  1. George Best automatically springs to mind.
  2. I fail to see why you keep referring to Smith as if he should have been sent off. Perhaps Davids is a better diver than I thought, as he seems to have you convinced. Like I've already said, both Smith and Rooney were booked mainly on they're namesake as far worse tackles went on unpunished. And the 'deflected Defoe shot' you were thinking of? Try again, it was actually Mido and it wasn't so much Ferdinand's 'hand', more his elbow as he turned away from the ball thus removing any intent. Nice to see, you've only picked out the one occasion when Pyo's dived in the box, maybe the radio only mentioned the one. Either that or none of his numerous dives featured prominently on Match Of The Day's Highlights. For a person who claims to have watched the full 90-minutes, you seemed to have missed an awful lot, nonetheless I've come to the conclusion it'd be safer arguing with a brick-wall than going any further with you. Whether you've watched the match or not is irrelevant, either way you're either lying or just plain stupid.
  3. And Stalteri remaining on the pitch after at least three or four bookable offences isn't 'dodgy refereeing'? What about Lee Young-Pyo getting away with constant diving in the box, each of which attempt was much worse than Rooney's? The refereeing done neither team any favours whatever way you look at it. Hell, the 'foul' that led to Jenas' free-kick wasn't even a foul in the first place. The fact of the matter is that in football, things even themselves out, the draw was a fair result...No robbery.
  4. Not really, I'd say Jol would have taken a point at the start of the game and would have little reason to be disappointed with today's result. Taking off Lennon for Keane was justifiable given Spurs were already a goal down, but taking off Defoe for Mendes towards the end of the game shows that the manager would be perfectly happy with the draw.
  5. The draw was a fair result in the end, neither team really did enough to deserve the victory. To use an old cliché, It was a game of two halves...United dominating the first, with Spurs only really coming into it in the second. Nice to see both teams really going for it, each with three strikers on the field at 1-1 until Defoe was taken off. Just unfortunate that neither team did enough to win it, with the points dropped doing us no favours.
  6. I can't see Henry staying to be honest. He's already done everything possible for Arsenal, there's really no reason to stay apart from loyalty, to which if he had any he would have already signed a new deal. Unless Arsenal make some major waves in Europe this season, I very much doubt Henry will be wearing an Arsenal shirt this time next year.
  7. Vote: Johnny Fits the rules better and just a better graphic, IMO.
  8. The United match was indeed very boring, this coming from a fan. Scholes hasen't been the same player for us at all this season. Even last year when he lacked form, he was never the weak-link in the team that he seems to be now. The two bookings were typical of his effort this season. Not the worst result in the end though, with Benfica and Villareal cancelling eachother out, we're still in pole position and after going down to ten men, 0-0 is acceptable.
  9. Isn't Mustaine the only original member of the band anyway? :/ It just doesn't seem the same to me if a band that mostly consists of session musicians announce they're break-up, only to see another new line-up bar one the following tour.
  10. Great win yesterday, given it was the Sunderland's of this world we were foolishly dropping points against last season. We started off slow, a trait which is becoming increasingly common after the international breaks but we really took to the game in the second half. Van Der Sar again proved what a huge asset he is to the club with our defence still looking very scrappy now that we're down to the bare bones. All credit to the youngsters who came in and did a job, Bardsley played all 90 minutes on his full-debut and not once looked out of place and Rossi showed that given the chance he can really make an impact in the first team. All in all, the future's looking bright and we've still several top-performers on the mend. The important thing is to keep churning out results until we either meet Chelsea or wait for someone else to make them slip-up.
  11. ^_^ It's times like these, you've gotta laugh.
  12. I always thought that by adding the likes of Drogba and Okocha, FIFA were merely only doing so to keep the award more international...Much like in the FIFA Young Player Award when Dong Fangzou was nominated.
  13. This was doing the rounds on the Football365 forums a while back. Not sure on its legitimacy but if it's genuine, it's funny as fuck.
  14. I find it funny that before his Real debut he said he'd like to become a goal-scoring centre half, someone should really show him where the opponent's net is.
  15. I'm hoping for an Alan Smith start on Wednesday now that Gerrard's out. He's been great this season in the holding role for his club, and given the opportunity, I'd feel he'd be able to do the same for his country. With a designated holding player, Lampard should have the freedom to go foward at will without having to worry about covering. Ideally I'd say Carrick would be more in line, given his experience in the role but with the limited resources at the minute Smith is, in my opinion at least, the best option England have.
