GWYNETH HAS BABY... APPLE

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has given birth to a baby girl - and named her Apple.

The Oscar winner giave birth to her first child at a London hospital after a long labour yesterday.

She and singer husband Chris Martin named their daughter Apple Blythe Alison Martin.

The baby weighed 9lbs 11ozs and both mother and baby are said to be well.

A spokesman for Martin, Murray Chalmers, said: "Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are delighted to announce the birth of their first child, Apple Blythe Alison Martin, who was born in London, after a long labour, on May 14, and weighed 9lb 11oz.

"Both mother and baby are very well."

The celebrity couple said they were ecstatic over the birth of their daughter.

Martin said: "We are 900 miles over the moon, and we'd like to thank everyone at the hospital who have looked after us amazingly."

I don't get it. You have to be frickin retarded to name your kid Apple. Other than the fact that it's a fricking fruit, it doesn't even mean anything. It's not cool sounding, it doesn't convey positive emontions like joy or happiness, positive traits like intelligence or kindness, or anything else to that matter. It's like they just opened the dictionary a picked the first word they saw.

On the subject of fruity names, I know a girl who calls herself Pear. Really. Well, her real name is Kawanpornsiri so I guess I can see why.
