"Wow talent is pretty thin already and there are barely any teams you can consider serious title contenders so adding more to teams to the mix won't fix that problem"

    "CONTRACT ALL THE TEAMS THEN~!!1!!"

Let me know if you feel like talking about the massive amount of middle ground those two ideas.

I was more referring to your "two more teams with no realistic chance to win a title" comment. If you want every team to be a title contender, the contracting to six or so teams is the way to do it. Personally, I agree with @Red Devil-Taker316. I think 24-26 teams would be perfect for the talent level and to have the best basketball played every night. But, since the NBA is a money-driven business, they will never again contract a team. So, why not add more? Rivalries will mean more as some teams won't play each other four times a year, teams that want to rest their best players will have more chances to against the crappier teams, and the two cities with the added teams will have a few more dedicated fans.

Is it perfect? Hell no. Will the level of basketball played drop? Maybe a little. Are there pros and cons to staying put, contracting, or expanding that we could sit here and debate all day? Definitely.

  2. I can't stand Doc Rivers (overrated), Blake Griffin (injury prone, no work effort, crybaby), or Jordan (dirty asshole). I don't mind Chris Paul when he's not whining. Would love to see him on the Jazz actually. So yea, I'm pretty happy to see them going back to the bottom like they always have been.

He said if the Blazers don't want him, so I don't think that matters much considering he went to school in Utah and is from California. I would be open to trading either him or CJ, though, but I'd want a guy who can play one of the guard positions and can play D, cause both Dame and CJ are not good defenders. I don't see a trade we could make happen with Utah that would move the needle for the Blazers. Plus, Lillard and Turner in that trade would be $40 million that would have to work out in the trade. Using the trade machine, the only way to dump both Lillard and Turner to Utah we'd have to take back Favors, Burks and Joe Johnson plus someone like Rodney Hood.

I would do that in a heartbeat. Would suck losing Favors but getting Dame back in return would be amazing. I know it's never going to happen, at least not for another four years, but it's always fun to think about.

And if you're looking for guards that defend, Hood and Burks are not the answer.

  4. @The Big Bratwurst I think the Blazers need to give up on Lillard like the Bulls gave up on Butler. He's already said he wants to play for the Jazz or Lakers if Portland doesn't want him anymore. So why not make a trade to the Jazz happen now? We would gladly take one of those other big contracts off your hands.

Loved listening to Donovon Mitchell interview after the draft. Always nice to hear a player say he wants to play in Utah.

  5. For George, teams are thinking that since he's already said he wants to leave, why trade anything for him when you can just sign him next year. At least, that's what the Lakers are thinking. Other teams probably don't want to give up too much for a one year rental who will just sign with the Lakers next summer.

For Butler, I have no idea.

  6. This has probably been the most exciting week leading up to the draft in a long time. Could be even bigger if Paul George or Jimmy Butler end up traded.

Also, there's been talk among a few GMs of trying to get the NBA to move free agency to before the draft, not after, like the NFL. I would be totally for this. One of the GMs mentioning it is the Jazz's and he make a good point. Not knowing if Hayward is staying or not totally affects the way we draft this week.
