Songs That Remind You of Scenes

You know what I mean. You hear a song that isn't an original score, and immediately you remember watching a scene from TV, film, or a game where it is used. What are some that you always associate with?

Probably my all time favourite is this from one of my two favourite movies:

And then there's "Downtown", which always reminds me of LOST.

Here's a bunch I really love..Probably a dozen Wes Anderson and Paul Thomas Anderson ones I could have chosen really.

Great shout on Goodfellas. Most of the songs from that movie remind me of the movie. Scorcese does a great job with music in his movies, for instance...Casino.

Must be a Deniro thing, but here is the Deer Hunter, I fucking love this scene. Everybody is having a good time, care free, before Michael, Stevie, and Nicky see the horrors of Vietnam.

Tracks of my tears from Platoon

I don't know man, something about Vietnam movies and music. Well, Forrest Gump isn't a total Vietnam War movie but I always think of that Helicopter when I see hear the opening to Fortunate Son.

Fortunate Son

Yeah, but that song is an absolute gimme. Complete tap-in. A Lineker wonderstrike from minus one yard out. When you think of Vietnam era music it is that and All Along the Watchtower.

How did you not mention Adagio for Strings?

I wouldn't have really thought of All Along the Watchtower as Vietnam era film music really for some reason, if I'm understanding that right at least, as in; music you might typically associate with films about the Vietnam war?

My first thoughts for that are like Fortunate Son, Bad Moon Rising, Run Through the Jungle (Creedence Clearwater Revival seem to have the market cornered) and stuff like We Gotta Get Out of This Place, Sympathy for the Devil, For What It's Worth, Time of the Season.

I assume its the same video. I'm not letting the whole thread load on my tablet because of the one giant post crashing Chrome.
