  1. Meltzer is indicating the PPV looks to be doing in the range of 800,000, which if the case, is great numbers. Silva's PPV buys are usually in the range of anywhere from 350-450,000. I think they will do Sonnen/Belfort in the winter and then hopefully if Sonnen wins they can do the next TUF based on Silva and Sonnen. Though who knows if Silva would be up for that, but he has appeared on the show before, so he might. But that would be a great season of TUF and more than enough time to build for the rematch and would do in the range of a million buys if this 800,000 is any thing to go by.
  2. That's what I was thinking. Legitimately, Sonnen never looked to me like he was getting close to finishing the fight. He was wearing the guy out, but I think it speaks volumes that the guy who got messed up most facially was Sonnen, even after all the control the guy had. I also agree with EBG. Silva was doing some good defensive work off of his back, and making it hard for Sonnen to do some substantial work/damage. I don't think it really says anything. Sonnen just cuts easily, he probably has a lot of scar tissue that needs to be removed or something, because he was a bloody mess after his Marquardt fight as well.
  3. Ortiz saying after his loss to Griffin that he had a "cracked skull" was great. Yeah, like a commission is gonna allow him in there with a cracked skull.
  4. To be fair, he had a fair number of punches that were those kinds of punches that you'd see from someone like Nick Diaz. Punches that are more annoyances, landing and getting points, but not damaging strikes.
  5. An interesting stat: --Chael Sonnen's 289 total strikes was a CompuStrike UFC record. An interesting note is that Anderson Silva was hit more times last night than in his previous 11 UFC fights combined (208).
  6. What a great performance by Chael Sonnen, bringing the fight to Anderson Silva like he said he would, rocking him and dominating him for four rounds. Sucks that he got caught with the triangle choke at the end (and I was getting flashbacks to his fight with Paulo Filho when it looked like he he claimed he didn't tap but really did, good thing in his interview after he didn't say he didn't tap ). I say give him the rematch, he's done more to earn it for those four rounds than Vitor Belfort did in defeating Rich Franklin at a catchweight of 195. And a rematch certainly bring in more money than that fight would. 117 probably did more than a normal Silva card due to Sonnen hyping it big time, probably in the 400-450,000 range. A rematch could easily do more than 500,000.
  7. White already said if Shields has a better performance than Fitch/Alves, he'd get the first shot. And as for White saying if Alves wins he gets a shot, who's so say he will keep that promise now? He's always said he doesn't reward people who miss weight. He doesn't give them bonuses if the miss weight (with the exception of Anthony Johnson on a card that was full of changes due to injuries). So he can easily say that since he didn't make weight that he won't give the shot to Alves if he wins. But then again I am sure Fitch will win this fight anyways so it's going to be a non-issue.
  8. I joined Kaney's game and we kicked ass.
  9. He did that everytime someone was being attacked. It refused to do anything whereas your Coach would pick people off with snipers all day.
  10. You do you lying piece of shit
  11. It was. Worst part was Rocksta opening the door when Maxx was all "wait until I return!" But we did a decent job holding you guys off except for the Ellis character going out and being dumb.
  12. And not only that, I was just playing multiplayer the other day.
  13. You just said you wanted to redeem yourself by making a rant and then go back on that?
  14. But the CHARACTERS they are so BRILLIANT!

  16. Still hasn't dropped in price yet according to Gamestop, but hopefully soon it begins to drop in price as I'd like to play it. Maybe around the start of fall it'll drop in price.
  17. (Y) Everyone already knows you do that job, Dan.
  18. Nah sorry Ellis, I can enjoy just joking around with this sort of stuff with people knowing full well I'd never do it, you on the other hand just repress your homosexual urgess and try to put them on other people and dream of not only teabagging kids but probably fucking them since it is always on your mind.
  19. Ortiz/Griffin was 106, Couture/Vera 105, I like being a pedant. That's right. Too many shows, numbers get mixed up.
  20. 120 will be a Spike show, so no not two PPVs. Just like 106 with Vera/Couture was on Spike and a week later there was a PPV with 107 Ortiz/Griffin 2.
  21. White announced Lesnar vs. Velasquez for UFC 121 in October.
  22. So instead of doing a tournament to crown the new middleweight champion, Strikeforce has decided to go with Jacare Souza against Tim Kennedy. Though the tournament could determine the next challenger if they decide to go that route. Also on this card for August 21 will be King Mo defending the light heavyweight title against Rafael Feijao and KJ Noons vs. Jorge Gurgel. Bobby Lashley will be on it by no opponent announced yet.
  23. That sucks. I was really looking forward to that fight, had the makings of an exciting fight. Oh well, but since Mizugaki was pulled from the card, I assume they want to reschedule it so we'll still see it eventually, which is good. In more WEC news, they are putting two guys involved in fight of the year candidates at WEC 51 with Mark Hominick vs. Leonard Garcia. The Korean Zombie also makes his return there as he faces George Roop and most likely Jose Aldo defending against Manny Gamburyan.
