Have all you cocks learnt nothing from this season?

It doesn't matter what magical statistics X did in team Y, it's how the team performs as a cohesive unit and how each player fits into that unit, that ultimately reflects results. Mane could have a gpa90p45ub40 rating unparalelled in world football, ain't going to mean dick if he can't forge an understanding and partnership with the players around him.

No, but all you can do is use the statistics available and hope that it gels in reality.

Also, that awkward moment when Klopp discusses Mane for the first time...

Quote

"I have followed Sadio for a lot of years since his impressive performances in the Olympics in 2012, and then watched his development in Austria and in his time at Southampton," said Klopp of his newest signing.

You laugh, but I've seen Klopp down at Powerleague in Bilston. He was scouting my star player, Joshua Hodson. By 2027, he's going to be wrecking Premier League defences. You heard his name here first.

He'll bottle it though for England in the 2028 Euros :shifty:

Supposedly Belgium's 22-year-old striker Michy Batshuayi is undergoing a medical (at Belgium's camp in Bordeaux) ahead of a 40m euro move from Marseille to Chelsea.

(That's currently about £33m...for now. :shifty:)

So where will he end up after a couple of years on the Chelsea bench then?

Tottenham and Leicester are among several Premier League clubs interested in signing Ragnar Sigurdsson after his impressive displays for Iceland in their run to the quarter-finals of Euro 2016, although they face competition from Schalke and Wolfsburg for the central defender. Sigurdsson, who is under contract with the Russian side Krasnodar until the summer of 2018, has been a star performer in France and was man of the match in the 2-1 victory against England in the last 16 on Monday after scoring the equaliser and producing a commanding performance at the heart of Iceland’s defence. Liverpool and other unnamed clubs have also expressed an interest.

Manchester City have completed the signing of midfielder Aaron Mooy, one of Australia’s brightest talents, from sister club Melbourne City. The 25-year-old Socceroos star, who signed a three-year deal with the Premier League club, will begin the next stage of his career off the back of a record-breaking A-League season in which he set a new benchmark of 21 assists. At the same time, Mooy’s fellow Australian Luke Brattan went the other way, returning to the A-League on a season-long loan deal from the two-time Premier League champions. Bratten signed for Manchester City from Brisbane Roar in October last year before being immediately farmed out to Bolton Wanderers. He arrives back in Australia not having made a single appearance in England. Melbourne City also announced on Thursday that Anthony Caceres – who signed for Manchester City in January and was loaned straight back to the A-League club – will stay in Australia for another season.

Belgium right-back Thomas Meunier was granted time away from the squad on Wednesday to conduct a full medical with Paris Saint-Germain. The Club Brugge defender will replace Gregory van der Wiel at the French champions.

Samuel Umtiti looks set to join Barcelona from Lyon after the French club’s president confirmed he has agreed a deal for the defender to move to La Liga. The 22-year-old, who is expected to replace the suspended Adil Rami when France face Iceland in the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 on Sunday, has been tracked by Luis Enrique’s side for some time after they were frustrated in their attempts to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Marquinhos. Negotiations between the two clubs have been ongoing for some time and Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed reports that a fee of €30m (£24.6m) has been agreed.

Newcastle are close to completing the signing of Dwight Gayle from Crystal Palace, with Rafael Benítez’s side set to pay an initial £8.5m in a deal that could be worth more than £10m. Gayle, who joined Palace from Peterborough in July 2013 for a then-club record fee of around £4.5m, is expected to travel to the north east on Wednesday for a medical and to discuss personal terms after the clubs made a breakthrough in negotiations. Meanwhile, Newcastle have signed goalkeeper Matz Sels from Belgian side Gent for an undisclosed fee. Sels, 24, has signed a five-year contract after the two clubs agreed a reported fee of around £4.5m. Middlesbrough had been reported to have held talks with Sels, while Benítez had made bringing in a goalkeeper his first priority after agreeing to remain at St James’ Park following relegation.

Crystal Palace are reported to have submitted a bid of €3m for 18-year-old Sochaux defender Jérôme Onguéné, who is also wanted by Turkish club Trabzonspor.

Dwight Gayle would be a good signing for Newcastle in my opinion, could be deadly in that league if given a run and with the right manager, which Benitez may well be.

I can also see Palace stumping up that money for Benteke. They were willing to pay such a large amount for Batshuayi, why not Benteke? In the right system he can shine again.
