I despise Sophie, am I supposed to?

I think despising Sophie is a legitimate stance to take. Every time Mark ends up in a brief fling (even if it's him over-imagining what's actually happening) then I'm pleased for him. He's always happiest then before seeming to drag himself back to Sophie. The series leading up to their wedding has some top quality episodes because of him putting off calling off the wedding longer and longer and for Sophie becoming more unbearable.

I really need to get around to watching this properly. I only managed to watch a bit of it here and there when my girlfriend was marathoning it - so while I get the jist I missed out on a lot.
