Bonnaroo 2011

Yeah, I won't be able to get my ticket until in the middle of next week. I'm not worried about them selling out any time soon, tickets have always been on sale for months leading up to the first day. Just sucks I'll have to get the last tier of tickets, again, for the 3rd year.

So, you're going one way or another, damshow? If so, this requires an EWB meet-up. I'm already planning one with some guys from a NIN board.

Yeah, haha. I don't know why I didn't try to meet up with LD, probably because he was way too excited about Dave Matthews Band. Fucking 'broseph over here :P

Is it really possible that we're the only 3 on this entire board that's going to Bonnaroo? :(

The DMB set at Roo was disappointing. The one at Madison Square Garden I saw five months later was way way better. And it kinda is annoying how many bros and frat boys love DMB.

You'd think there'd be more than three. But much this section are Brits. Think YI is crazy enough to come over for this?

Looking most forward to Arcade Fire, Black Keys, Mumford and Sons, and Bruce Hornsby. Bunch of other stuff I'd like to see, depends on schedule.

DID YOU TWO BUY YOUR FUCKING TICKETS? :P Because I haven't yet. I think I'm going to wait until after they announce the next additions to the line-up, which should be by the end of the month. Either way I'm going, but I just need that one band to get me off my ass and order my ticket.

OFWGKTA, I'm looking at you. Or, Monsters of Folk. Which seems entirely possible, according to Inforoo.

Who am I kidding? I was sold the minute I saw Lil' Wayne, Opeth, Arcade Fire, Iron & Wine and Sleigh Bells on the same line-up.

I was reallyyyyyyy hoping for OFWGKTA to be announced, but oh well. Hopefully next year!

On the bright side, that comedy tent is STACKED! Lewis Black, Cheech, John Waters, the cast of the League... which means I finally get to see Jon Lajoie live. Hell yes. Going to LOVE that 420 Comedy Blaze if I can get into it.

Shoulda tried for Cheech & Chong as a duo, though I'm sure they tried. Either way, it's going to be amazing. I need to buy my ticket FAST. Luckily, next week I'm working a shitload, so my next check will be nice and big, and I'll order it.

This year just didn't work out for them like they wanted. We could have ended up with Radiohead, Daft Punk, Prince and someone else as headliners, but all of those deals fell through.

Just under 2 months away! :D

Lewis Black is gonna be impossible to see, unless he ends up on a stage at some point. Or if they do something like the Lunar Stage with Conan last year.

For artist additions, Black Uhuru isn't too bad. Black Joe Lewis I'll try and swing by for, missed their Boston area appearance a couple weeks ago. Not much on the late night really stands out to me. Haven't heard of most of it, and Lil' Wayne I have near zero interest in seeing. So I'll either wing it, or get sleep.

Late night:

Lil Wayne

String Cheese Incident

Bassnectar

Girl Talk

Dr. John with the Original Meters and Allen Toussaint performing Desitively Bonnaroo

Pretty Lights

STS9

Gogol Bordello

Big Boi

Scissor Sisters

Ratatat

Bootsy Collins & the Funk University

Shpongle Presents Shpongletron Experience

The Black Angels

I'm definitely checking out Lil' Wayne late night set. I bet it's going to be full of guest spots, since he travels with the Young Money crew. There is talk of Saturday being an all hip-hop day, since most of them have confirmed for Saturday. I'm thinking Eminem unopposed on the What, then late night Weezy on the Which. Perfect for me, since I'll probably wonder from the What stage and around Centeroo and make circles until Weezy goes on.

I'm pretty excited for Dr. John and Big Boi, and I'll try for Sphongle if I have the right party favors, but I agree, this year's late night isn't what it could be. It's a crying shame that Explosions in the Sky don't have a late night set.

Gogol will probably be late night in the tent that he's curating, that Gypsy Punk thing. I don't care.
