  1. Monster Hunter just isn't for me. I'm not a big fan of slowly chipping away at a massive health bar over and over again.
  2. I was expecting a Baldur's Gate 3 release date. They just had an advert and didn't mention it.
  3. I just can't look at Sam Lake without seeing Max Payne. It's hard for me to believe he's a real person and not wearing a mask.
  4. I've always found it odd that only a few of the award winners get to make acceptance speeches. Why does the action-adventure winner get one, but not the RPG winner? I'm not complaining, though. The show is long enough as it is.
  5. It seems a little bit cocky that the Zelda bloke had the acceptance speech pre-written on his phone.
  6. It doesn't make a huge amount of sense if you have played it.
  7. Given that it's being published by Microsoft, I would expect it to be on Game Pass.
  8. It's the time of year again for adverts, stage invasions and Geoff Keighley reminding us that he's friends with Hideo Kojima.
  9. The thing with ABBA is that there are loads of people who love singing along to their songs in any context. That's why there are regular ABBA tribute shows in every theatre in the country and why people would see the Mamma Mia films at the cinema multiple times. It's no wonder that their hologram show has been selling out for months and months in London. Kiss don't have anywhere near that kind of popularity. They were eventually giving away tickets for their most recent UK tour for under £5. Even if their live show is spectacular, they've been performing and touring the same one for decades now, and seeing the same thing with PS3 avatars probably isn't going to hold the same appeal as it does for ABBA, who stopped touring many years ago. As much as people are suggesting that this technology could allow people to see virtual concerts in their local village halls, the technology is dependent on the venue having exactly the right layout so that all the lighting effects work properly. That's why the ABBA show has its own custom-made building that they will eventually dismantle and take somewhere else once it moves away from London. Either you do that and spend a mountain of money you'll never recoup unless you're a massive act or you settle for sub-standard projections, and at that point, you might as well just watch a VHS.
  10. I'd rather be in the presence of a virtual Gene Simmons than the real one.

    GTA VI

To be fair, it's going to be a while whether you have the new consoles or not.

    GTA VI

GB News tweeted last week that people are worried about the game being woke. I do enjoy the fact that interactive murder sprees are less concerning to some people than gender diversity.

    GTA VI

Rockstar have confirmed that the game will be coming to Xbox Series X/S and PS5, but there's no mention of a PC version. Once again, it seems that they're going to stagger the releases. I'm sure you can expect a PS6 remaster a couple of years later as well.
  14. I think Unpacking is the kind of game that epitomises what I want most video game storytelling to be like. It shows without telling, letting the player learn about the backstory through actual gameplay. For all the effort put into making games into "emotional" Hollywood-esque blockbusters, the simpler approach usually does it far more effectively. I'm saying that as a Metal Gear fan, so I'm aware of the hypocrisy. Somehow, that kind of ridiculously indulgent claptrap does it for me.

    GTA VI

I suppose the female protagonist is still somewhat significant because the playable characters in the first game were just palette swaps. It's still something to point out to those who decry so-called wokeness, though. I also think there are a fair number of people who see GTA 3 as the unofficial "first" game in the series. It was the first 3D one and the point at which the franchise became massive. It's quite telling that virtually nobody asks for a new GTA in the style of the original three (if we're counting GTA London as a separate game) games, whereas you'll see that a lot with series like Resident Evil and Final Fantasy.

The radio soundtrack is one of the most important things for me. With apologies to San Andreas, I still think Vice City's radio stations haven't been beaten for sheer fun.

But delays are a Rockstar tradition. It wouldn't be right without at least two.

    GTA VI

It looks as though the feel of Vice City has been captured, which is nice. I'd take the 2025 release window with a lot of scepticism, though.
  19. "He knows the club, knows the fans, knows the ground, knows the kit man!", etc.
  20. Reasonable draws for England and Scotland, but a potentially terrible one for Wales if they get there.
  21. England Women need to beat Scotland for Great Britain to still have a chance of qualifying for the Olympics. What a strange set of circumstances.
  22. The new update adds a custom difficulty mode, which lets you adjust several aspects of the game through various sliders. If only Elden Ring had that too.
  23. I've come across more than one person who spoke fondly about the first Alan Wake, tried to replay it and then soured on it quickly. I thought it was a good game that could, and probably should, have been great. Alan Wake 2 is well regarded by critics and seems to include more of the features originally planned for the first game, such as a semi-open world and a larger amount of live action content. It's something I find quite intriguing, both in a way that reminds me of FMV cutscenes in the 90s and an appreciation of Remedy's characteristic oddness.
  24. Chelsea generally seem to bring in players and managers who are good on paper, but they're underachieving to a remarkable degree. With the resources and pulling power they still have, they ought to be a top four side at the very least.
