  1. God damn, I really didn't even realize just how much it's been done. I was in amazement as to how many pic's there were when I just google'd 'goalie beachball'. Seems every goalie's had a beachball pic made of them. Luongo, Theodore, Khabibulin, Huet, Raycroft, Boucher, Lundqvist, and that's all on the first screen. EDIT: Oh yeah, and I was referencing the new movie Goon. Funny scene in it where these two Swedish guys are making fun of their goalie team-mate, and pull out a picture of him not stopping a beachball. *insert shitty reference meme here* EDIT 2: Also, let it be known that I was just poking fun at Reimer for the 2 goals of the first 2 shots. He's played decent despite the team playing crap in front of him at times.
  2. I meant showing a physical picture of them not stopping a beach ball, taterboy.
  3. 10 points to whoever knows where this reference is from.
  4. Just won a PRIDE fight, the first time I've KO'd someone with the north/south knee's to the head. God damn, it looked (and I felt) like I killed him. In the heat of the moment, I followed up with 3 or 4 more knee's to the head once he already went out, and they just looked brutally sickening. EDIT: So after a Knockout of Lyoto Machida at 4:50 of the 2nd round, Nobu 'The Asian Sensation' Yakubitskaya has gone on to win his retirement match. Not the most fitting way for a submission specialist to be remembered in his final match, but ya can't change a flash KO so what's done is done. I managed to post a great record of 45-3, with my only losses coming from Tito Ortiz twice by TKO early in my UFC career, and my third coming more recently from being on the receiving end of Rampage's fist, where I lost my LHW Title after defending it 7 times. During my career, I put together a stunning 23 fight win streak, and never lost more than once in a row. I also won my one and only PRIDE Gran Prix that I was offered. My fastest win was a mere :42 seconds into the 1st round, against Wes Turner, where I won by submission. I believe that may have been my WFA title match where I walked in, pulled to guard and got an Omoplata sub victory right off the bat. Fastest loss was to Tito Ortiz, a respectable () TKO loss 2:46 into the 3rd round. I came away with 15 Submission of the Night awards, 6 Submission of the Year awards, 3 Fighter of the Year awards, and also made the UFC HoF. Came out of the career rated 92 OVR, 91 Submission OFF and DEF, somehow ended up with 100 GTG Offense and 97 GTG Defense without even focusing on that. I also traned my move-levels up pretty well (Put in spoilers for length; Level/Lv 1 = Learned, Lv 3 = Perfected): Looking forward to bringing this guy online and twisting people into pretzels. I also look forward to the hate messages I'll be recieving soon due to this.
  5. Totally forgot about today being the deadline somehow, went to go browse the NHL site and my brain nearly imploded with all the trade headlines before I realized. AULIEEEE! NOOOOO~! Surprised to see the Kassian/Hodgson deal. I like Kassian more of the two, though Hodgson is good as well. Decent for both sides. Roloston to Boston is a nice pickup for them too.
  6. After slowly picking my way up the rankings and developing my skills (turns out I need some better standup in my style to be able to get some guys to be able to be subbed ), I've now earned myself a shot at the LHW Belt. Only downside, Lyoto Machida is the champion. After floating around between main eventing UFN and opening/undercarding UFC events for a bit including a 2nd loss to Tito Ortiz (I could fucking kill him..), I managed to put together another streak of wins. Most recently, I had a war with Matt Hamill of all people that went to the first decision of my career. I was really unsure if the judges would see it my way or not, but much to my luck I came out with the decision. Went onto my next fight to sub out Brandon Vera just before the ending bell of the 1st round, followed by a 2nd round submission win over Jason Brilz. Looking through my potential next opponents, I came across a #1 Contender's fight against Jon Jones. I was ranked 6th overall, and was rated 83OVR to his 95OVR, so it seemed like they were trying to feed me to Jones to set up his title match. Odds were against me, and even I thought I was going to lose, but I decided to go big or go home and took the fight anyways. Trained hard up to the fight and luckily I did as Jones and I ended up battling it out until late in the 3rd round. I swung and missed with a hook and Jones grabbed me in the collar & tie. Thank god that I know the pull to guard from clinch, as I did that and immediately slapped on an omoplata. He almost escaped but I managed to crank it on and get the submission victory via Omoplata at 4:26 of the 3rd round, and earn my shot at the title - probably surprising the fight planner as much as it did me. Now I've gotta train even harder up to this fight with Lyoto. I wasn't really expecting to make a run for the title just yet, but since it's being thrown my way, might as well run with it. My record is 25-2 (fucking Tito ) Make that 26-2, and your NEEEEEWWW UFC LIGHT---HEAVYWEIGHT---CHAMPION OF THE WORLDDDDD - NOBU 'The Asian Sensation' YAKUBITSKAYA! What a battle that was, back and forth action halfway into the 5th round. Of all of the ways for my submission artist to win the title, he KO's Lyoto Machida for his FIRST KO win of his career! 1 win by KO, 1 win by TKO, 1 win by Decision, 23 wins by Submission. Also, woo for getting Fighter of the Year as well. Goes along nicely with the 10 or so Subs of Nights & Years or so.
  7. Last thing I'll say about this is that you got me on him not being drafted. Slip up by me there, but I more-so meant when he came to the Leafs. EDIT: Missed a good D'oh joke.
  8. You're acting like that's my one and only excuse, and I'm sticking to it. It's not. Part of what I think, sure, but I'm not saying that's the sole reason they're losing. I'm not saying it's the sole reason they lost this game, or any game. I'm saying it's a potential FACTOR into it. It's not so much an excuse as it is an opinion on that issue. Also, as much as I love Toronto, you're comparing them to Vancouver. The same Vancouver who went to the Cup Finals last year, which despite losing, is no easy task. Plus, they've got the fucking Sedins. Allaire has completely changed Gusty from the goalie he was when he was drafted, and Gusty hasn't adapted well. Gusty wasn't a goalie that really should've been trained by Allaire, purely because of the style-difference, but alas he was and look how he's ended up now. I'd imagine it's slightly the same for Reimer. My best guess for Reims is this; when he came in last year, dominated and had a great half a season, he hadn't spent a lot of time with Allaire to be able to pick up the way he wanted him to play. This season comes around, Reimer gets his injury and is forced to spend a lot of time with Allaire while he's getting healthy again, and starts trying to adapt to Allaire's style. Fast forward to where we are now; how's it working? Once again, that's just my opinion on those things. I don't really feel like arguing about it anymore with ya Sean, so if we can lets just agree to disagree.
  9. Ladies and gentlemen, Francois Allaire, infamous goaltender breaker. That's not my whole excuse, don't really have an excuse either. I'm just pointing that out. The team didn't play good at all today (or for the last few games for that matter), there's no hiding that. I'm not saying that that right there is the whole reason they're losing, by any means. Still though, the standing does effect them. Sure, they're only standing there, but after having their pre-game warmup and then standing for the whole ceremony, it's bound to tighten their legs back up and, in a way, almost nullify their warmup. It's not much of an edge for the opposing team, but at the end of the day, it's still an edge. I'd also assume that's why you'll often see players constantly moving their legs as often as they can (besides during the anthem I'd think), to try and keep everything flowing. (italic's edited in after) And about Francois Allaire, I know he is a good coach, a very good coach at that. Maybe saying he 'break's goalies natural styles' might not have been the best way to phrase it, but all I'm trying to say is that he tends to force goalies to change their style towards what he wants them to play, instead of working to improve on the style they already have. It's almost like telling them to re-learn how to play.
  10. Honestly, I called it before the game started to my girlfriend. The whole ceremony/tribute before the game will kill/killed them. Just like the night for Sundin. The whole Leafs team is standing for at least a solid 20 minutes for the ceremony, while the opponents are either A: Sitting on the bench (Montreal) or B: In the locker room, probably sitting as well (Washington). The result is the Leafs having tired legs from it all, while the opponents are fresh and ready to go. The Leafs come out flat for at the very least the first period, and usually spend the 2nd period getting themselves up to the speed of the game. By the 3rd, they're able to play but it's usually too late. My opinion? Shoot whoever planned so many pre-game ceremonies. Also, not to completely bash the guy or anything, but get rid of Francois Allaire. He breaks goalie's natural style.
  11. Beautiful. Here I was thinking I had to hunt down the butterfly guard from mount to be able to get a gogoplata for my Submission artist, but sounds a lot easier now. I'll update if it works as it sounds. UPDATE: Yep, it definitely does work like that. I learned Gogoplata from Rubber Guard, and it gave me Rubber Guard in the process, so I'm now able to access transitions from RG Thanks Be I love bending and contorting people 6 ways from Sunday.
  12. Wojtek Wolski to Florida Panthers, 2013 3rd Round Pick & Mike Vernace (minor leaguer) to New York Rangers Wolski should be able to help Florida a bit, especially in the shootouts. Pretty even trade, but depending who the Rangers end up with from that 3rd round pick, it could go either way.
  13. So wait, you're saying if I was to learn, say, 'Transition to Mount' from Rubber Guard, without learning rubber guard, that I'd get both the Trans. to Mount from Rubber, and Rubber Guard? Also, that's gotta be a UFC2 FAQ. When I started seeing those camp names, I started thinking 'wait.. did I really miss ALL those camps in the list somehow?!' but, no, no I did not.
  14. Nobu 'The Asian Sensation' Yakubitskaya, my Middleweight-Turned-LHW submission artist, just experienced his first taste of defeat against Tito Ortiz. After being unable to force him to tap despite numerous submission attempts and submission switches, Nobu was TKO'd late into the 3rd round from GnP. Had a good 13 fight win streak going that's now snapped. Bastard just wouldn't stop slamming me to get out of subs 13-1 now, and I've mastered (lvl.3) the Omoplata and Armbar from Single Collar Tie, and I have a Kimura from Half Guard at Lvl.2. Sub OFF & DEF are up to 84, gotta round out a few other stats while I earn the 150k to get stats to 90.
  15. Decided my next career is going to be a Middleweight Submission specialist from Hiroshima, Japan - ladies and gentlemen, Nobu 'The Asian Sensation' Yakubitskaya </MostAsianNameICouldPutTogether> So far I've went 6-0, with 5 submission victories including walking into my WFA Title Fight, pulling to guard and slapping in an Omoplata for the win right off the hop. Sub of the Night and SOTY Candidate. Already trained my Omoplata up to Level 3, working on a kimura from half-guard next. This guy is going to be deadly.
  16. Woo, Hall of Famer, and right before I'm set to schedule the final fight of my career. Beauty timing. One final fight as a HOF'er, and defending my 2nd reign as UFC Lightweight Champion. I'm also now ranked the #1 P4P fighter in the world, to cherry that cake. I was offered a fight against Anthony Pettis to defend my Lightweight Title, except it's a fill in fight and I only get 1 week to train. The only other option I have is a new division fight, which is dropping back down to Featherweight where my career began and fighting Cub Swanson (22-11), and I get the two weeks of training. As much as I want the two weeks of training, I'd rather my stats the way they are at Lightweight, so I'll be taking on Pettis in my final fight, and hopefully going out on a winning note. Not exactly the way I'd picture winning my final career fight, but a bit of GnP from the mount and I win my final fight by KO, retiring the UFC Lightweight of ze world~! So my first career is officially finished. I ended up with an overall record of 41-7 and ended my career on an 11 fight win streak. Rated: 92OVR (90 STR, 95 SPD, 88 CRD, 87 FWK) Overall Cred - Popularity: 48934 - Legend Ranked 1st in the Divison & 1st Pound 4 Pound Top 10 Wins - 20 Top 10 Losses - 2 Title Matches/Won/Defended- 14/4/9 Longest Winning Streak - 13 wins Longest Losing Streak - 2 losses Consecutive Pride Wins - 3 Longest UFC/WFA Title Run - 4 defenses/4 defenses Fastest Win - R1-1:55 (vs Ramos Hernandez) Fastest Loss - R1-1:39 (vs Takanori Gomi, the bastard) FOTN x2, KOTN x4, FightOTY 1x, KOTY 1x, FighterOTY 1x, UFC Hall Of Famer Losses to: Donald Cerrone, Dominick Cruz, Joe Stevenson, Takanori Gomi x2, Ross Pearson, Trent Slade I've now got around to joining the PS3 Camp, as well. Time to take my skills online Though I'll probably start another career soon, not quite sure as what yet.
  17. I ended up getting caught in a triangle and losing my Lightweight title to Donald Cerrone of all people, and promptly was dropped to 8th rank. Since, I've been working my way back up the rankings and just finished winning a #1 Contenders fight, so I shall be getting my rematch very soon. The #1 contenders fight was against Anthony Pettis, and we had a pretty good back and forth fight with me dominating the first round, dropping him once and having him rocked as the round ended. He came back strong in the second though and gave me a good beating with stand-up, while I tried to match it before finally taking it to the ground for a bit before the round ended. We brawled it out in the third until I rocked him once again, transitioned to mount while he was rocked and landed a few nice shots forcing the ref to jump in and call it, declaring me the new #1 contender. My fight with Pettis ends up being the FOTN, and after the event the year ends. Guess what turns out to be the Fight of the Year? That's right, Me vs Pettis. Only sour note is that Cerrone submitting me for the title ended up ranking 6th for Submission of the Year. That's alright though, because I'm going to beat his little bitch-ass for catching me in that triangle and take my title back. EDIT: Holy fuck, that dude is tough for some reason. Complete fucking war into the 4th round. He was whooping the fuck out of me in the 3rd round, but 2:26 into the 4th round I managed to rock him to the mat. I hopped on him and tried finishing it as quick as I could with punches, but the bastard kept blocking and swaying them so at the last second of him being rocked, I slapped on a rear-naked and managed to tap his bitch ass out to win my title back! Crazy fight that was, didn't think I was going to win it. So glad that title fights go 5 rounds, because had it gone 3, it was his easily. Another Fight of the Night too! 2 in a row And just like when I last won my title, I'm heading off to PRIDE for a GP Tournament. First round opponent - Dominick Cruz Fuck the Focus Mitts. TKO'd Cruz late in the 1st round to be able to move onto my 2nd opponent - a rematch with BJ Penn. I took the first fight, so he's going to be wanting some revenge. Oh he wanted the revenge, he put up one hell of a fight. He kept strong up until me getting him mounted late in the 2nd and getting the KO victory. Onto my first PRIDE Gran Prix finals we go! My opponent? Frankie Edgar - The rematch from when I stole his belt. This one ought to be a show-stealer. We both came out bloody as hell, me on the worse end from him pinning me down and bloodying me up with guard shots to the point that I was worried about a doctor stoppage, but late in the first I caught him with a counter hook to send him KO'd to the mat. Your NEW PRIDE GP Winner, folks! Another year ends, and I placed 3rd for Fighter of the Year and my fight with Donald Cerrone to win my title back placed 2nd for Fight of the Year. Oh No! Final year before I'm forced to retire! I better make it a good year, no losses god damnit! Knockout of the Night against Jim Miller is a good way to start that year. Just over a minute into the 3rd round, he got caught with a spinning back elbow before going to sleep from a follow-up headkick. Goodnight, Jimmy! Gray Maynard fell victim to the rear-nakey after a hell of a stand-up brawl between the two of us lasting almost up until the third, but he couldn't hold out on tapping before the bell. Looks like ol' Jimmy boy didn't get enough in the last fight, he came back for some more. And he met mostly the same fate. KO by headkick halfway through the 2nd round, and I get Knockout of the Night once again. Two KOTN against Jim Miller in my last 3 fights.
  18. Say goodbye to your throne Frankie Edgar, and say hello to your NEW LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION OF ZE WORLDDDDDDDDDDD~! 'Bout friggin time My records now at 28-5 after that win, so it took me a long grind-it-out process to get to the belt, but I did it. Knocked him out around 3:30 or so into the 3rd round after mounting him and the first left straight I threw put him out. I'm now heading over to PRIDE for a Grand Prix tournament, with my 1st round fight being against Jans Pulver. Not sure if me going to PRIDE will vacate me being champion, but if so, I'll be winning that bitch back once I come home. Damnit, I pulverized Pulver, but ended up going to decision with Dominick Cruz after thinking there was a third round, and the motherfucker ends up winning by decision - ending my 13 fight win streak. Fuck. And now I get a 'welcome back to the UFC' Title Defense against BJ Penn. Lovely. That was an awesome fight with Penn. Very ground based fight, with both of us getting a couple reversals in as well as some GnP. We both ended up a bloody mess, and come the end of the third round with 10 seconds left, we had each other in the collar&tie, and I managed to hit him with a shot that rocked him. He stumbled into the cage behind him, I apparently got a second wind and started blistering him with shots and managed to KO him with 3 seconds left in the round, as well as hitting him with an extra hook as he fell to the mat. Cherry on the cake is that the year ended after the fight, and it seems I've taken home Fighter of the Year as well, woo! 30-6 record after defeating BJ.
  19. I like Downie because his hometown's about 15 minutes from me. I don't like that he's gone to the Avs because that's Plubby's team, and screw Plubby. I agree with Cauc though, 1st round pick wins Tampa the deal.
  20. Really like this one, nice job dude. (Y) Only thing I'd really say is to crop out the black bar at the bottom and bit of a gray bar at the top, but that's just me nitpicking.
  21. Photoshop but nothing too crazy with it yet. Just trying to get back the skills of using PS Thanks again Doc (Y)
  22. Cool, thanks for the opinions Doc. I actually agree after seeing them all side-by-side. Great to see you're still into graphics after all these years too. I decided to use that Octi-Reim back in the original image, after realizing that it could look pretty good. I don't know why I didn't think of doing this when I was first making the graphic before, but I've done it now. Once again, couldn't decide between a few different tweaks so I'll post all three that I was debating between. Mostly couldn't decide between #1 and #2, but was contemplating #3 as well. #1 #2 #3 (Original photos that I used: Main Body & Crowd - Glove, Stick & Blocker)
  23. I was playing with that myself, to be honest. Couldn't really decide which I liked best, the heavy shadow in that one, a lesser shadow, or no shadow at all. Luckily I'm in the habit of saving .PSDs, so I quickly made two edits - one with a smaller shadow, and one with no shadow. If you'd like to Doc, I'd like to hear which you think looks best. Anyone else is welcome to put in their two cents as well. ^ Original Heavy Shadow ^ <- Reduced Shadow + No Shadow -> -
