  1. Thats a ridiculous statement. Realistically, the only decent strikers you have is Van Nistelrooy, Rooney and... Saha. Smith is being converted to a midfielder by the looks of it and Ronaldo, Giggs and Park are all wingers who will ideally play behind the strikers. I'm not even going to talk about Solskjaer. ←
  2. Bellion's loan-spell to West Ham will do him all the good as it could hardly hurt matters. Towards the end of last year's reserve season Bellion was really tearing it up before suffering his injury, sure its a much different level but it was a step in the right direction nonetheless. First-team experience is essential in any young player's development and if Bellion can show the same kind of performances he did for our reserves, he should have no problem working his way into the West Ham team. We've yet the see the best of him, if he can fine-tune other aspects of his game other than his pace, we could, in a year's time, have the player the manager originally say potential in.
  3. I'm surprised no-one's mentioned any Pink Floyd tracks as most of they're albums begin and end in perfection, more often than not with songs directly linked to one another. 'Wish You Were Here' is probably the best example with 'Shine On You Crazy Dimond' opening and closing the CD but others such as 'Pigs On The Wing' (From 'Animals') shouldn't be overlooked. In terms of individual tracks, 'Atom Heart Mother Suite' would work as a fantastic start to any album whereas the combination of 'One Of These Days' and 'Echoes' as Opener and Closer of 'Meddle' respectively are both great tracks. YI's also hit the nail on the head with Dream Theater, especially 'The Glass Prison' on 'Six Degrees' and 'A Change Of Seasons'. 'Pull Me Under' and 'New Millennium' also spring to mind.
  4. (Y) Good job on the both of those, I like them. Definitely two of the best pieces I've seen from you, you've seem to have mastered the text, a minor downfall in the past, to perfection. The Raven one works better as a wallpaper IMO probably due to the centralised cut, you can see that you've put a lot of work into it, the blending especially looks just right. I can see what you meant about being unable to get a theme going in the second piece but nonetheless it still works as a standalone wallpaper. The blending in the background is again top-notch but the only thing that lets it down, to me at least, is the cut placement especially the out-of-proportion Sabu cut. Apart from that, I've loving both of them and I'd give them a 9/10 and an 8/10 respectively. Keep up the good work!
  5. Ah for fucks sake... Chelsea 1 - Wigan 0, Crespo.
  6. 8/10 I like it. Very good use of colouring, the text especially complementing the rest of the graphic. The only real point I dislike is the 'M...M...M...' text, it takes away the seriousness of the graphic as it reminds me in the first place of his horrible stuttering gimmick () I'd replace that with a logo of some-sort, maybe even a mini-silhouette of him performing the F-5, just to be original and keep with the intense theme the cuts provide. All-in-all it's another good piece from you that serves it's purpose well.
  7. I would accept the red, it was just a little strict in my opinion. With no bookings or dodgy tackles beforehand, It was more shocking than anything to see the red card produced. To me the tackle was a yellow-card with a very harsh warning, it was a poor tackle but I've seen people stay on after much worse. Anyone else watching Wigan and Chelsea in absolute awe? Seriously, Chelsea are looking the poorer team and Wigan are very unlucky not to be in front from what I've seen.
  8. Why post exactly the same thing in both Transfer and the Club's offical threads within a minute of one another? If you're going to post each and every single piece of news at very least make sure you, yourself comment upon it. I believe G-O-D was warned of the same thing quite a while ago, so I'm just giving you the heads-up before the same thing happens to you.
  9. Van Persie with the second, game over Newcastle. Just as they looked to be stringing together they're first attack after a heavy defensive spell, they get caught on the break. Gotta really feel sorry for Newcastle, with 10-men they've played well and fought until the very end. EDIT: 2-0 Arsenal at full-time, can't wait to hear from Souness on the sending-off and penalty. Chelski and Wigan next, I know who I'm cheering for.
  10. 1-0 Arsenal, Henry penalty after 80 minutes. Hard luck for Newcastle, they seemed to be playing for a draw and for the most part defended well; a real sickener given the controversy over the sending off in the first half. Sadly for them, It doesn't look like they'll be able to get back into it.
  11. I never really had the patience to 'get into' Radiohead, possibly because the only people I knew that liked them were a bunch of elitest cunts. Once I started listening to them properly, I began to apreciate them and would rate them one of my favourite bands. There's a lot of other bands I kind of had first opinions about, even without hearing them. Pantera would probably be the best example as at a time I thought they played nothing but some real hardcore or heavy shit, It wasen't until I started listening to some of they're albums in they're entirity that I realised they had some great melodic stuff.
  12. It's half-time at Arsenal/Newcastle, still goalless but a decent match thus far. Jenas was sent off for a debatable challenge, hardly worthy of a straight red though. EDIT: @ Streaker
  13. Liverpool have just drawn 0-0 with 10-man Middlesbrough. Hardly the start many seemed to be expecting from them...
  14. :pinch: Decided to make Ronaldo my captain this morning rather than Van Der Sar on the opinion that he'd probably do great against Everton whereas the keeper would hardly be kept busy. You can only imagine how pissed I was when I found out that Ronaldo was rested/injured and that Van Der Sar played a blinder. Just my luck also that Kilbane, who didn't miss a single game last season for Everton, was left out of the starting line-up and came on as an anonymous sub towards the end.
  15. Good win today, Everton away as an opening fixture is always a potential banana skin and to win by two goals in such circumstances is a great result. In fairness, Everton fans will surely feel unlucky in the end. They fought well for large periods in the first half and our second goal was as a result of a poor mistake from Yobo. Both Rooney and Van Nistelrooy were sharp and on top-form, enough at least for us to get the victory.
  16. Mourinho was one of the first to deny all interest in the player, thats why Chelsea are never really quoted as targets. Whereas the likes of Sir Alex and Wenger could be tempted with a lowered asking price, Mourinho doesn't want him at any cost. Also, to the above poster, I fail to see how Owen can fall any lower in the pecking order than last year. If anything, he may even be more likely to break into the first team. Most people are saying how he'll be fifth choice striker but realistically, its unlikely he'll be anything less than third. With both Raul and Baptista pushed back into the midfield, the front pairing will be Ronaldo and Robinho, the latter who will suspectingly miss the first few games due to arriving late at the club. Real Madrid do have more players than last term who can fill in the position, thats not to say they all will.
  17. It's strange to see such rumours pop up this late in the transfer window especially in a situation like this. Gary Neville has always been Mr. Reliable for us and although average at times, he's generally sound in the right-back role. Thats why I fail to see why we're linked with buying a new player when we already have someone more than capable with a year or two left. Surely we have much larger priorities than that. They are two different types of player and in honesty, from what I've seen of him in the Confeds Cup, I wouldn't say no...but the whole thing just seems a little strange to me, granted it would be difficult to just walk right into the first-team and waste to sit on the bench at the price being quoted.
  18. Good battle. (Y) Thanks for the votes/rules, guys.

I suppose an obvious solution would be to get a more up-to-date patch. :\
  20. I thought about getting Rooney when I was first picking a team and I decided against it for a few reasons. For a striker, you're not getting good value for money. He'll score goals this season but not at the level of others, given the fact that he's an entirely different player than the likes of Van Nistelrooy, Henry, etc. As the game will only really rewards strikers for goals, Rooney wouldn't be worth getting for work rate and perhaps assists alone. Then, there's a dilemma over whether of not Van Nistelrooy will return to form and thus be worth the money but thats another argument altogether. Torn between the two, I've now settled for neither with my three mandatory United players being Van Der Saar, Heinze and Ronaldo. As a matter of fact, I've completely reset my team a few times finally settling (for now) with the following; ------------Van Der Saar---------------- Upson---Terry-----Boumsong---Heinze ------------------------------------------- Ronaldo---Carrick----Berson---Kilbane -------------------------------------------- ------------Henry-----Defoe------------- Subs: Carrol, Zamora, Mackay, Flitcroft
