“I can tell you this,” says Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema. “We at the Big Ten don’t want to be like the SEC—in any way, shape or form.”

And this is why the Big Ten loses year after year to the SEC Bret!

But a few points on this.

1. There is absolutely nothing against asking a verbal commit if he is interested in your school, especially as a new coach. Bielema sounds beyond bitter.

2. "Gentleman Agreements" are complete crap in today's cut throat recruiting world

3. His own AD Barry Alvarez took Urban's side basically by saying this

"Recruiting is recruiting until they sign," Alvarez said. "If we had somebody who changed their mind and came to us, that's OK. Urban (Meyer) was very aggressive, but there is no pact within the conference not to continue to recruit. It's open season until they sign."

4. Bielema is a huge, huge hypocrite as this explains

In the fall of 2010, Bielema and Wisconsin hosted then-Iowa commit Melvin Gordon for its home date against Ohio State. Gordon gave the Badgers his verbal commitment shortly after his visit, later inking his letter of intent of national signing day.

“He came to the Ohio State game and saw the light and changed his mind,” Bielema said at his signing day press conference last February. So, in Bielema’s mind, what he did in 2010 has no bearing on the absolute indignation he flashed over Meyer’s ability to swing offensive lineman Kyle Dodson away from Wisconsin and to Ohio State.

So basically, Bielema is an asshole who is upset he didn't get his way so he's throwing out allegations when he's guilty of the same thing, which is not illegal at all. Just makes me happy to beat Wisconsin's ass up and down the field with a better coach these next few years.
