  1. Disc swapping is very much a thing of the past because even disc-based games are just installed to the internal storage of modern consoles. The disc is just a file installation device and a means for the console to check you own the game legitimately.
  2. Astarion's voice actor has claimed that there's a secret two-hour section of the game that nobody appears to have found yet. It seemingly requires a very specific set of steps to find. I hope this leads to a wild goose chase the likes of which we haven't seen since Pokemon Red and Blue.
  3. It says a lot that only three of them started the Champions League final just two years later.
  4. It's written by Swery, which appeals to me. With any luck, it will mean that the game will mix his signature bizarre writing with actually good gameplay.
  5. Like a Dragon: Gaiden and Like a Dragon: Ishin will both be day one Game Pass inclusions.
  6. I wouldn't get your hopes up to a massive degree, but there will be one or two Game Pass announcements.
  7. The Cyberpunk 2077 expansion is getting very good reviews. It seems that the game is finally close to what it was supposed to be nearly three years ago.
  8. The end of this year is loaded too. The new Cyberpunk update is getting a lot of positive preview coverage, and will come out next week. In October, there's Total War: Pharaoh, Wargroove 2, Forza, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Cities: Skylines 2 and Metal Gear Solid Master Collection for me. Spiderman 2 will obviously be massive for others, as will Alan Wake 2 and UFC 5 to a slightly lesser extent. November has Football Manager 2024, Persona 5 Tactica and the Super Mario RPG remake. There's no chance that I can buy or get through all of those, so the ones on Game Pass will be priorities. Some of the others could be nice to look at later on, when they're a bit cheaper.
  9. As a result of an FTC cock-up, several details of upcoming Xbox hardware and games have been leaked (as of 2020):
  10. The biggest thing they need to sort out in future games is the club/manager AI. You've got all these features that are meant to make the game world more dynamic, such as tycoon takeovers, changing club philosophies and prize money alterations, but you always end up seeing the same few teams get promoted and relegated. Whenever an AI club gets more money, it will just bring in players of the same calibre as before, but on hugely inflated wages and transfer fees. Plenty of Youtubers do hundred-plus-year experiments, and the result is that virtually nothing changes, even if they give clubs enormous amounts of money or the best staff. I remember playing older Championship Manager/Football Manager games and seeing so much more change in how the game world looked after a few years. Maybe it was less realistic, but it was more fun. Right now, it seems that you're operating in a static database of which only your little corner sees any development.
  11. I wish every race could be this close.

    Starfield

I quite enjoyed Ryujin by the end. Having a few options to affect the story outcome was nice.
  13. It's all a bit strange. Console is slightly more expensive, and you get day one games, but then you can't play online. I can see retail staff tying themselves in knots to explain it to confused customers.
  14. It does have online play. Otherwise, you wouldn't get very far in Elder Scrolls Online.
  15. The third round of matches will have Australia v Wales and Ireland v South Africa, at least. The one after that is likely to be another series of one-sided affairs, before the last pool matches that will include Ireland v Scotland and possibly Argentina v Japan as significant games.
  16. A remastered Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is very welcome. I don't know how well it will go down as a final announcement, though.
  17. Just like last September, Sony is putting on a State of Play showcase on the same day as a Nintendo Direct. This one will focus on third-party games, however, so adjust your expectations accordingly. I wonder if it's not too early to see more of the Silent Hill 2 remake.
  18. Given that Sony and Microsoft, as distributors, would have to foot the bill as distributors of games on PS Plus and Game Pass, it's hard to see this getting very far. Actually going through with this would ensure that nobody ever uses Unity ever again.
  19. The full list of games in the Game Pass Core service, which is replacing Xbox Live Gold, has been revealed. It's a very good crop, all in all.
  20. A Nintendo Direct is going to take place at 3pm UK time tomorrow.
