TEW05 Real World Update: August 2010

Recommended Posts

just to confirm the only people being removed who are currently signed to TNA in game are Betsy Ruth/Rosie Lottalove and Homicide, the rest of the announced releaces (Tomko, ODB, Daniels, Scott Hall, Sean Waltman) were either previously removed or incorrect.

- Pat Brink was re-signed to a WWE developmental deal.

Any chances of new promotions taking some of the old spots since some are being removed? NWA Wrestling from Hollywood's roster is mostly in the game right now so they would be fairly easy to add in. Since nCw Femmes Fatales got cut maybe WSU could get in for another womens promotion. NWA Hollywood is starting on TV in October & shoot their first TV taping this month. They seem like a collection of guys from AWS & M1W with some decent names in there to help them get noticed.

Just looking at the roster i think that NWA Pro Wrestling would be better suited turing into NWA Hollywood, the only difference with the feds i see is that NWA Pro is more the NWA of old (as in their the governing body type promotion) since they help with shows all over the US yet dont promote much on there own, it might be more logical to make the switch having NWA Hollywood as the home for the NWA world titles though.

Also if you can give me the info on WSU i'd gladly add them, i have zero clue on anything with that promotion.

EDIT

Just started the conversion of NWA Pro to NWA Hollywood, looking through the sites it seems NWA Hollywood is a sub promotion to NWA Pro so no biggie on the conversion, what i will say is that the promotion will be called Championship Wrestling from Hollywood with the initials NWA HD (since NWA Hollywood wont fit).

EDIT 2

Just finishing off NWA HD, can anyone give stats for these guys

I've added all the workers from that data to the main data except for the following Wrestlicious workers (since im not planning on adding Wrestlicious just yet ;))

Also with a quick look through some of them are in the data already like Lee Nikkan (under the name Nikkan Lee) as well as some of the ones already added.

EDIT

Right just sorted through the workers, i removed all duplicates (Marty Rubalcaba is already in as Marty Elias) as well as Christina Crawford who until she actually startes wrestling or doing something in wrestling wont be added regardless of her relations in the data.

Also can i have some clarification on the following workers since using google and cagematch i cant find anything on them in regards to wrestling.

- Dee Edwards

- Eric Santamaria

Ok based on that i'm going to remove Andrea Felldin and Boo Boo Stewart simply cause one cant be confirmed to be in the biz and the other has a semi pointless role who will most likley get cut in a week.

I might go through the left the business workers soon and remove some who may never return or didnt do much in the first place since he data is around the 3000 worker mark.

EDIT

Just did a quick run through of the left the business workers and have got a list of workers who could be removed due to either not doing much in the first place or have left wrestling ages ago and not done much since.

If there is anyone here you want to fight for to keep just give a reason however these are the most logical people for cut since they haven’t done much anyway.

- Amy Crawford - formally Nitro Girl AC Jazz

- Amy Weber - former diva search contestant was in the business for about a year left in 2005

- April Pennington - most recent involvement in wrestling is from 2004

I think they're all reasonable candidates to delete, and the only ones I'd think about leaving around would be the wives of active wrestlers who have some history in the business and could come back in. Catalina White is only a few months removed from the business and is engaged to Jack Swagger so could easily find her way back in. Taylor Matheny is retired but has on one or two occassions appeared with husband Brian Kendrick so could conceivably do it again. And Rebecca Hickenbottom worked that angle in WWE with husband Shawn Michaels and could do something like that again, although she seems the surest case of unlikely to have a regular role given her age and motherhood where a Catalina White could just show up in WWE because she's hot and around.

I wouldn't fight them being removed, I'd just probably hang onto those few wives myself for story purposes or the slightly closer connection they have to the business by being married to active wrestlers. Where as most of those women are just women who had a brief time with wrestling and you can assume are now totally disassociated with it.

Mark Madden still writes a lot about wrestling, doesn't he? And hosts a radio show about it? Not quite an active job in the business but maybe grounds to keep him in the database?

Catalina White is the only one with a reasonable chance of returning. The last week is evidence of WWE's willingness to hire back developmental people & if reports of the look their after are as true as written, she could be hired again anytime.

- Shelly Martinez should have drug problems ticked if you consider pot apart of the drug problem guidelines.

- Lady Apache has been missing from shows lately and the reason why has been confirmed as she announced a couple of days ago that she is pregnant. Her husband is Electroshock for those of you that don't know. Set her to On Hiatus.

I agree that Catalina would be the most likely to return. She's only a few months out of training in FCW so if she showed up with her husband to a WWE event and they decided to hire his hot wife to be his valet she'd almost certainly do it, and that's something WWE and other promoters have done tons of time. But I also figure there's tons of examples of women like Karen Angle, Sharmell, Debra McMichaels, Rebecca Hickenbottom, or Sara Calaway showing up for the first time or the first time in a long time simply because their mates were active performers and there was suddenly a storyline purpose for them to be at their side. And I just think if we're talking about 3 or 4 women why not leave them in there for the player to activate if they wish?

I mean, I guess it comes down to a basic question. Why are there ANY "Left the Business" people in the database? Its unlike "On Hiatus" where the people can return to your game and the business. These are people who are at the time your game starts set to never ever play in your game. So aren't they as useful as deceased wrestlers in that regard? Personally when I play I tend to take any of the ones who I think have a chance of returning and putting them to "On Hiatus" so they're a factor in the game, and then I toss the rest.

But I assume the reason they're included is because even if they've left the business they're still tangentially associated enough like Rock and Brock that hey could well return one day in a plausible scenario. So that seems like a category these women are safely in as well. And while I can appreciate Who's desire to weed out some names for the sake of the database size I just feel like being married to an active wrestler leaves you one step closer to the business and more in the category of a Brock or Rock than these random Nitro Girls who probably haven't looked at wrestling in a decade.

for now im going to remove all those listed in the spoiler except Catalina White, Taylor Matheny and Rebecca Hickenbottom, the only other marriages i see to people in game are Marissa Mazzola-McMahon (to Shane McMahon who has left the business himself) and Sara Calaway (who was married to Mark "The Undertaker" Calaway and who have since split meaning the chances of her returning anytime soon is very slim).

EDIT

after removing those Left the Business workers above the following are left if anyone has any suggestions on more who could be axed although not currently essential

All those could probaly go. I'd probaly keep in the following:

Bobby Lashley - Strictly a big name I'm sure some people set him to active & use him.

Brock Lesnar - Strictly a big name I'm sure some people set him to active & use him.

Daniel Rodimer - Still pretty young, I'm sure deleting him wouldn't matter though.

Dwayne Johnson - Strictly a big name I'm sure some people set him to active & use him.

Gerald Brisco - WWE just released him because of the health problems, he could sign back to WWE & work for FCW so he wouldn't have to travel.

J.J. Dillon - What is J.J. doing these days?

Shane McMahon - If he wants back in the WWE, he'll come back in. Seems to me like he left to do other things until Vince either dies or decides to retire then Shane would probaly come back.

Catalina White - Reasons stated in a post above.

Jackie Gayda-Haas - Basically the same as Catalina White. I think I read reports of TNA being interested in her & Charlie together, & since it is the TNA schedule anyone is an option.

Karen Angle - Basically the same as Catalina White.

Leyla Milani - Whole not in the game she did have a part in Wrestlicious, so she was just in the businesses within the last year.

Linda McMahon - She'll have a job at WWE if she loses the election. If she wins, when she either loses the next election or something she would be back.

- Set Simon Diamond to retired instead of inactive.

I agree with most of those you suggest to keep, their the ones who I’d keep even if their not in the business. Personally out of the list of people you’d see axed I’d suggest also keeping these

Brooke Hogan - pops in and out the business with Hulk and could be used in a similar way to the wives.

Chyna - one of the most well known women from WWE.

Jonathan Coachman - does sports announcing and was a bit of a well known announcer in wrestling so could possible return.

Lilian Garcia - has returned before and could possibly return again

Megumi Kudo - did announcing and is a known name in Japan.

Rena Mero - similar to Chyna however does pop in and out of wrestling from times

Stacy Keibler - a big female name especially after her WWE run

EDIT

Here is a list of workers who have left the business who are on the next chopping block, feel free to defend their position in the database if you wish all suggestions welcome, this is just to reduce the amount of useless workers in the database

- Bull Nakano

- Christine Wolf
