Well that's ten people on here, plus a couple of others I know who'd join, so it's looking good. It would work a lot more smoothly if we could convince a mod/admin to make a subforum for it, either here or in The Cube maybe.

Would anyone be interested in a fantasy premier league game on here next season? I'm talking about something like this (but for proper football rather than American football), where each manager has a set transfer budget and bids for players at the beginning of the season. You start of with a few rounds of private bids, then some public bidding until everyone has a full squad of 23 players. Then it's run like a regular football league, everyone plays each other twice with a transfer window half way through. I run a game on another forum, and it's worked out pretty well. We'd need about 12 or 14 managers (plus myself and my brother, who'd help run it), and they'd need to be people that are online regularly enough to post a team lineup each week and deal with transfer deals in the January window. Obviously it wouldn't start until September/October, but I thought I might as well ask now to see if there's any interest.

I don't really know why Fergie would go for Palacios, considering we have plenty of centre midfielders already.

I don't think you can call Kaka a mercenary. A mercenary would be kicking up a fuss and demanding that AC Milan accept City's offer. He clearly wants to stay at the club, but if Milan want the money then there's not too much he can do about it.

He doesn't. IIRC the character was written American (don't know why), then when Glenister came on board they told him he could play it English. He decided to play the character American because he liked the idea of a challenge. Hopefully they'll come up with an excuse for him to drop it, like Burn Notice.

I can't believe nobody took Glenister to one side and said "your accent is shit, drop it".
