  1. I still play...1.5 though. Just for fun, so I don't intend on getting 1.6/Source either, enough fun owning germans and polish.
  2. Sounds very interesting, especially the part about DJ Spooky being one of the mainorganizers. I think I'll get this CD...
  3. Now dance music, that's a term I have no problem with. But techno I love and listen to everyday, I don't know if I'm at the level of a purist yet but still, it hurts me to see so-obviously-not-techno tunes get referred to as techno. Obviously it doesn't matter to you that much since you don't seem to be a huge fan of it, but that's ok. I guess I was kinda aggressive there, but as I said, I am always irritated by stuff like that. And Booker T & The MG's said the rest of what I wanted to say, really.
  4. Don't be so frigging picky, it pretty much all sounds the same anyway. ←
  5. None of that was techno. The only techno I see in this thread is mentioned by Booker T & The MG's. The Prodigy & Chemical Brothers too...depending on the songs and time. Oh, CD done, nothing to add then.
  6. I haven't seen a topic like this here so...if this is still old, then sorry. So, anyone make music around here? It can be any kind, a band or you and your computer and your program...just interested to hear from you. I make music with my computer, using Reason, Rebirth, Fruity Loops and sound editing programs like Audicity, plus my microfon, which really sucks and I need to get a new one...mostly techno & noise and other electronic music, although I'd really like to sing in a punk band or do reggae, singing (I've practised the accent, believe it or not )and the instruments (although I can't play any...). So?
  7. I mostly listen to music without lyrics, but when I do hear a song with lyrics I never even try to listen to them. Lyrics don't interest me at all and have no effect on my liking of the song usually. That's why rap is pretty meaningless for me, for example.
  8. BTC 107A - Loveparade Execution Force Oh wait, what kind of love song are we looking for? Seriously speaking, I love Kimagure Orange Road - Summer Mirage. I listened to that all the time when I was in love the first time.
  9. Easy. Though I dunno about source, but at least in 1.5 it's done by just writing stuff in console, or the config.cfg directly. For your example, you'd write: bind "(key here, let's use i for example)i" "say hello" Bind's the command, " " is where the bindkey is and the other " " has the bindable command in it. It gets more complicated when implementing binds for buying (scripts) and the sort, and gets even more complicated with aliases...I haven't played around with those so you gotta find out about those on your own.
  10. Any ambient/chill-out/downtempo track there is in the world. Abstract Hip-Hop & Abstract Beats as well.

If you're at all into shoot-em-up's, get Gradius Galaxies. I love the Gradius-series, and it might be the best of them all...though I haven't tried V yet. >_>
  12. Ahh, WWF Attitude, good times, good times... Career Tag was a bitch though.
  13. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Perry Bible Fellowship yet...it's the best. Spacemoose is cool too.
  14. Just anything by The Berzerker.
  15. I only have one PSX/PS2-adapter, so I play all my emulator games with my trusty old PS1-controller. That SNES-adapter would be so cool...I'd prefer a real console though (which I want to buy asap).
  16. I mostly listen to electronic music - techno (schranz, detroit), gabber (hardstyle, new hardcore) and on and on...most people are surprised though when I mention I like J-Pop and classical music as well. J-Pop's kinda obvious though since everyone knows I like anime, so it's kinda weird...
  17. A Very Long Engagement - 8/10 I was expecting an absolute classic like Amelie, which was quite optimistic...this left a somewhat not-so-good taste in my mouth because of that. Still, comparing this movie to Amelie was fun, with the similar style of storytelling and actors and such. This differed in that it was awfully brutal, merciless & sad at times, and comedic and comfortable in the next scenes, which made for some good contrast. Some really beautiful shots of lighthouses and fields as well, the views were great and gave me chills, just imagining the feeling of being up there in that lighthouse. The length was quite draining and exhausting - 2 hours and 30 minutes. I was also kinda sick and had a terrible headache so I was almost suffering in my seat. The movie itself wasn't bad at all and I enjoyed it. Although this doesn't crack my top ten, it does come very close to it.
  18. Well, let's see here... Jeff Mills if you're looking for some detroit techno, Plastikman for psychedelic/minimal techno, Aphex Twin and Squarepusher for some experimental, although they're both more on the jungle-side, Speedy J as well, Rob Hubbard for some VGM (Video Game Music) goodness, for Acid Techno I don't really have any names but I'd say it's pretty easy to bump into, since many artists/songs use acid. Techno compilations may be hard to find, but I'd recommend D-Techno by Gary.D and Technodrome (mixed by DJ Mellow-D). Both have plenty of proggressive techno to enjoy. I'd also recommend to search for some J-Techno, I've only heard small clips of 'em, but from what I've heard, it's wholefully awesome. Edit: Forgot to mention Sven Väth, great techno artist from Germany, and TaQ, he's the only J-Techno artist I know.
  19. I dunno, I found VII at least harder that VIII...and storylines I don't focus that much on, more on the gameplay, sidequests etc. Oh yeah, the best FF. Nowadays I prefer 9 over 7, I just fancy it more. 7 is an awesome game too though, so it would be best for you to buy both. 6 & 10 I haven't played...I'm gonna though! Anytime now...
  20. Kill Bill Volume 2: **** Lost In Translation: **** Yeah, I don't watch a lot of movies. I've wondered though, what is it with people not seeing LIT?
