It's been 8 years and it's about damn time the World Cup returned. The first one provided some action and this one shouldn't be any different. Let's hope for a US/Canada final once again like '96 and the '02 Olympics.

Canada did it's slow ass start in the exhbition games so now it's clear sailing. Wooo.

You call tieing a team of gimpish Slovaks a slow start? I call it a near disaster. Here's hoping they get their shit together.

I'd rather see a Canada/European nation final than Canada/USA. Mayeb Russia, that'd be cool. It's stupid that Russia and Slovakia are in the North American pool, they won't ever get home ice, but there's no-one else to put in the pool...

NASN's covering every game for UK fans, should be cool.

Man, I knew Finland was a better team, but I didn't expect the Czech to come out so flat today. Good to see a shutout for Kiprusoff although he didn't have to do much. Kind of a flat game too, hopefully the America-Canada game on Tuesday has more to it.

I enjoyed today's game. Finland played great and Kipper got a shutout (being a goalie myself), I was happy. But I was more happy about the play of Vokoun. If it wasn't for him, the game would have been like 9 - 0 (that is unless another goalie did just as good as him... :shifty: ), and CZE wouldn't even get 12 shots as they'd be even more bummed out. It'll be interesting to see how the CZE/GER game goes as well - that might be the game for Germany to win.

Anywho; I'm excited to see Ger/Swe face off tomorrow. It'll get me primed up for 'the big one' later that night. :D

EDIT: Does anyone else feel that North American teams have an advantage? I just do as the finals are in North America, meaning the time zones would be way off for the European teams when they come to Canada for the finals.

In the unlikely event that Canada gets knocked off. My second pick would be Finland. KIPPER!

Canada's, just testing out their line combinations. Thats mainly because they haven't won a game yet. Coach kept mixing and matching the lines. Lemieux, Iginla and Sakic turned into Lemieux, St Louis and Richards turned into Richards, St Louis and Lecalvier
