  1. So the NBA and Nike announced today that they are getting rid of the traditional home/away jerseys for every team.

Coinciding with the introduction of the new uniforms, the NBA is eliminating its “Home” and “Road” uniform designations. Beginning with the 2017-18 season, home teams will pick which of their uniforms will be worn at all home games and visiting teams will choose a contrasting uniform within their own assortment.

Because of this change, Nike and the NBA worked together to create four core uniforms for each team, classified as “editions,” which draw from the rich heritage of the NBA and its respective franchises.

The Association Edition, the traditional home white uniform that all 30 teams will have in their assortment, links them as members of the most exclusive basketball club in the world. It represents an achievement that most athletes have worked their entire lives to reach.

The Icon Edition, previously known as the road uniform, represents the rich heritage and iconic identity that exists within each franchise. This edition utilizes the team’s primary color, a color that dominates the closets of the most diehard fans.

Also this season, eight NBA teams will have a Classic Edition uniform that will be available in the fall. The Classic Edition celebrates some of the most iconic uniforms in league history and can be worn at each team’s discretion.

Haven't liked what I've seen of the previews so far. Also not happy the Jazz are getting a gold jersey. I'm sure I'll get used to them eventually and at least they're not the sleeved the jerseys.

  2. He's already a star according to his dad. Five years from now, Lonzo will have five championships, five MVPs, the logo will be changed to him, and Michael Jordan will bow down to him. Shoes? Every player in the NBA will be paying the Balls to wear their shoe.

  3. Ball has looked good so far. Interesting to see how he will do against better defenders.

I'm liking the Jazz's moves yesterday. Signing tough vets to cheap, short deals is probably the best option we had after Hayward took so long. Gotta hope that Exum or Hood blow up next year.

Also, been hearing rumors that the Jazz could be involved in a mega deal that will change the way the entire roster looks. I don't believe it since the Jazz front office never lets anything leak about what they're thinking or doing.

  4. Not with two days off. Let's say they play on a Tuesday. Fly out right after the game or the next morning. Have all of Wednesday, all of Thursday and most of Friday to rest before playing again on Friday night. That isn't enough rest time got a pro athlete to recover in?

  5. I would say just do top 16 teams, regardless of conference standings. I don't buy the argument that they don't want a team from the West playing a team from the east in the first round because of the flight time needed to get to the other city. They already have two days in between games usually.

I don't know if it's worth it because it could be a Hardened or something but you can get HOF cards for 20K in BG points

I've thought about. I have about 22k saved up right now. So I could either buy 2 single Ultimate cards, a pair of Elite cards, or a single Hall of Fame card.

  7. Maybe I am. I just know that after rooting for the Jazz to draft him, watching him struggle his first few years, defending him to other Jazz fans who said we should trade him because he was inconsistent and not a star, to watching him and this team finally come together and, not only make the playoffs, but win in the first round, I have a very sour taste in my mouth about the way he left.

Does he owe us anything? Hell no. Is he free to make his own choice about where to play and why? Yes. Do I have every right to be upset and think he could have handled it differently and also not to believe a word him or his agent say? Yes, I do.

  8. That's probably the best thing about being a Jazz fan. Rarely ever have to worry about a bad contract.

Hayward's agent did an interview with a Utah radio station today. He is so full of shit. Complaining that Hayward had to pay for his own tickets to meet with Boston and Miami, saying Hayward just wanted a challenge, etc. After everything that has come out the last few days, I'm even more convinced that Hayward knew he was leaving and screwed over the Jazz by waiting. I still hope he be becomes the next Larry Bird, just after he flops for a season or two.

I don't really follow basketball that much other than Raptors stuff (and even then, it's super casual), but how is Vince Carter gonna make $8M!?

In today's NBA, anybody can make any amount of money. Heard of Allan Crabbe? He's a bench player for Portland...and he signed a 4 year, $75 million contract last season.

Also, some of the owners of teams in the West are trying to get the NBA to change the way playoff seeding happens. Mark Cuban mentioned out 7 of the smallest market teams are in the West and since the east coast teams are in bigger markets, they know they don't have to do as much as teams in the West do go stay competitive and get more money. He makes complete sense to me.
