  1. I agree with the majority of it, glad to see 13th Step by A Perfect Circle was rated higher than Mer De Noms - I've always seen it to be better despite what everyone else I know thinks. QOTSA at 2? Well I can see it, great album although Rated R is much more rounded. Toxicity is nice to see so high and overall I pretty much agree with it.
  2. The thing is they didn't have to reveal the killer, Matthews could have still been locked up but just without us knowing who Jigsaw's protege was. There were numerous people within the story that could have been behind the kidnapping - and more could have been worked in with a bit of script tweaking to keep everyone guessing for the third movie. Personally that would have worked so much better...
  3. I don't particulary like the idea of being told who the killer is at the end of Saw 2, it was obvious they were gonna change it at the end of the film but i would have been more keen about the upcoming third movie if we weren't told. That's just me though.
  4. Saw II - 7/10 I went and caught this on opening night tonight...and I'm glad I did, while it was always going to prove difficult/impossible to outclass the original this is a sequal that is respectable. The first thing to note is how the movie goes a completly different direction at the beginning than what you expect - and I saw that as a good thing. Another main positive for me was how you get to see Jigsaw in more detail than before, learn more about the character and what makes him tick, while I always had my thoughts about him it was nice to see it on screen. The third major thing I loved about this movie was the twist(s) before the end, some you could see coming, others you couldn't and this provided a great compromise. Finally, there was more gore - this movie was personally a lot more harsh than the original, some moments I really wanted to look away from the screen, but I didn't. However with all this there were a few things that weren't so good. The movie dragged in the middle and the main story (the people in the house for those that have seen the trailor) wasn't nowhere near as good as the story in Saw, while they were in danger it didn't seem like it really and I didn't at times really care for any of the characters. The acting (excluding Jigsaw and the main police officer) was poor, the big guy in the house was abismal and I really couldn't get into him - and that made an impact on the story. And finally with the negatives I wasn't a fan of the final ending, I can see why it was done and it sort of made sense...but I still didn't like it. Saying that I forget about that ending and just love one of the swerves so much more instead that it almost covers up for it. Anyways if you liked Saw check this out, if you like gore check this out, otherwise it isn't your thing really. 7/10 for a solid effort of a sequal that delievered a decent movie.
  5. James Wesolowski - he's coming back in January and is only 17 but I honestly doubt he will be the influential player he was for us when he gets back. Bobo Balde of Celtic broke his leg in a friendly, heck of a talent and I pray he can be how he was but I've got a feeling he won't be. Alf-Inge Haaland would be the next one for me, his career was still going from strength to strength before Roy Keane fucked him up.
  6. Overrated - Lord of the Rings Trilogy, gave me arse cramp - lots of arse cramp. Underrated - The Terminal, a lovely film that I can watch anytime.
  7. Resident Evil 2 - PS1 Final Fantasy VII - PS1 Sonic the Hedgehog - Mega Drive Goldeneye 007 - N64 GTA: San Andreas - PS2 Championship Manager - PC WWF Smackdown 2 - PS1 Metal Gear Solid - PS1 Pokemon Red - Gameboy Grand Prix 3 - PC
  8. I remember when 13 of our Leicester City squad got done - it was front page news everywhere, and when everyone got aquited we got one column that was hardly a 1/8 of a page... The thing is I place a lot of blame for our relegation down to this, the players who faced the charges (Dickov, Stewart etc) all performed to a much worse standard and thus we dropped the 6 points needed to survive. Fuck the press, chances are Ronaldo is innocent and the woman consented to the sex. What is up with this country, it is absoluly dreadful overall.
  9. I'm only really interested in the Cristian Machado/Souren "Mike" Sarkisyan combo "No Mas Control" and the song featuring Corey Taylor on lead vocals. The amount of Matt Heafy on this CD really disturbs me for starters, the "flavour of the month" (as I personally hope, if Trivium's music interest died after this album I'd be a happy man) should never have got his influence onto so many songs. That's probably the main reason I didn't buy the CD and won't be buying this CD in the future. If Heafy and Trivium were the artist and band they are made out to be I wouldn't have a problem with so much inclusion.
  10. Here is the coverart for Hypnotize... I like it but I wish they had stuck with a theme similar to Mezmerize in design - ala a black background with the blue figure incorporated like the Mezmerize one. That way it would fit better as a set in my view.
  11. Agreed it should have been Max Cavalera, gotta love him.
  12. = 1. Mezmerize: A completly different take on the System style, I can't really rank it ahead of Toxicity but for me they are about the same. Toxicity has just about greater quality songs - but I love the way Mezmerize flows through 37 minutes of brillance. Key Tracks: This Cocaine..., Sad Statue & Lost in Hollywood =1. Toxicity: Not as all rounded as Mezmerize musically but has amazing energy through the trash rifts that Malakian produces throughout and Serj's singing. Key Tracks: Prison Song, Forest & ATWA 3. System of a Down: More darker than the rest of their albums and to a good effect, this is the System album for more negative moods - and in turn features their most deepest work. Key Tracks: Know, Sugar & War? 4. Steal This Album! Doesn't have the flow of the other albums, feels very chucked together (like it was) and while containing great songs it doesn't for me feel as good as the others. Key Tracks: A.D.D., Highway Song & Roulette
  13. I have it and I'm very glad it's got the Sevendust sounds from all albums mixed into different areas. It's a good album, but for some songs the quality doesn't hold while other songs the quality exceeds expectations. "Silence" and "Ugly" are two of the best songs I have heard this year honestly, while I also like "This Life" as it's the lightest Sevendust have ever gone, and they manage it with success. So yeah, has been overall good although not as amazing as the hype for me.
  14. Agreed about Trivium, everyones boner over them pisses me off, overhyped, over-rated in every sense.
  15. Hypnotize sounds a nice little track, all the signs so far are awesome - and I love the flashing image that would seem to be the front cover. Vartan Malakian has really been a great choice for the artwork on both albums it seems.
  16. I loved SAW it really lived up to the hype for me - and the sequal? Well I'm looking forward to it, it looks like its going to take the story to another level which cannot be a bad thing.
  17. Southside Double-Wide is a very nice little album, very relaxing on the ears and shows their best work in a different light. As for the new album I honestly can't fucking wait. "Ugly" is a top rate song, I can't stop listening to it - "Pieces" I heard months ago and is also very good. I doubt it will beat SOAD for album of the year in my books but it might just be the second best album.
  18. Actually I loved Untouchables also, apart from a couple of blaringly bad tracks (Wake Up Hate being one) it has some better quality songs than on some of the other albums (Thoughtless, Hating, I'm Hiding, No One's There being some of my favourites). For me: 1. KoRn 2. Issues 3. Untouchables 4. Life is Peachy (Close though with Untouchables) 5. Follow the Leader 6. Take a Look in the Mirror
  19. I think Dan Wheldon just won the Indycars, I'm pretty sure thats who you are talking about - although I didn't know he had won it until you mentioned it.
  20. 1) Ill Nino 2) System of a Down 3) Stone Sour 4) Sevendust 5) Queens of the Stone Age 6) Soulfly 7) Slipknot 8) A Perfect Circle 9) Chimaira 10) My Chemical Romance
  21. Creep - 5/10 Synopsis: When Kate falls asleep and misses the last train from London, panic sets in as she realises that she's locked in the underground station. She is somewhat relieved, then, when a train finally appears at the platform. Relief, however, soon turns to complete and utter terror... Review: Despite some very creative directing from Christopher Smith his script wasn't solid enough to provide anything more than a middle-of-the-road horror movie in "Creep". The plot itself of a woman being locked inside an Underground Station screamed out potential but ultimatly fell short...The main factor being that the revealing of the culprit for the mayhem underground (while given with a nice scare) came too soon. This then lead to a "cat and mouse" second half to the film with the surviving characters trying to escape, but with that the movie started to drag quite a lot. But despite all this the film had good scares, some really good spots of directing (like right at the end of the film) and is a reasonable offering to horror fans. Buy It/Rent It/Don't Bother Thought I'd try a new style
  22. The 40 Year Old Virgin - 9/10 Yep, this is a damn funny film. Lovely stuff. Go and see now.
