What have you been playing this week?

So, I've been playing Enslaved. Good game. The story isn't quite what I'd hoped it might be considering the source material's reputation, but we all know how these things can get lost in translation. The game itself is pretty mindless fun. It's very generous platforming and simple battle system are actually really enjoyable once you get into the flow of it, and it mixes things up well. Currently half way through it (according to trophies) and will easily complete it by next weekend, depending how busy I am this week.

Source material?

I have finished Dead Island and have gotten stuck right into Kingdoms of Amalur. It's lovely.

I've been playing Catherine. It's brilliant, but i find it awfully hard at times. That's not a bad thing except when you've hit retry about thirty times and are still stuck in the same fucking puzzle. <_< Anyway, about half way through it as of now and trying to finish it soon, i'll probably try a second walkthrough right away to see how much it differs, i assume there's several endings from the looks of it?

8 endings.

Very good.

Good.

Sorta Good.

Full neutral

Semi-neutral

Sorta evil.

Evil.

Very evil.

But really...the Very good ending is just a longer version of the sorta good ending. Same goes for everything else.

Just finished Enslaved. Great game. Massively disappointed that there's not going to be a sequel, but the story is a fantastic stand alone tale (the end took it from "kind of good, but something's missing" to "fantastic"), and the game was thoroughly fun throughout, with interesting characters, locales, and general gameplay.

Bouncing between Midnight Club LA (likely the only way I'll ever have a garage full of muscle cars), Madden 10 and Geometry Wars 2.

I will eventually pick up where I left off on Enslaved (like an hour in or something), but I actually like that there are games that are great stand alone titles and not everything has a sequel. I was perfectly happy with Metro 2033 being a one-off for example (until they announced Last Light for next year <_<)
