Never give a guy over 30 longer than a 2 year deal in OOTP. 99% of them plummet to one star players.

So I'm in an online league (now in 2006), and I signed some random bullpen free agents on the cheap on 1 year deals.

Meet Brian Shouse, who I signed before the 2004 season on a one year deal

You'd think with those blah ratings, why would I keep this guy in the majors much less a closer? 29 for stuff? Meh fastball that only tops out at 88? Well, for some unknown reason he's racked up nearly 40 saves in 2004 and 2005, probably will top 40 in 2006. Made the all-star team this season too. He wants like $4.6m over the next three seasons, for the third season in a row. I just let him become a FA, then sign him to another one year deal in the offseason.
