So I was the only person in the world that was watching the Masters of Sex pilot on YouTube while the Breaking Bad finale was on, but damn, I really enjoyed it. It is funny because I would watch anyway for Lizzy Caplan, because she's generally awesome. Thankfully, though, they made her a fantastic character in the two eps I've seen so far. Michael Sheen is also fantastic, if a bit too broad as the lead. But yeah, now that Breaking Bad is over, I'm curious if people check this out. I'm more curious if it doesn't turn into another Showtime show with diminishing returns, though.

It's basically "look it's the PlayStation System 5!" There's a device just like the OUYA! My only thing that I dislike in GDT is that I generally wish the game gave me less pure nagging about moving from office to office. I'd love to just develop small PC games for 35 years and pretend I'm Spiderweb Software without every three months getting a "you have enough money to move, let's move!" Although I guess I wouldn't have to change my style much after that...

I believe that's partially the point. I enjoyed playing it for a while last night. I'll probably get another half hour in during lunch. Yeah, I realize I'm fucking awful at it, but the game's genius is that it sort of allows this to be a thing. It also screws up a bit of my primitive (and terrible) style with the fact that I genuinely have to use the magic alongside the manic pressing of the attack button if I want to get anywhere in the game at all.

I don't know why, but I'm not feeling this one too much. I haven't played enough of the individual game to get a good read, but the owner mode is a bit lacking. As goofy as it is, I'm kind of disappointed by how limited the number of relocation towns are in the game. There are cool nods to the olden teams of the league, but I wanted to fuck around and do a Madden 04-style game where every team moves to a new city. The player XP is a little more balanced, but it also pretty much makes having good stats in a single game to be incredibly useless and overbalances practice as the stat builder. Admittedly, these all might be fixed in current gen with patches and I like that they added a position editor, although it is colossally stupid that they relegate that to an offseason thing. It still looks wrong that Denard Robinson is a fourth string running back for the Jaguars and Dexter McCluster is at wideout. I mean, it's fine, but without seeing the game in action enough to notice a difference, it's not really up on my priority list like I thought it would be.

I am amused that Populous 1 is still a thing EA doesn't mind peddling in their collections. It's like "you're putting in a game that is basically as old as I am?" I do like the content we've already gotten, though, but adding Populous doesn't exactly make me regret not taking the BTA.

But yeah, as much as The Third allowed this world to go from goofy San Andreas knockoff to the truly insane and wonderful world it is, it'll be very hard to go back to The Third with what IV does. The powers alone are kind of a whiplash adjustment even in this game, much less the realization of not even having them in The Third.

Yeah, it's basically only wise to use cars during the "getting shot at by about 50 people at once" scenes.
