I cannot see Chris Lytle being a top welterweight. He'll always been a solid fighter, but I am fairly sure that will always lose, like he has in the past, to top level welterweights. I just don't see him as being that great. Very good, solid fighter, just not top level. But the win for Leben is certainly something good. Not sure how MPH can just brush it off as him "beating a horribly overrated Japanese guy."

Excellent card. Sotiropoulos vs. Pellegrino got the night off to a great start. Sosynski/Bonnar put on a better fight than the last one. Great fight and great to see Bonnar pick up the win. No surprise in Lytle/Brown having a good fight. And Leben! Awesome job by him tonight. I am all for him vs. Wanderlei Silva like he called out. And Lesnar surviving that first round to come back and win with a submission, great stuff.

Enjoyed Petruzelli vs. Romero. Petruzelli looked good in round one. I'd like to see him get one more shot. Schaub with a nice knockout. And damn that knockout slam by Harris was awesome.

He's crazy. He's a natural welterweight and should be there fighting those guys and not guys who will be a lot bigger than he is. He was in real trouble against Dan Henderson in the first round and came back to win that only because Henderson tired out and did nothing for the last three rounds. Anderson Silva won't tire out and Shields will not be any match for him.

To show that they have no interest in matching the UFC deal, Strikeforce just fired Jake Shields last night. Scott Coker's been talking for a few weeks about doing a middleweight tournament and not getting into a bidding war with UFC over him. So he's now able to sign with UFC right away though he cannot fight until his 90-day suspension for that brawl is over with in I believe September.

I know earlier this year Big John was assigned as a judge at WEC 46 when they were in California, which shows that they don't keep him away from Zuffa promotions. I am not sure if he actually attended though, can't find that information.

He doesn't have a contract with any promotion. The commissions assign referees and he doesn't have a license to officiate in the state of Nevada. He does in California and a few other places, but he just doesn't have one in Nevada anymore. The only reason he isn't in UFC is because commissions never assigned him to ref there.

That was awesome. Amazing job, Fabricio threw punches, landed none of them, sunk in the triangle and armbar at the same time and caused Fedor to tap out, simply amazing. Dana has upgraded from during the Strikeforce brawl a few months back to for this now.
