Been a pretty slow twelve days because I was working on a film shoot, so didn't have much time for films. Did manage to catch a lot of good stuff though. Nicholas Ray's A Lonely Place shows there's much more to his filmography than Rebel Without A Cause. Under The Skin, Cap & Starred Up are all really good new releases in their own way. And Stalag 17 was another good addition to Wilder's back catalogue, while Whiskey Galore was pretty disappointing after what I've come to expect from McKendrick.

Haven't updated this in a while. Big was nothing special but Tom Hanks is always enjoyable. Ace Ventura was pretty lame. I know a lot of people love it, but it was literally just Jim Carrey making funny faces for 90 minutes. The first two Godfathers were fantastic, as advertised. Marlon Brando and De Niro both owned their respective films as Vito. Part III was alright, not as good as the first two obviously but not as bad as it was made out to be. 40 Year-Old-Virgin was decent but looks so dated now. Holy crap Jonah Hill looked so young in that cameo.

In that stretch Ace Ventura was probably Carrey's worst film. Everything else after that, from Dumb and Dumber all the way to like Bruce Almighty was fantastic. I even liked The Majestic.
