  1. Anthony Davis is overrated on the field, and his shitty personality should scare plenty of teams away that I wouldn't really even be surprised if he fell out of the 1st round completely (though it would be very unlikely, I admit). Overrated, lazy and a poor attitude? Who'd want to invest millions upon millions of dollars in that? Out of curiosity how many Rutgers games did you watch in the past 3 years? Past 3 years? Fuck knows, but from what I've seen of him this year (vs. WVU, vs. Cincinnati, and bits & pieces vs... I don't remember, I want to say Pittsburgh, but I'm not 100% sure, as well as some highlight/lowlight packages on him), he didn't look like anything remarkably special. Regardless, the biggest reason I think he drops is because of his character concerns, and he doesn't have the consistently elite tape to overcome such question marks. This is such a weak OT class that, if not for those character concerns he'd probably be the 2nd or 3rd OT off the board, but it's just not worth it for a team to take this big of a risk on him.
  2. Yes, but the value between taking a potential superstar WR (Arrelious Benn reminds me A LOT of Anquan Boldin, and the only reason he doesn't get much love is because Juice Williams was absolutely terrible, and between Juice & injuries, his production was well below what it should have been) and an interior lineman is pretty substantial. It's a value pick through and through, as they could still pick up an interior lineman later in the draft (Vladimir Ducasse or Jon Asamoah in the 2nd, for instance), where as the only other person who is on Benn's level in terms of natural talent and potential is Dez Bryant. I just think Benn offers more bang for their buck as opposed to an interior lineman righ there. RBs can be taken in nearly any round, and the Seahawks are in no position to compete immediately that they can take a flyer on a luxury pick like Spiller, in my opinion. They'll probably just go BPA (which Spiller isn't), with a focus on the offensive line/offensive tackle position.
  3. I'm sorry. I didn't realize I was talking to an NFL GM. FSU is a big-time school that is constantly on TV. And, if I noticed how overrated Patrick Robinson is while watching FSU, I can sure as hell guarantee you NFL personnel types did, as well. But whatever, you clearly have no idea what the fuck you're talking about, so this is futile. The Steelers aren't taking a WR in Round One. Especially not with Pouncey and Iupati still on the board. The value between a potential #1 WR superstar and an RG/C isn't even close, are you kidding me? Especially considering Ben's targets (assuming he isn't traded, in which case this whole mock goes out the window) are a very old Hines Ward with only a year or two of production left, and a glorified slot receiver in Mike Wallace. But, you're the Steelers' homer here, so you may be right. I just don't think an organization as smart as this takes an interior lineman over someone with Arrelious Benn's skillset. I thought of Gresham there, but I think he falls for whatever reason. Some teams may be scared away by a player that is that big and that soft (he cant block worth a lick), but you're right, Baltimore could just as well take Gresham there.
  4. Here's a mock I did earlier: EDIT - Took out the descriptions cuz it was just too long on here.
  5. I actually had Brandon Graham in there and moved him then forgot to put him where I had him going before. Oops. Patrick Robinson's a fast riser and a good corner. This class is filled with quality corners, but Patrick Robinson isn't one of them. Speed doesn't make a corner good, btw.. and that's all Robinson has going for him, speed. Can't cover worth a lick. And regardless, Arizona will not be taking a corner in the first few rounds unless the value is off the charts (IE: Joe Haden in the 1st, or Kareem Jackson/Devin McCourty in the 2nd), guaranteed. EDIT - Oh, yeah. Where's Graham? Colts could use him, as well (as could AZ, New England & Jets, to name a few).
  6. 1. Up 2. Zombieland 3. Drag Me To Hell 4. Moon 5. Watchmen 6. Inglorious Basterds 7. Public Enemies 8. The Hangover 9. The Hurt Locker 10. GI Joe (that's fucking right!)
  7. Why are the Cardinals taking a corner back in the first? Scratch that, why are the Cardinals taking a terribly overrated corner in the first? Greg Toler is going to get every shot to start across from DRC next year; that was the plan from the moment we drafted him (well, the plan was that he would be worked into the rotation this past year, then eventually take over as our #2 after McFadden's contract ran out but, obviously, we're rushing it a bit), and given his performance down the stretch of last season, it's stupid to think Whisenhunt/Graves will invest such a high-value draft pick on another cornerback so soon. We'll be going BPA in the first round, most likely, with OT, NT, ILB and OLB being the positions we are most likely to prioritize. Also, Nate Allen sucks and I can't see either Dez Bryant or Earl Thomas falling that far - they're both legitimate top 10 talents. Where's Trent Williams, btw? I think he sucks, and I'm really not a fan of his, but he's going in the 1st round. Worst case scenario, the Packers take him as he fits the zone blocking scheme to a tee and OT > DB, always. And why would the Colts take a FS when the current dude they have there (name escapes me) is a baller? How about Rodger Saffold right there? Other than that, though, solid work.
  8. This looks like it'll be the 3rd straight season the Giants collapse down the stretch. That at Minny, home vs Philly, and at Green Bay stretch at the end will be the death of them. I see them being about 6-6 or 7-5 going into it, and there's no way they sweep that which is pretty much what they would need to do. If they do end up around the 8-8 mark, think Coughlin gets the boot? Or has his SB win earned him enough street cred with the NYC media to get an extension regardless?
  9. McClain's skillset doesn't translate well to the Tampa Two/4-3 at all, though. While he has short area quickness, he is overall slow, and would be constantly getting burned if asked to drop into coverage a lot. McClain is the prototypical 3-4 ILB thumper. EDIT - And Powerhart, both JPP and Demaryious Thomas are pretty bad players; they're not worthy of going in the first round, and maybe not even the 2nd. If you want someone who can catch a pass, Damian Williams is the shit. If you want someone who can rush the passer, Jerry Hughes/Brandon Graham are the shit. EDIT2 - Personally, I'm hoping Sean Weatherspoon somehow falls to AZ, as he could be plugged in from day one and be pretty effective as Dansby's successor from both a talent (both have similar skillsets) and leadership perspective. If not him, then I'm hoping Jerry Hughes is there for us, and if not.. well, we better just trade down. Here's hoping Carolina wants to trade next year's first again.
  10. Lets just hope it's not like Special. Now THAT movie was fucking boring.
  11. Wtf. If you don't want to be heavily spoiled, don't do what I did and read the episode summaries for the next four episodes of Supernatural (the last four episodes before the muthafuckin' apocalypse/season finale). How the hell did the CW authorize such spoilerific episode summaries? They must've known I lacked the will power to not read them, those assholes..
  12. This. This 100 times over. I hate how awful the show has become since the first season was one of the best things in TV up to that point, and I hate that, even when it's bad, there's always at least one character or idea or storyline with the potential to make the whole show interesting again, so I keep coming back to it every couple of weeks. Only to be sorely disappointed and disenchanted with the series again. Heroes is like my abusive, raping wife, but I just can't quit her completely.
  13. Yeah, what is this? I saw a commercial for it a couple of days ago, and I think I'd heard about it before then, but I just don't remember anything about this movie.
  14. Haha, Willie Colon knows what's up. (Y)
  15. I guess "untradeable" would've been more apt (also more made up!), but whatever.
  16. I think if he ever was formally charged he'd have no trade value. What team would want to trade for a guy who just got charged with committing a rape/sexual assault? 95% of the teams in the league wouldn't bat an eye with the allegations, but the Steelers do business differently. They jettisoned Plax and Holmes in the past because they pride themselves on having good character guys. It's tough to do that when the face of your organization is constantly putting himself in bad situations. Hence, untouchable.
  17. Surely, a franchise QB is worth just a tad bit more than a WR? Unless Ben's ever formally charged, I wouldn't pay too much attention to all of these trade rumors. And at that point, he'll become untouchable, anyways. Basically, Ben's not going anywhere. To think otherwise is just foolish fantasy.
  18. If the Niners can get a QB, that offense'll be scary good. Here's hoping they continue to believe in Alex Smith and that, if he falls to them, they skip on Clausen. Or, actually, let's hope they're the ones stupid enough to draft McCoy or Tebow in the first two rounds. Yeah, let's hope that's what happens.
  19. I could not get into the 4th in the least; I didn't even bother finishing it. Such a boring show it's become, in my opinion. Season 2 was great, but the next two have pretty effectively killed any interest I ever had in the show.
  20. Dexter's steadily gotten worse over the years. It sucks now.
  21. Awesome Supernatural episode today. I always wondered why . Also Also, Castiel is the shit. How many episodes 'til the grand finale? I finished watching Season 4 about a week and a half ago, and while I haven't gotten started on the beginning of Season 5 just yet, I can't imagine it'll take me too long to get all caught up in time for the motherfuckin' apocalypse.
  22. Clay Davis is pretty awesome, shiiiiiiiiiiiit.
  23. Brandon Marshall to the Fins for a 2010 and 2011 2nd round draft pick. And of course trading Holmes hurts Pittsburgh; they have nobody to replace him with, and now their main (only?) targets are an a vet who likely only has 1-2 years in him at the most, and a glorified slot receiver (I'm not counting their TE, because fuck TE's). Since they also seem to be reverting to more of a pass-oriented attack, the need for a player of at least Santonio's talent for at least the next half decade is much needed. What are they going to do, pray Bryant (who has his own set of off the field question marks) falls to them this year and groom him in time to replace Ward? Pray they bomb/trade up next year to land AJ Green, Michael Floyd, or Jonathan Baldwin? That being said, it was pretty clear Holmes wasn't going to be sticking around long-term in Pittsburgh, so it makes perfect sense for them to deal him. Just.. they lack the depth at this point for this deal to be a slam-dunk for both teams, especially considering they're only getting a 5th. EDIT - Oh hey, look, apparently there was a new page with a handful of posts that I didn't read, so now this post looks kinda out-dated. Whatever. Love Marshall to the Fins, especially since it means he's not going to Seattle.
  24. Definitely. You might just up and join your local skinhead organization, as a matter of fact.
  25. Can you.. can you run the ball then? Also, AZ.
