I've injured people pretty consistently by hitting them with at least 3 finishers. I was able to make Kane injure 3 opponents in 3 weeks by just making sure I choke slammed them 3 times or more. Could be a coincidence though.

I'm concerned about how the moves will work. If they work in a dynamic and realistic fashion, then that's awesome. Interrupting the 5 Knuckle Shuffle with a spear/Brogue kick/SCM would rule. However, if it's like Raw/Raw 2 for the X-Box, where if you punch a move in progress, they both drop to the mat and then get back up, then it's going to be rubbish.
  3. I'm loving Universe at the moment. Triple H and Orton teamed up (Orton turned heel, Triple H was already heel after turning on HBK), Batista returned (he attacked Edge after an Edge vs Orton match), so I thought "Fine!", downloaded an awesome Ric Flair caw and remade Evolution. Which is fun, but even more fun since Edge, Cena, Daniel Bryan and Mark Henry have teamed up to take Evolution down, everyone feuding with each other. Brilliant. Sometimes Universe pisses me off (I've never had a match with Nexus without David Otunga turning on someone) and I have to "correct" it, but at the moment everything I want is working brilliantly. Jack Swagger turned face awhile ago, and he's the most awesome character in the game by a mile. Jack Swagger vs CM Punk for the World title at Wrestlemania was the best match I've ever had on ANY Smackdown game. Ended when Swagger used leverage pin on me to counter a kick, after eating a GTS (ropebreak) and me surving the ankle lock struggle submission. Keep trying to recreate it, but it's never been that awesome again.
  4. My Xbox has RROD'd again, so I'm looking to get a new one, as I'm way out of warranty. For about £90 I could get a "Core" old style console (this will be my 4th) and risk it RRODing again, or I could pay another £100 and get a 250GB 360s. Worth it?
  5. Failing that, on iTunes click on the track(s) you want to add artwork to, and right click. Click on "Get Info" (I think... It's the top option.) You'll know it's right if there is a window that has a white square on it appears. Find the album artwork on Google images, right click, copy and then paste into this square. That's how I did it, as "Find Album Artwork" didn't work for me.
  6. "I love the Spider-Man movie." "Black or White?"
  7. Does anyone else hate cougars? Every freakin' time!
  8. Freakin' wolves! I can't go ANYWHERE without the bastards killing my horse.
  9. Not a single copy of this anywhere in Newcastle. Arse.

    Doctor Who

Besides a pass with Issued 1990 on it, I don't see any evidence for this theory whatsoever. The cars thing is just grabbing at straws. The car on the right is a Nissan Micra, which was first issued 2002, so that's rubbish. I'm not even sure what the writer is trying to get across in Number 5. In any case, what does it matter if Amy is from the nineties? I understand that it shows two eras are melding together, and Doctor Who usually hints at future events throughout the episodes, but this just seems inconsistent and stupidly subtle, even with the excuse that Stephen Moffat is expecting internet fans to trawl every scene.
  11. I'm creating a "Best of WWE" storyline, which is basically a clip show, various WWE superstars introducing their favourite matches. Pretty easy, but surprisingly fun. The challenge is finding matches that I can not only create convincingly in the game, but also replicate (reasonably closely) the attire the superstars were wearing in the match. So far it goes: Vince and Shane introduce: HBK vs Taker at WM25 Matt Striker and Tommy Dreamer introduce Jeff Hardy vs RVD (WolfgangJTs in the tiger striple attire) ladder match for the Hardcore title. JBL introduces JBL vs Finlay in a street fight at Wrestlemania 24. Dusty, Cody and Ted Dibiase introduce DX vs Legacy in a falls count anywhere submission match at Breaking Point. So, can anyone think of any matches I could include (using the in game roster, building up RVD was a pain), and any suggestions of who could introduce the match?
  12. WolfgangJT's Rob Van Dam is awesome. I can't imagine there ever being a better RVD. Well worth downloading, has a fan-dabi-dozi moveset as well. Has anyone created or donwloaded any good storylines? I'm just making "Best of WWE" stories, which are quite fun. It means that the only 10 uses of CAWS aren't a problem. I can use the Tiger-stripe RVD in a ladder match against Jeff Hardy from InVasion 2001, and then use a Lesnar and Angle in an Iron Man match. Works very, very well.
  13. It is absolutely amazing how little it takes to promt one of those "OMG I will nevur buy tis game thq sucks" reactions. I think everything I've heard about Smackdown this year sounds great. A few little things like Tazz being on commentary, or Miz wearing his shorts is enough to put me off a game that has made some great improvements in the areas that needed it. The new Royal Rumble mode looks like a big change, and a good one at that.
  14. Live Action ODST trailer This is really good. I was never interested in the idea of a Halo film, but this looks fantastic. I was actually really disappointed when I found out it was a trailer for a game, and not a Starship Troopers style sci-fi movie.
  15. I knew I'd seen that "new" episode! Thank God, I haven't developed the somewhat useless ability to see episodes of Mythbusters before they happen. Is four years some kind of a record?
  16. I'm excited for this game because of the size of the roster. 50 odd WWE wrestlers, plus 50 CAWs? Especially when you can download a CAW from Xbox Live, and have it come with moveset, CAF, entrance and attributes... Brilliant. If I want to download the entire TNA roster, I have 50 slots to do it in! This year, CAW making is going to be even huger than in always is, which does mean sifting through the crap, but if you search for a Kurt Angle, you only have to tap X or [] to preview, find one that you like, and then download! Brilliant. Customisation was totally the way to go with this series.
  17. I never played Legends of Wrestlemania, how do kick outs work?
  18. So the Simpsons is bad because the show has jokes that appeal to the writers? Jesus Christ, show me one show in the history of television that doesn't! The Simpsons is often cited as an example of brilliantly grafted jokes from many people, Simon Pegg, Ricky Gervais (to name two that I've read recently) all the way down to my friends and colleagues. It's a series that even at it's weaker moments showcases jokes that are brilliantly written. I doubt the writers sit around and come up with a joke, and then reject it because it wont fit the humour style of the head writer. I'm a firm believer that funny is funny, and if a show is well written it'll make you laugh. However, I do agree that the Simpson's has become such a parody of itself that that is something that spoils it. However I don't feel that's a result of one specific writer and everyone else kissing their ass, more of a result of running for over a decade with a production cycle that runs pretty much constantly. You're bound to scrape the bottom of the barrel. We've seen a trend of focusing on the incredibly minor characters (a Christmas two parter centered around GILL for Christ's sake! I doubt anyone outside the really hardcore fans even know who he is) to the expense of the episode, or even an entire episode that was a lead up to an elaborate spoof. I suppose on that note I sound like I'm agreeing with the article, but I honestly think the blame placed on one writer is (WARNING WRESTLING COMPARISON ALERT) is like blaming the decline of WCW solely on Vince Russo's shoulders. It doesn't work like that.
  19. Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. Everything I hoped they'd introduce in this game looks as if it's been introduced. I can't wait for downloading CAWs. I don't have to make them, and other people can do them much better than me. It's like downloadable content but free and with obscure attitude era wrestlers! I'm really excited about the Superstar Threads idea. For some reason being able to change Triple H's trunks purple like he wore during Evolution, or switch Punk to his awesome black and pink attire just feels like it adds lots to the game. Customisation is a good way to go with this series! If they've fixed the CAW attributes system so I don't have to take each on individually through season, then I can see this years game lasting a long time with me.
  20. Brilliant. Ever since I picked up the first trade paperback way back when, I've wanted this to be a TV series. A weekly TV series about zombies! How come this hasn't already been done?! Hopefully they can get some decent names on board, or some decent unknown actors, as they'll need them to pull off Rick's gradual transformation from family man to "does whatever it takes to survive" leader, or Carl's loss of innocence. I honestly can't wait to hear more about this.
  21. just noticed this thing. Nice.

    Doctor Who

Heavily tattooed Doctor? Could work, I'm sort of loving the idea of a Doctor who gives one warning, then punts an entire species in the head.
  23. I've got no doubt that any DLC storylines would be "available from release" (meaning they'd be out a few months later), so everyone who bought the game can download them straight away and the storylines will more than likely have been created as part of the game, rather than an addition to it. THQ/Yukes don't have to do any more work, and can get on with next years game.
  24. I'm just sort of hoping that was only because it was the first time they'd ever done it. Hoping it'll be better this year. Like I say, I'm an optimist when it comes to the Smackdown games.
  25. It did for the PS3, but nothing for the 360. I don't ask much with Smackdown, I enjoy the game as a whole, but there are few things that annoy me about this years version (which I actually think has some of the best gameplay of any Smackdown). I'd like to see: *Being freely able to assign stats to CAWs. If I create a CAW, I want to use them. I don't want to have to play through around two years worth of Career mode to get the CAW to around the 80/85 stat level, where they actually become usable. There are 30 CAW slots! There just isn't enough time. *Abilities. The abilities are the way forward, and are a MASSIVE part of why this years game play is so good. This should continue, with a few more abilities added into the mix, And give us the CHOICE of assigning these abilities to CAWs as we create them, and the ability to add them to existing superstars, if we don't agree with them. *Road to Wrestlemania. Loved this mode. Tailor made storylines for superstars. Add one generic one (for CAWS), another generic for superstars (or CAWS with middling stats), and another for generic tag teams, and it'd be perfect. Even the possibility of new storylines via DLC would be enough the get me buying. *Create-A-Finisher. It was in, it was quite good for a first effort, now improve it. The ability to begin moves from the back, greater control on speeding up/slowing down animations to get the exact feel you want. Not a major overhaul, just little additions. *Tournament Mode. Keep it! I'm worried this year it'll be removed, after being my favourite feature by far this year. It honestly doesn't need much doing to it at all, it works perfectly well. *Highlight Reel. As with CAF, just improve it. Give us the ability to use Highlight Reels as Titantrons, and that'd be perfect. *CAW mode. Improvements. PLEASE bring back the ability to copy and paste designs. I can't explain how much of a lifesaver that used to be, especially when creating quite a complex CAW. *Movesets. I'd like to see ONE new addition to the options. Maybe an apron move, maybe a move you can select for your superstar to pull off when they are near the steel steps. Just something to customise wrestlers a little more, and have them feel a little less generic. *Struggle Submissions. A good idea, well executed, now improve on it. More moves. It's rubbish only having about eight moves in the whole game that you'll ever get a tap-out from, especially when three/four of them are superstar finishers, and the rest are meaningless chinlocks and rest holds. I want to see Ankle locks, arm bars etc. That turned into a little bit more of a rant than I was expecting, but that's what I want from the Smackdown game this year. I don't think any of these are unreasonable, or too difficult to implement. Those additions would certainly help me enjoy the game more than the rumoured "novelty controller" that's supposed to be coming with it.
