  1. -Lamb of God - fucking rules. -Atreyu - song probably sucks, especially if it's a newer one. -Eighteen Visions - if it's a new song, it'll be a shit fashioncore song. :pinch: -Unearth - awesome. -The Dillinger Escape Plan - good stuff. -Every Time I Die - owns everyone else on this comp. -Bleeding Through - decent. -The Black Dahlia Murder - fucking amazing. Hopefully they put on Funeral Thirst
  2. Saw LAMB OF GOD, EVERY TIME I DIE, ATREYU, and UNEARTH last night. Every Time I Die's live show suffers once again, as I've seen them five times now, with only two being good. They sound like they're playing at about half-speed - don't know whether it's the difficulty of the riffs getting to them, or maybe the drummer can't keep up, but it's quite annoying and hard to get into the music. Their last three songs were really good, though. Unearth was fucking bad ass. Atreyu - was - terrible. I like Atreyu, although their new shit sucks a dick and likes it, but their live show is just horrid. The singer sounds like a screeching 12 year old girl, the guitars sound like total shit, the timing is off [and when you've been playing on the road for years at a time, you'd think that would not be the case], and their selection of songs was not very good. Their drummer/vocalist had a good vocal sound, though. Lamb of God was pretty fucking good. They played a healthy set of new and old [and REALLY old] stuff, including a Burn the Priest [their old name] song. The one gripe I had was that they played TOO MUCH. They were on for two hours, and played 16 songs. Now, I love Lamb of God, but standing there for two hours hearing their songs gets a bit boring after about an hour and a half, and the crowd's enthusiasm suffered a major drop-off after about an hour and ten minutes. It's hard to mosh for two hours, let me tell you. So, they were good, but not amazing as the last time I saw them.
  3. Nice video. Song is more funny than anything else. "Coca-Cola, Wonderbra!" Rofl.
  4. Ryan from Mudvayne Kevin from Between the Buried and Me Flea from RHCP. Les Claypool is bad ass, too, but I don't like Primus, so he can't be #1.
  5. Hey, the Jays and their rookies aren't doing too badly. Gabe Gross has been decent in the field, Alex Rios is lighting shit up after a S-L-O-W start, Jason Frasor doesn't completely suck [which you can't say about any other pitchers in the Jays bullpen *coughLIGTENBERGcough*], Kevin Cash is good defensively [but absolutely terrible offensively], Delgado is finally hitting, Wells has been decent since his return, Hinske seems to have found his swing, and Reed Johnson, as always, brings the pain. Oh, and Josh Towers and David Bush are some bad-ass starters. A lot of Toronto media talk shit on Towers, but I don't know why. He's been the Jays best pitcher this year, was 8-1 last year, and has been steady after a slow start. So they should shut up. Bush has been very good for a rookie. So.. maybe the Jays can finish off the season strong. [Er.. what was the original topic again?]
  6. Anybody see this? I checked it out earlier today - thought it was an overly long, slightly boring movie. Acting wasn't bad - but a LOT of wading around with no talking. Ending was awesome, and the only satisfying ending that would've been believable to me. What I didn't understand - wouldn't the diving company guys CHECK their boat to make sure nobody made off with their equipment? If I were running something like that, as soon as the tour ended, I'd do a visual check to make sure all my shit was there, and that all the stuff that people brought on the boat was gone and in their posession. Morons. Anyway, I give it a very generous 3/5, but probably more like 2.5 on an average day. I guess there's only so much believable shit you can do to two people in the water by themselves for the whole movie before it becomes overkill.
  7. However you slice it, it's "crap".
  8. Music - Duff, her stuff is catchy. Movies - Lohan, although I watch Lizzie Maguire [it's my guilty pleasure]. :ohwell: Hotness - Duff, by a mile. Not that Lohan isn't pretty. She's attractive, in a very cute, innocent way. But Duff is off the charts beautiful to me. So she wins. Not that I'll ever get either of them anyway..
  9. KTFA owns this thread. But wow - that home run. Now *that* is a true ownage.
  10. That 70's Show doesn't have any legal DVDs out yet.
  11. I've seen it four times, and thought it was really, really good all four times. ***1/2
  12. I wouldn't go, because all of the bands suck ass. But uh, if you dig any of 'em, I'd say go. And it's free, and I assume you'll be with friends, so it's definately worth going to.
  13. Yeah, cause Hogan's (big, burly Hogan) is the most famous Lightning Fan so he was able to sweet talk Brooke into singing the national anthom. ←
  14. It was probably stated somewhere else, but WHEN THE HELL DOES THIS COME OUT?!
  15. Anterrabae - [Funny story concerning them - I was reading the novel, "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden" by Joanne Greenberg, and one of the characters in it is named Anterrabae. I thought, "What a bad ass name for a band." and went about petitioning friends to name our band that. Of course, then I was looking through mp3.com for good music just before it shut down - and I see Anterrabae. The end.] Penetrator - cheesy metal. The Black Dahlia Murder Modern Life is War Misery Signals [formerly known as the also-cool Seven Angels, Seven Plagues] Good Clean Fun - sXe hardcore.. name relates well, even though they suck. The Dillinger Escape Plan And I'm sure there are more.
  16. Looks pretty fucking bad ass. (Y) I'll have to check this one out.
  17. I thought the Village was decent. Not amazing, not bad. Exactly what I thought it'd be. The ending amused me, I thought it was good. The ending itself sucked, but the twist that they were living in a centuries-ago time in a forest whilst time passed by normally on the outside was really neat, I dug that a lot. But the ending itself was bad - left way too much open. Otherwise, Bryce Howard was fucking adorable in the movie, and I'm crushing on her madly. Of course, she doesn't look nearly as good otherwise, but uh, whatever. Anyway, it was worth the $7.50 I paid for it, a good time waster. Better than the Sixth Sense [which I strongly disliked], better than Unbreakable [which was terrible], but not as good as Signs [which I really liked, despite the horrid ending]. So yeah, whatever.
  18. Slayer bored me to tears live. Yeah, I said it.
  19. FINALLY, another Underoath fan!!! I'd go to see Eighteen Visions, Tiger Army, the aforementioned Underoath [though they'll mostly be playing new shite], Thursday [whom I heard is good live, though I dislike them], and maybe From Autumn to Ashes, though they suck live. It might be a ton of fun, though, regardless of the bad bands. So I say, go and chill, unless it'll cost you your life savings.
  20. I'd go, but I'm not down with paying $60 for hockey. Although $60 for TWO World Cup games is pretty sweet. I might check that shit out.
  21. My favourite part about this tour is No Warning - a local Ontario hardcore punk band - playing with Linkin Park. They're getting a lot of shit around here for "selling out", which is just crap. I, for one, am really happy for them - they get to play their shit to an audience who, no doubt, has never heard of them before, and they get to go on tour and MAKE MONEY doing what they've been doing for years and years - playing hardcore punk music. I was in disbelief when I found out they were going on the tour, too. But good for them. I'd go to see Snoop, and No Warning. But I'm sure the prices are absolutely atrocious, so I'm not going to.
  22. Thank you, GZ. Now my intrigue has reached new levels. Level 2: "Might possibly take a closer look if I'm bored."
  23. Hey, good quote. A metal/hardcore band from Montreal called A Perfect Murder uses that as the intro to one of their songs, I think. (Y) Anyway.. Worst movie I've ever seen was Peter Pan, the version that was made in the past couple of years. How do you fuck up the story of PETER PAN? Well, these guys did. The only saving grace is Tinkerbell, who is really god damn cute.
  24. Did Underoath drop the tour? They were the only band I'd go to see on the show. I've heard 3/4 of the bands on the tour, and I think they suck. I like From Autumn to Ashes, but they're terrible live, especially in an outdoor venue.
