  1. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7714658/sources-oklahoma-city-thunder-advanced-negotiations-derek-fisher Figured that was coming.
  2. Shocked to see the Packers on that list. I don't think Tebow will take a spot n the bench if he gets an offer to start...if that's isn't stating the obvious.
  3. I thought them had already casted The Governor?
  4. No, I'm saying that Manning wants to win a title and teams that are coming off consecutive 4-12 seasons don't exactly scream "WE'RE ALMOST THERE!" However, a team that made it to the second round of the playoffs and got Brady-buzzsawed looks a lot more appealing.
  5. Memphis just signed Gilbert Arenas. Interesting signing, I wonder where he'll fit in.
  6. The question is also raised; would Manning have considered the Broncos if they had stuck with Orton and finished 4-12 again? Maybe Manning wouldn't have even considered them as title contenders.
  7. I don't think a quarterback that leads you to the second round of the playoffs could ever be dubbed as a bad draft pick. It's weird how much flack Tebow got for winning.
  8. Hines Ward announced his retirement. Great career, good enough for the Hall?
  9. McGahee averaged 3.8 yards per carry when Tebow was not the quarterback. His average jumped to 5.2 yards per carry when Tebow was in. I think a huge reason the Broncos line looked good was that Tebow made it look good. I can remember a handful of plays that Tebow was left for dead only to spin his way out of trouble and move the ball down the field one way or another. Manning will be sitting on his butt in the same situation next year. Granted, the threat of Manning's passing attack could open the running game just as much as the threat of Tebow's running game did, so this could be a moot point.
  10. Chicago: backup to Rose Miami: possible starter? Chalmers and Cole fit that offense better, though Orlando: backup to Nelson Indiana: backup to Collison Oklahoma City: backup to Westbrook San Antonio: backup to Parker, Spurs already said no LA Lakers: can't resign here LA Clippers: backup to Paul, already said no to the Clippers Memphis Grizzlies: backup to Conley Dallas Mavericks: backup to Kidd and West I doubt he'll sign with Indiana, Orlando, Memphis or Dallas. I really think he'll go to Oklahoma City. It's close to his hometown of Little Rock, and offers a great shot at a ring this year and next. But honestly, I've never seen a bigger hooplah about an over the hill point guard that couldn't drive past a wheelchair.
  11. Semantics, but he was bought out. Apparently, going from the 3rd seed to the 8th seed didn't impress him much. I could see him moving to Tornado Alley, but I really get a sour taste in my mouth from him just deciding "nope, not gonna help Houston, wanna have my ring on a silver platter". I completely agree. He's the face of the player's association and everything goes down this way.
  12. Derek Fisher got cut. I'm assuming he'll go to Oklahoma City. He can provide that veteran leadership they are lacking and can even play with Westbrook on the floor as well, allowing Westbrook to play off the ball more.
  13. The Browns also lost their best offensive weapon to Kansas City.
  14. Robinson was also one of the top producing wide receivers available. He tore it up for the Cowboys last year and outshined Dez Bryant and Miles Austin. That's impressive.
  15. Wow, Broncos schedule is STACKED next year. Seven 2011 playoff teams as well as the Buccaneers (hard to believe they won't at least be competitive with that roster), and also Carolina. Plus divisional games are always tough no matter what the level of talent is.
  16. Does Gabbert have a giant contract? What if they brought him in for Tebow and had Manning tutor him? Elway clearly hates Tebow, and God, so maybe Gabbert could become the quarterback in waiting.
  17. Tebow to Jacksonville. Or Miami?
  18. Marshall broke a bone in his wrist today. I can see USF giving them heck in the Sweet Sixteen.
  19. Just to see, I made out a list of players that would be in this hypothetical supplementary draft. Here it goes... Centers Forwards Guards I'm guessing the draft would be two rounds, with the teams having the option to pass on their pick and save salary room. Here would be the projected draft order. 1. Washington Wizards - Eric Gordon 2. New Jersey Nets - Stephen Curry 3. Toronto Raptors - DeMarcus Cousins 4. Portland Trailblazers - Tyreke Evans 5. Detroit Pistons - David Lee 6. Minnesota Timberwolves - Andrew Bogut 7. Cleveland Cavaliers - Bismack Biyombo 8. Utah Jazz - Kemba Walker 9. Milwaukee Bucks - Chris Kaman 10. Phoenix Suns - Klay Thompson 11. New York Knicks - Dorell Wright 12. Houston Rockets - Chuck Hayes 13. Boston Celtics - Al-Farouq Aminu 14. Denver Nuggets - Tyrus Thomas 15. Dallas Mavericks - Brandon Rush 16. Atlanta Hawks - Travis Outlaw 17. Memphis Grizzlies - Trevor Ariza 18. Indiana Pacers - Carl Landry 19. Philadelphia 76ers - Jason Thompson 20. Los Angeles Clippers - Andris Biendrins 21. Los Angeles Lakers - Isaiah Thomas 22. Orlando Magic - Jimmer Fredette 23. San Antonio Spurs - Jason Smith 24. Miami Heat - J.J. Hickson 25. Oklahoma City Thunder - Richard Jefferson 26. Chicago Bulls - Marco Belinelli
  20. Imagine if the NBA contracted four teams; most likely Sacramento, New Orleans, Charlotte and either Golden State or Toronto. Pool those players into a supplementary draft with Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans, DeMarcus Cousins, and Steph Curry/Andrea Bargnani. You could really beef up the lower tier teams with this model, as the consistantly end-of-the-road teams will out the window. For example, put DeMarcus Cousins with John Wall in Washington and they actually have a fighting chance.
  21. Murray State is giving Marquette a heck of a run, but I don't think they have enough to keep up...
  22. http://m.commercialappeal.com/news/2012/mar/17/oracle-corps-ellison-inquires-about-buying-grizzli/?partner=RSS Another team in California? Doubt this works out.
  23. Top of the rotation? Yes. Ace? Not yet.
