    The Avengers

In the end, I feel like it's all splitting hairs (not that I want to quash that discussion.) I only say that because there have been five films in this canon so far, and all of them have been good to great. That's quite a feat in a superhero franchise series - hell, in any franchise series. And we haven't even reached the marquee film yet.
  2. This explains why next week's preview seems to have singers in a light-up wrestling ring. Or not, but I like the ring.
  3. Wait, viewers will eventually be voting on this? I'm so lost.
  4. My roommate is rather turned off by him too. I like him though, if only for his innate desire to explain even the tiniest minutiae in the world of cooking. I learn when I watch him.
  5. I was in a terrible fucking mood last night, so any conflict in any episode's story just stressed me the fuck out. I suppose I should just rewatch at some point. That said, this proves that Ron Swanson is one of the few things that can reach me as intended, even through my stress.
  6. I'm the opposite. I don't necessarily love its usage on WWE TV, but I largely have no problem with it. On The Voice, the big banner with full tweets is distracting.
  7. Surprise. I watch this too. I'm not as informed as JHS and GoGo, as I never watched the first season and only started in on this one because my roommate watches it. That said, I've found myself enjoying some stuff. I have no idea whose team is strongest, but judging from the auditions I saw I like Cee-Lo's team most. It helps that I'm kinda sorta rooting for the young Chicago sandwich maker who sang Folsom Prison Blues. His apparent hipster sensibility (at least in terms of clothes) is a con for me. But hell, I've got friends who dress like that and I give them a pass, so why not him? In my opinion, the big drawback on his team are The Shields Brothers or whatever their name is. They're the kind of guys I just find to be off-putting in person. Yes, my opinion is definitely influenced by personalities. I give consideration to pure vocal talent and performing ability, but if I can't like the person as a person it's over for me. My mind's still fairly open on most of the contestants though.
  8. You'd have a cool $1.50. (One time it was Steve Martin for Lawrence.)
  9. Do you mean Martin Lawrence? Because if there's another version of Blue Streak with the same cast, but Short instead of Lawrence, I . . . I might actually watch that.
  10. A tremendous interview with the women of Community's cast, as well as writer Megan Ganz. Seriously, outside of the AV Club's walkthrough of Season 2 with Dan Harmon, this is probably the best and most revealing piece on the show I've read.
  11. If that's always been the plan, barring any late-season developments, I can at least agree with that writer on Robert basically being a concession after Michael left. The only reason I can think of is to provide an intimidating authority that Andy must deal with while rising to the occasion of management. If that's the case, why not make it Robert? But, again, what happens when he's gone and the show continues?
  12. Welp. Shows the sort of cognitive dissonance I'm capable of.
  13. I'd be for it if I felt like smaller films that otherwise wouldn't get as much publicity were the ones being allowed in as a result. Instead, it seems to be making room for movies like Bridesmaids. Bridesmaids was a fun-ass movie and outside the norm, but it got a ton of publicity without the Oscars.
  14. Die Hard, starring Cameron Diaz. . . . ohhh, you mean actual things?
  15. If anything, I'd like to scale back the number of Best Picture nominees. An old argument now, I know.
  16. It bears repeating that Jim Rash was the star of that broadcast.
  17. I would honestly love to see Chris Rock (again), Robert Downey Jr., Zack Galifinakis, or anyone with that sort of "I don't give a shit, but hey, this is pretty fun" kind of attitude hosting. The room's always gonna have plenty of pomp, circumstance, and self-congratualtion, so let someone cut the treacle now and then. I think that's even what Billy Crystal aims for, but his stuff doesn't seem to connect for anyone who is under 60 and isn't one of my more "everything is beautiful" sheltered friends. It was a decent show, overall. Shit I could have done without in there, to be certain, but it was all a wash in the end. I made constant fun of it on Twitter, but that's the whole reason I got that thing.
  18. The redhead's known to shred the cello.

      Hickey

      And I'm jello baby.

  19. . . . Also, Zero brings up a great point: How the fuck did The Smurfs avoid any nominations?
  20. The cast of Community play Trivial Pursuit. Posted in December, but new to me. Donald Glover, Chevy Chase, Jim Rash, and Dan Harmon make the best parts.
