    SAINTS ROW IV

Top five or so moments in the game are based on the soundtrack: I had to take it back to Redbox with the game probably mostly completed. Excited to see where the last act goes for you guys, though.

This is a little spoilery but we're already digging in at this point. I love that this is a pitch-perfect parody of Mass Effect in more ways than just your VP.

Pretty sure the only thing that gets carried over is your character, if you so choose. Not that it really matters anyway. This game is nothing like The Third at all. Only the engine/controls are all that similar.
  4. Oh my god. I just, I have to spoil the first scene of this game because it is wonderful:
  5. IT AIN'T ME IT AIN'T ME I AIN'T NO SENATOR'S SON, NAW IT AIN'T ME IT AIN'T ME I AIN'T A FORTUNATE ONE
  6. It is reputation that creates stats, talent, and fortitude. With our seventh pick, we felt that these things must always be in the mind of the deep south. We choose BJ Whitmer.
  7. And we've hit the first shortlisted guy I've never heard of! He's the reigning CZW World champion (not that I blame you). Drew Gulak is the midwestern form of statistical violence. His championship abilities only prove that his numerical barometer and strong style skill will have great success in the deep south.
  8. To EG, I'll be perfectly fine keeping my shortlist that I sent you for now. Will be checking the thread for if that massively changes, though.
  9. I choose a man who is so unequivocal in his statistical skill that he was a beast of power. It is that the deep south's minds view unity as an important construct to physical success. The Havana Pitbulls are united. I draft Ricky Reyes.
  10. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3UtEYGaz83gcGIySW84X2JKa0E/view?sle=true Pastapadre posted up full overall scores for each player and team. A lot of these are unsurprising, though it still amuses me how many teams have FIVE QBs and also that the Jets' highest rated QB is a 73 (two way tie between Sanchez and Geno Smith).
  11. Turned on the strategic map thing on my shitty computer Civ5 and holy shit, things got so much faster. It's like a playable game with no absurd load times for me now.
  12. It is in the thought process of the statistical minds of the deep South that a performer must know how to kick and wear suits. He must be a guy who pretty much just kicks people a lot. You know, kicking. Fuck it, I'm drafting Low-Ki.
  13. Pro wrestling is about the creation of maneuvers meant to sell its statistical fortitude. With that in mind, we need a Pitbull. Not Gary Wolfe, but a Havana Pitbull. My selection is Rocky Romero.
  14. Damn damn damn, this is so tempting. Might use the money I got from distant aunts/uncles recently to put it on the steam wallet and buy some TF2 keys to trade for the game. Think it'd be about $17 worth for BNW and $9 for the upgrade, if the price stays consistent among those communities.
  15. The first draft pick for the incredible mix of sporting prowess that will come to you from the deep South's statistical layer: Davey Richards.
  16. I re-watched Dirty Work and Dogma to see how I view them with different eyes, and there was kind of a strange variation in the two. I like Dirty Work as much as I always have, even though it gets pretty cringe-worthy in stretches. But Dogma was harder to watch now, to be honest.
  17. As someone that didn't have Dead Island or Saints Row The Third, this is a damn godsend.
  18. https://twitter.com/acrimsonmask I'm drinking and I'll be live-tweeting Total Divas because that's a thing.

10 seconds in the company, "we'd like you to be blonde" :P

  19. If you looked in the sorted price thing for games under $5, the Time Gentlemen double pack thingy was the cheapest game at $.49 consistently throughout the sale. Otherwise, yeah, it was Just Cause.
  20. By the way, there is a FANTASTIC career bio for him at the AV Club's site: http://www.avclub.com/articles/rip-dennis-farina,100551/ Highlights include how he became a major character actor and mentions of his past life as a detective where, among other things, he later acted alongside someone he arrested.
  21. Excited to buy those summer getaway cards and hoping the value skyrockets over the next few hours/days. Dammit, now I'm Steam-addicted.
  22. I hadn't seen the news item, but it's posted all along Google and here: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/07/22/actor-former-chicago-cop-dennis-farina-dies/ Fuck. And this isn't a fitting tribute, but he's the least embarrassing part of this trailer we saw during EWB TGIF this past Friday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KK3EiCC5A9I RIP.
