  1. That's 60 international goals for Kane. That's eleven more than Bobby Charlton, who had more caps than Kane has now.
  2. What's particularly surprising is that Frontier managed to make Planet Coaster, in which every guest has their own personality traits and tastes, but then made all the drivers in F1 Manager have no personalities whatsoever.
  3. F1 Manager has once again fallen below sales expectations, meaning that Frontier will lay off an as yet undisclosed number of employees. A bit of good news is that F1 Manager 2023 is coming to Game Pass on Thursday. I do hope that gives the game a bit more of a player base because, despite the game's lack of certain features, I really hope the series can continue to exist and grow.

    Metal Gear

The games are being released separately as well. It's still probably expensive for a single game that's 25 years old, though.
  5. I've never seen Queens of the Stone Age, but I did once see Homme with Them Crooked Vultures. It was one of the most boring, self-indulgent shows I've ever witnessed.
  6. It sounds as though it's more of the same, which will be enough for a lot of people. I thought the other ones were fun, even though the characters and story didn't do much for me, so this is the sort of thing I would probably play when it comes to Playstation Plus.
  7. Spain beat Norway, meaning that Scotland have qualified.

    Don't forget Like a Dragon.
  9. France have a reasonably young team and should be big contenders in 2027, but they'll still be gutted. Missing the opportunity to win on home soil when they were arguably favourites will be a big setback to get over.

    Metal Gear

Yes, the original Metal Gear is mostly the same story-wise on NES and MSX, but with a few things removed from the NES version due to the technical limitations of the platform. Snake's Revenge was made without Kojima's knowledge, but it's somewhat historically significant as it encouraged him to make a "true" Metal Gear sequel that otherwise wouldn't have been his top priority. In a way, it was the catalyst for the property becoming a series instead of a one-off game.
  11. That's four thrilling quarter finals. This is shaping up to be the most entertaining World Cup ever. Somehow, England are the only unbeaten team left in, and that was nearly not the case with the Samoa match. It's an exciting time for world rugby, even if we'll almost certainly end up with the usual suspects in the final.
  12. Great entertainment so far. England should consider it a great success if they don't lose by more than twenty points next week.

    Metal Gear

I hope the collection works well enough because the extras are especially enticing for someone like me. Having all the manuals, strategy guides and graphic novels as part of the package is great, but the thing I'm most interested in is the inclusion of Metal Gear Solid Integral. For those who don't know, Integral is a version of Metal Gear Solid that was never released outside Japan. By and large, it's the same game western audiences got, but with a few additions. First, there's a new "Very Easy" mode that gives you a silenced MP5 with unlimited ammunition right from the start of the game. It's not something most people would need because the game isn't especially difficult anyway, but running and gunning through everything is probably quite fun. More interestingly, once you've completed the game at least once, Integral has the option to play through most of the game in first-person mode. Unlike MGS's regular first-person view, you can still use your weapons, which is something that otherwise can't be done unless you play the Twin Snakes remake. There's also a special "alternate round" mode you can select for subsequent playthroughs, which changes the guards' patrol patterns and gives you a few alternate camera angles during cutscenes. It should be a really good way for veterans to experience the game in a different way. I also saw that you can tinker with a virtual memory card in the game menus. It lets you add game save data from Konami's other games so that you can hear Psycho Mantis' bonus mind-reading dialogue. I agree that this would be a good addition. Snake's Revenge isn't canon either, and strictly speaking, neither is the NES version of the first Metal Gear. A couple of "in the know" members of the games media have said that MGS 4 will be in the second collection, whenever that comes out, which is great news. That game has been stuck on PS3 for too long.
  14. These quarter finals are a bit exciting.
  15. It's a bit of a shame that we've reverted to Southern Hemisphere supremacy after all the groups were won by Northern Hemisphere nations. It would have shaken things up a bit to have an NH team other than England or France reach the final for the first time.
  16. This will haunt Ireland for a long time. New Zealand's defence was superb, but that's a big opportunity missed.
  17. Ireland have to take this opportunity now. What they do in the next ten minutes with New Zealand down a player will be so crucial. I just can't see it myself. I don't think they have the discipline to grind out matches against the best teams at the moment.
  18. In all likelihood, France/South Africa and Ireland/New Zealand will decide the two finalists. It's not looking great for Ireland at the moment.
  19. I liked the general idea of Guitar Hero Live, even though I never played it. I know that Just Dance has an annual subscription option that gives you access to a big library of songs from previous games, and I think that would be a great option for games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band to have. Just make it one of those "live service" games and keep a big catalogue of songs instead of churning out sequels every year.
  20. A remake of Tony Hawk 3 and 4 was being worked on until Activision decided to make Vicarious Visions put all their resources into Call of Duty and Diablo co-development. There's bound to be a studio Microsoft could get to finish the job if they want to.
  21. I can't say I saw that coming. Argentina reaching the semi-finals after how poor they were in the group stage underlines how much weaker that side of the draw is.
  22. Something that always strikes me about Mike Flanagan's shows is how many of the same actors keep showing up. It must make casting a lot easier.
  23. It's been a big fuss for the last eighteen months. I must have overestimated how much it has permeated into the mainstream.
  24. According to some reports, the newest Activision games won't come to Game Pass until next year. In the meantime, it's more likely that a few of the older games will start appearing.
  25. This can't have been the first you've heard of it, surely. Today is the day that the deal has been confirmed and approved.
