45 - Gaslight Anthem

This was debut'd on Zane Lowe last night and apparently we're getting a return to the heavier side of the band (Sink or Swim), which would be a nice change from the last two. I wouldn't agree because it still feels more 59 Sound to me, but it's very good.

Gaslight Anthem are a bit shit when you think about it, aren't they? Their first album was good but even that's a bit boring now.

Don't lie. They aren't breaking new ground but the music is always solid, lyrics are good, vocals are great and you really can't go wrong with Am, C, F, G .

nah it's lame. and the key is not C but Eb so it is not C, Am, F & G but Eb, Ab Bb and Cm. :/

And yes I did work that out on my guitar just so I could be a dick.

Yeahh I figured out the riff on my guitar as I listened to it, I just meant the chord progression they generally use you motherfucker.

They announced a couple of days ago that it would be out July 23rd for UK and July 24th for US. They're pretty damn good live (dunno if you've seen them before), except for when it's not quite an intimate setting. I saw them on the main stage at Leeds fest 2010 and I wasn't a big fan of it, but every other time I've seen them they were excellent!

Yeah, I think I'm seeing them at Reading, which I'm not especially looking forward to as they don't really strike me as a festival band. But I saw them in Bristol a couple of years ago with Chuck Ragan and they were brilliant. Love the new song to, it's sort of a cross between Sink or Swim and '59 sound. Can't wait for the rest of the album.

Chuck <3. I wish I'd seen the Chuck/Frank Turner/Gaslight tour, would've been amazing. What stage are they on this year at Leeds/Reading? If it's main stage then it could be hit or miss (it was for me), but in a tent they were brilliant.
