  1. From ESPN.com. He was an excellent journalist and could really draw you in with his stories via his usage of humor and pure soul. He came off as honest while engaging, funny while legit, and nice while honest. It's sad to see him go.
  2. He left Ozzy and was replaced by Rob Nicholson (of Rob Zombie fame.) Newsted then joined Voivod, and has been chilling with them since.
  3. Robert Trujillo was actually the bassist for Ozzy Osbourne at the time, but if I recall correctly, he had jammed with ST before. The press made a big hoopla because Ozzy & Metallica briefly switched bassists. Nobody bothered to mention that Newsted & ST briefly got together.
  4. ST was a brief liason for Newsted, his main focus was with Echobrain at the time. And yes, they gave him much hell for being the practical 'new guy', even after all those years of being in the group.
  5. Newsted left due to the band not allowing him to persue side projects, as well as some creative differences.
  6. Phillip Banks or "Uncle Phil" to Will Edit: And we're all friggin' idiots, especially you Brits. We forgot one of the coolest dads ever, David Lister
  7. Let's have the defendant's case, then. I'm open to all sides of the debate This is interesting, AJ. I don't know if I want to actually play or manage more. From all accounts, PE/W11 seems to be the player's choice and the manager's choice. However, I'm an unfortunately picky person. If the GM system lacks at all, or the controls on the pitch are Twister-esque, it immediately meets its end. That being said, I'll likely give W11 7 a look, if I can find it for rent. And Johnny, are the usual retailers also selling the add-on disc you spoke of, or do I have to track it done in the seething underbelly of the 'net?
  8. "Screamo" (as the pundits want to call it) is an interesting genre. It shares a lot in common with thrash metal, truth be told, as the screaming melodies are an interesting -- but often off-center -- twist on the accepted alternative bunch. Musically, the bands are often tight and very talented, with structures that are logical but also inventive. It's the vocals that ultimately set apart the songs, but oftentimes turn me away, as it somewhat ruins the vibe of the music that accompanies it.
  9. I s'pose it's generally accepted that Winning Eleven/Pro Evolution is the way to go. My first thought was to nab Winning Eleven 7 International for the PC, but I quickly ran into a problem: no fan sites, thus no cool mods/downloads (especially roster updates/upgrades.) So somebody in the know point me in the direction of some cool ones, and I'll go with the PC version. Otherwise, I'll probably give it a whirl on the PS2.
  10. How is in terms of managing a team? I've read reviews that stated Fifa '04 didn't allow some transfers between different leagues.
  11. After looking over Fifa Soccer 2004 for $30 and the decent reviews for the Winning Eleven series, I'm intrigued. So I'm wanting to give a soccer game a shot, so recommendations are wanted
  12. The more I see of Zach on ATH, the more I like. His first appearance, you could tell was his first. But now it seems he's fitting in more and more to the role. Hopefully this continues, as his command of the show is getting better and his one-liners (especially his "Woody Paige has the age of his current girlfriend...21") are usually quite funny. And I, Max just absolutely blows. It's ultimately Max muting Holley constantly and chirping in with his opinion for the better part of 30 minutes.
  13. I though you were Angry Kou, and not Somewhat Smarmy Kou?
  14. Arguably one of the greatest musicians to ever eminate from Georgia, Charles helped define the base for how jazz and soul can be fused with many other forms of music. His sense of humor and courage is something that marked both his character and the music world for a long time to come.
  15. The only catch about waiting with a system is that Nintendo and Microsoft likely won't hit with a new home console for two years. Sony's in no rush, since they're comfortably in the lead, so it may be another two-and-a-half to three years before we see a new true Playstation.
  16. Of course, it must take ages to rip those tracks from the CDs, but hey, it's the things we do for friends And easy on the Yellowcard bashing. The band's got potential, as well as an interesting spin on things.
  17. If I were actually intolerant, Johnny would've lost the point
  18. Well, let's hit the Midget DVD Wishlist and see how this goes: 1. Samurai Jack, Vol. 1 Amazon: $21 ($21 total) DDDVD: $23 ($23 total, +$2) 2. Dilbert Amazon: $37 ($58 total) DDDVD: $37 ($60 total, +$6) 3. Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Vol. 2 Amazon: $21 ($79 total) DDDVD: $24 ($84 tota, +$5) 4. The Critic Amazon: $37 ($116 total) DDDVD: $37 ($121 total, +$5) 5. Hard Knocks: The Chris Benoit Story Amazon: $21 ($137 total) DDDVD: $17 ($138 total, +$1) 6. Futurama, Vol. 4 Amazon: $35 ($172 total) DDDVD: $37 ($175 total, +$3) Factoring in the 20% discount, the total DDDVD order would come out to $141. Final verdict: Intriguing, Bond.
  19. Logic point goes to Sean. Christopher has lost a cool point, but won't show on the leaderboard since he's not registered. Y2Johnny was to lose a cool point due to my blind rage against anime, but that would be stupid, so he stays at the same level.
  20. I thought a Square game would win it, didn't think CT would make it as far as it did, though. If there was any justice in the world, CT would've been the last Square game standing, as it's the most innovative and compelling story they've thrown into an RPG.
  21. Biznatch need street cred, yo. And besides, it doesn't matter what he does here in the States, because Germans love David Hasselhoff.
  22. Too easy, yo. If I remember correctly, I had my final four as Tetris, Zelda: Link to the Past, Final Fantasy VII, & GTA: Vice City, with Tetris winning.
  23. Actually, I held out hope that more than 13-year old nerds with posters of Sephiroth and Christina Aguilera/Johnny Depp on their walls voted. I kicked it old school, and went with Tetris. And I STILL stand by that. All those who oppose, be gone.
  24. Maybe so, but the lil' bastard annoyed me since his inception. Same with Hermes' little tyke.
