Yeah, considering that this year's edition prior to the lawsuits getting even remotely serious was being seen as a last chance to boost sagging sales, the market itself seems to be shrinking while the cost of production has risen exponentially. Not to mention, I feel like 2K has been sort of burned by their past negotiation tactics, namely overpaying for MLB coupled with not making a football game for the past several years. It's an awful lot to start at the ground floor with a license these days. I don't think they take that risk at all.

Both of these things, yeah. It helps that it is easier to get the hang of than the original games it is based on. There's a tutorial mission (which also serves as the game's defacto opening) that makes things very clear so that you can just go out and move your units and kill aliens.

When you open up a game, Rece Davis does a little bit of introduction and then it cuts to a short little highlight deal about the home team. It's not much, but it is sort of like the NBA 2K13 intros when you start a game. It's nice.

So, has anyone played this on Season Ticket? I've found myself really enjoying it quite a bit. If money wasn't so impossibly tight, I'd even pick it up. The interface is much better. I don't know if anyone considered it a massive problem in 13, but it's much improved, definitely taking cues from how 2K does their interface for the NBA games. Only complaint is that the skill trees are a bit goofy. You sort of realize that if everyone has the same sort of skill tree improvements, it really doesn't do anything but pad the numbers up. I don't know how there would be a massive improvement to it without breaking realism, but I think they can make the system a bit more rigid. Otherwise, no real complaints. Oh, also the in-game video is pretty sick. Another nice improvement a la the NBA games.

Fun fact: Young ROC's first concert that he can remember was sitting in the nosebleed section of a Creed show circa Weathered. And by fun fact, I mean, OH GOD WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED OH NO ABORT ABORT.

The weird thing about Pearl Jam's self-seriousness is that Eddie seems to be more mellowed about things in recent years. I still remember his bit from Portlandia which sort of played on the absurdity of his vocals in a loving manner and he also seems like a nice dude from what I see/hear of him in interviews and the like.
