Yeah, between The Great Escape and The Conversation, I'd definitely go with The Conversation, but Come And See is a movie I've never even heard of, and it sounds and looks amazing. Hell, the Wikipedia entry says that it sent people to the hospital for being so shocking.

I think I'm definitely going with Come And See.

EDIT: Although The Conversation has John Cazale, which was why I chose it in the first place (only Cazale movie I've seen just once) so now I'm rethinking. Damnit.

Will not vote yet.

I actually have Harold and Maude on DVD ready to watch so that would be my easiest option.

A couple of those I'll probably vote ahead of that though.

By the way, when's round 4 (my round) being polled? Because I'll be away if it's anywhere between Monday 5th and Tuesday 13th.

I've been choosing who goes next with a random number generator, so there's no real order. Glad people liked both films we've watched, it's definitely made me a lot more interested in getting into Paul Newman's work, with The Verdict & The Hustler jumping pretty high up on the list.

Fairly sure this EWB Film Thing has made me gay for Robert Redford. Understandable, really.

Quick review for Butch Cassidy: I actually prefer The Sting (the narrative there grabbed me by the balls and never let go), but Butch Cassidy's humour and the chemistry between Redford/Newman is unstoppable. Like Jimmy, I found parts of act three a bit laborious until the utterly amazing ending, in which the aforementioned chemistry shines again. Also a big fan of its use of still images and sepia tone.

I rank Butch Cassidy on the same level as Chinatown: well deserving of its classic tag, with some genuinely stunning moments (here, dynamite related) but it's not in my personal top 50 films.

I don't know whether I've just seen it too many times, but Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is such a big come down after The Sting. A great film, definitely, but my interest waned.

I'll struggle to get through The Great Escape if that is the next film.
