The General 2014 Music Festival Thread For Music Festival Chat

I'm still not definite for going - trying to book a last minute holiday. Will need to commit one way or the other soon though.

Someone who is better at music than I am, solve the conundrum:

Do I see:

Yamantaka//Sonic Titan

followed by

Liars

Or do I see:

Kurt Vile

followed by

Metz

?

With this second version, I could see the start of Yamantaka (SP?) and would also miss the end of Metz as I'll be moving to see Caribou.

So yeah, any thoughts? This might just extend to 'I prefer this band, watch them' type posts, but any help will be much appreciated.

I really, REALLY like the idea of seeing Yamantaka, but quite want to see Kurt Vile - this is the only real clash that is a bitch. Liars and Metz don't really fuss me.

Will probably go and see a bit of all of them, but I kinda want to commit to seeing certain bands.

That's my working plan so far - also have potentially a chance to see Iceage and Pissed Jeans, as well as the other two (Kurt Vile and Metz). Post punky stuff isn't really my sort of thing though, so whether I bother is another thing. They are also playing films (not sure what), so could take that opportunity to go somewhere else.

Can't see Electric Wizard, which is the only real issue.

That sucks man, think you had a good bunch of bands there. Should try and catch some of them separately if you can.

Was my thoughts exactly. It has at least got me into a group of bands I'd never heard of.

That is a shame. I'm surprised it sold poorly with that lineup and price.
