  1. And getting into the latter stages of the Champions League in 2009. Maybe Dan just isn't very good at counting? CL winners in 2005, never hit that height again = downward. Actually fuck it, I agree with rockbox, all hail rockbox and his wonderful knowledge of Liverpool. Bloody armchair supporter. Of course another champions league final and a second place finish with a big points total is nothing. But it isn't winning something, is it? No but to say because we've been on the on ye downward slide since 2005 is a bit simplistic. It's not black and white like that, I'd say we massively improved for a few seasons after that but after we didn't win the league when we finished 2nd we've been going backwards

  3. I'm not sure. Last summer was difficult for FSG because, after Kenny inevitably became such a huge improvement on Roy, really they had very little choice but to give him the job. I also don't recall their being quite so many high profile managers out of a job - at the moment there's the likes of Capello, AVB, Benitez, and possibly some international managers after the Euros as well. It's not gonna be Rafa, I just can't see him wanting to work with a DoF. It won't be Capello I don't think because it seems they want a younger manager. And AVB would be a risk I think after his time at Chelsea, he hardly set the world on fire and if you believe Stok's stories about the way he handled players do we really need more back room drama? It's such a tricky position, we're definitely the sixth most attractive team in the Premiership for a manager despite our huge reputation but there's this massive expectation from a big section of our fanbase which is that we should be winning everything and that the likes of Gardiola or Moriniho would be beating down our doors.
  4. I'll let someone else take a chance on him, thanks. We may not be at the top level anymore in terms of our league position but we're still a big club, with an insane amount of pressure and scrutiny on us every single year. That's not the situation you want to bring a young, untried manager into. But a manager who has won the prem couldn't do it. What makes you so sure another, different, tried manager can? Kenny was a gamble. I never thought he should get the job full-time, he'd been out for football management for a decade, and his success came when the club was in a completely different place and era. Out of curiosity who would you have gone for?
  5. More often than not they don't. Martinez has a worse record at Wigan than Steve Bruce. So what if they play slightly better football then the rest of the shit around them for the last 8 games or so of every season? True, but I'm not going to Start foaming at the mouth like a lot of fans will, it's a risky move, very risky and the past god knows how many years have taught me that more often than not our risks don't work. But there's no guarantees with anything in football, if we'd brought in Klopp or Dechamps who's to say that will work? I really don't know what to make of it.
  6. He's completely unproven at a high level. But that said sometimes these things just work. I'm gonna take a wait and see approach, he's not the worst person we could have gone after, far from it. I do feel that this is the type of person FSG wanted all along, a young up and coming manager as a longer term project. And bringing someone in from abroad has just as many risks as appointing someone like Martinez albeit different ones
  7. Just seen on the BBC website, we've approached Wigan to talk to Martinez. I expected it to be honest, and it's not ye worst decision in the world. It's a risk, but so is any new manager. The RAWK crowd won't like it though

Good memories of watching that in Uni with my mates and Denny Crane never fails to crack me up. Shame Father Ted has zero chance of making it through 'cause it's a great bit of British comedy. The having to vote on every match up means that I'm having to randomly pick sometimes and I think it's gonna artificially alter the votes, but I can see why it's been done.

I've never seen Breaking Bad, but really really don't like Bottom so breaking bad wins. I never got Lost and lied ER, especially the earlier seasons. Buffy or Python was a hard decision, like both, but in the end I went for Python mainly because I love the films

I started watching Community a week ago and I'm now hooked! Fools and Horses and Blackadder are two of my all time favourite shows and if they don't go through it's a travesty! Never seen some of the programmes, especially Waking Dead so The Tick got a free pass based on the fact I remember watching that on Fox Kids once.

    Rugby!

Grand Slam win was amazing. So much better than the last two because this time we were favourites going in, held up well to the pressure and groin out results. We played sone good rugby as well. Even better that the team is so young, and the likes of North, Warberton, Cuthbert and Faletau are just going to get better and better.

    Rugby!

Good performance from Wales yesterday, Halfpenny was superb, and I'd sooner see him on the wing sited of Culthbert because he looks so much more dangerous there. Shame to see North limp off, hopefully he'll be fit for the England game

    Rugby!

Cracking game this afternoon. Both teams were good, I may be a bit biased but I think Wales definitely deserved the win. Priestland was poor and shouldn't have kicked as long as he did, which made life harder for us. And how Bradley Davies wasn't sent off I'll never know. Lucky lucky boy!

    Doctor Who

That was a strange one. It wasn't bad at all, it just didn't seem like any episode I've seen. I enjoyed it yes, but I'm not quite sure what to make of it. The ending was incredibly sweet though, a lovely way to end the episode and bring about the start of closure to Amy and Rory's story.
  19. Until a few months ago, I'd have said Ryan Giggs, but then ya know. Most people seem to like Beckham, or at least respect him. In other sports, I've never heard a bad word said about Shane Williams, and he always seems like a good bloke when he's interviewed

    WWE '12

Every week on raw it books a match between Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton and a non title match between Alberto Del Rio and Shawn Michaels. I get that their feuding, but the same match every week? And it's never a gimmick match and it's always the first two matches of the show.
  22. I haven't been hear to say this, but fuck you Allan Rolland! Yes that was a spear tackle, yes it's a yellow card offence, but necer in a million years a straight red! It killed the game after 20 mins. Yes Hook's kicking was poor, but 60 mins with 14 men was always going to take it's toll. And we were awesome! Loosing Adam jones early hurt as well. Just totally gutted because a fucking referee, made a bad call!
  23. But he's a space in The squad that thoretically could play absoloutly no part in any game if England go out early. Everyone qho goes should be able to play a part in any game. Rooney is quality, but he's suspended for the group games and on that basis shouldn't be going.

    The Avengers

They just seem to have cast everyoe so well, shame no Ed Norton as Banner but other than that slight thing it looks to be a little bit epic
