Eurgh, Nymphomaniac. So much ego-wanking.

I really liked Gone Girl, but it didn't quite have the lasting effect I was hoping it would. I wanted it to be like my favourite film of the year so far, but it just slightly fell short -- but I feel like that might've had something to do with a strange Japanese man who was laughing hysterically at things which were in no way intended to be funny. Still a really good thriller, and with Fincher involved, of course it looks bloody brilliant.

I've actually had the opposite reaction since I saw it on Tuesday. I wasn't sure what to think coming out of it but since then, my fondness of it has grown. I will say that the dialogue was a little cutesy at times and took me out of the film but overall, it was really good and a lot better than I had expected a couple of months ago. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross absolutely knock the score out of the park too. I can't imagine a Fincher film without them now.

I'd be curious which things you're referring to though because I found the movie to be a lot funnier than I had anticipated.

Oh yeah, I found it funny. But this guy was like in hysterics every other minute. In truth, I think he had some form of mental illness, so I'm obviously not judging, although it still effected my experience. Yeah, some of the dialogue felt like it would look nice on paper, but not so much in practice.

I usually hesitate to update this for just one movie but we watched this last night and man it was so good! I don't know why more people didn't see it in theaters but I really wish we had. Great action and even some decent dark comedy elements. Can't recommend it enough

Started this challenge on the October 16th and already notched up 19 movies. Currently enjoying a Tom Cruise week watching a Tom Cruise movie each day, finishing up tomorrow with Jerry Maguire. I had planned to watch all the Harry Potter Movies by now but my girlfriend wants to watch them with me so that'll take a while to complete unfortunately as i enjoyed rewatching the first one after so long.

In the near future I plan to watch alot of Marvel Comics based movies including the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, I might throw in a few DC Comics based movies. I will also be watching the rest of the Expendables films and Bad Boys 2 over the next few days.
