  1. I also peaked an interest in starting up a BAGM, albeit not taking it completely serious. Decided to go with Operation: Save Columbus (or, after now seeing what I've done, fail miserably I was half asleep while doing all of this one night). I put way too much thought into the rookie draft, and decided that the future of Columbus is going to be big - in size that is. My defense corps came first. I drafted Sergej Malevich, a 6'4" 207lbs D, as well as Viktor Svedburg, who I deem to be the next Chara, coming in at a chart-rocking 6'8", 224lbs. Not quite sure yet if I'll have the two paired up, or one on each D pair. I also drafted Reto Schappi, a 6'4" 205lbs Center, and his wingmen will be Daniel Zweep (LW, 6'4" 227lbs) and Nick Czinder (RW, 6'5" 240ish lbs). Others of note that I grabbed are Benjamin Bassen (D, 6'5" 209lbs), and Jonas Gunnarson (G, 6'1", 192lbs) who I don't expect to be anything too special but his name is a Leafs players name combo, so bonus points. I had my eye on a few guys as well that ended up getting drafted elsewhere, but I managed to swindle a trade for a few of them for either a 6th or 7th round pick or someone meaningless to me on the roster. Jonathan Lessard (LW) and Pierre-Oliver Morin (LW) came from Chicago and Nashville respectively, and they're both smaller and speedy players than the rest of the guys I drafted. Also smaller is Steve Kuhn © who came from Philly. Also got another RW, 6'6" 249lbs Ronnie McQuaid, who came from LA. Managed to get a trade for the D partner of 6'5" Bassen, and that is Brodie Melnychuk (6'4" 196lbs) who came from Calgary. With the future looking big (), I then turned my attention to reshaping the current team. I had the odd idea in my head before I started the game to try and set up a Grabovki/Kulemin/Zherdev line if I could swing it somehow. Well, for some reason I cannot find Zherdev in the league (at least yet), but I did manage to make a couple trades with Toronto. Traded my 2013 2nd round pick and Kristian Huselius to TOR for Mikhail Grabovski, and my 2012 & 2014 2nd round picks as well as Antoine Vermette to TOR for Nikolai Kulemin. Looking at that now, palm-face a bit, but meh, let's work with it. Next came a deal with the Rangers. Heading out to NY City is Fedor Tyutin, and 2012 & 2013 1st round picks. Coming back to Columbus, Marian freakin' Gaborik. Coming up next, a deal with Nashville. Weber, you say? The bastards wouldn't let him go. Next best bet, Suter is coming to Columbus. Off to Nashville is Derick Brassard, a 2013 3rd round pick (and I think 2014 as well), and someone else I can't remember. Final trade I made thus far, until I find Zherdev at least, was with Philly. LW Alexandre Giroux, a 2014 3rd round pick and a 2015 2nd round pick went to Philly for C Brayden Schenn. My current lines are as follows, with Gaborik and Nash occasionally switching: R.J. Umberger - J. Carter - M. Gaborik N. Kulemin - M. Grabovski - R. Nash M. Calvert - V. Prospal - D. Dorsett C. Gillies - S. Pahlsson - J.Boll R. Suter - N. Nikitin M. Methot - J. Wisniewski G. Clitsome - A. Johnson (G) Tukka Rask - C. Sanford (Backup) I've officially fucked up Columbus for the next 3/4 years or so. (Y) I look forward to seeing how my big-body rookie setup works out though. EDIT: Just traded Steve Mason & a 1st rounder for Tukka Rask.
  2. Sha na-na-na nana na, Sha na-na-na nana Gettin Giggy wit' it.
  3. "Just like, 6 months ago, someone asked me if I tweet, and I said 'Well, only when I've had beans for supper.'" Burke is gold.
  4. Hartnell earned big points in my book too, that's a great move by him to donate $1000 everytime he got knocked down/fell down. (Y) Don Cherry Thumbs Up for him
  5. Yeah, it was all in good fun. Price even said at one point that he didn't want to try poke-checking anyone because he didn't want to take the chance for someone to get hurt. Respect to the guy (Y) All Star Game is getting ready to kick off, lets go Team Chara! 2-0 Team Chara, courtesy of two beauty goals from Gaborik and Malkin. Make that 3-0, 2 nice goals for Gaborik on his team-mate Lundquist. Hossa and Gaborik have crazy good chemistry. 3-1 from a nice tip by Spezza off a Girardi shot. 3-3 after Hartnell and the Sedin Twins put together a nice passing play for the 2nd, and Tavares got the 3rd with a rebound shovel in. Gaborik with a hatty to start the 2nd period. 4-3 Team Chara Kessel to Lupul!! 5-3 team Chara 5-4 after Pominville finished a 3on1 passing play Alfie with a nice one-man effort to tie it up 5-5 and explode the crowd. Sedins to Alfie for his 2nd of the night and in a row, 6-5 Team Alfie. Cue crowd explosion again. Kane ties it up 6-6. Kessel with a beauty!! 7-6 Team Chara! 7-7 thanks to Milan Michaleuk 8-7 for Team Chara from a nice Malkin pass to an Iginla goal cross-crease Giroux ties it at 8-8 after Timmy Thomas slyly tried to throw it away after making a save, and it cost him. Hossa with a beautiful effort and goal, beauty. 9-8 Team Chara 20 seconds later, Gaborik with his 4th goal! 10-8 Team Chara! Perry from Iginla! 11-8 Team Chara! Danny Sedin from Henrik gives Team Alfie some hope. 11-9 Lupul's 2nd!! 12-9 Team Chara! And that does it, Team Chara wins 12-9. Fun game to watch for sure, lots of back and forth action.
  6. Carey Price single handedly wins the Breakaway contest with his antics. My god, I was in stitches. Corey Perry was pretty good too. Thought the cape and glasses was a bit.. much at first, but once he did what he did, it worked great. Holy fuck Chara. 108.8mph, and didn't have a single shot under 106 which alone beat his record.
  7. Of course I know Z and Seguin are teammates, you buffoons I wish that video with Burke was longer, it was good and I was just getting into it. EDIT: There's another 4-minute clip of that interview on that guys site - or Here
  8. Nobody interested in the ASG draft? Team Chara is absolutely going to dominate the game, no questions asked. I'm predicting a Lupul/Seguin/Kessel line at some point in the game. Did not see being the last guy standing. When it came down to the final four, I was expecting Seguin to end up last. That'd be a sweet topping for the Kessel/Seguin comparision.
  9. I have this on PC, it suggested I use medium graphic settings, and it was incredibly laggy to the point of being unplayable. Dumbed it down to Low, and it runs perfectly and still looks great to boot. Odd time it may slow down a little bit but that only lasts a few seconds to a minute tops, and sorts itself out (I'm assuming its from loading the details and NPCs).
  10. I wouldn't exactly mind trading Schenn as long as we got a good return for him. He's a great player and all, but that's half the reason.
  11. Grabbed the demo last night, was pretty good from what I played. Couldn't manage to reverse transitions though, anyone know if they changed that or got rid of it? Been able to do a couple now, just looks like they're not as easy to get as last year, which is probably a good thing so it isn't spammed as much. PRIDE is awesome. I went for a takedown on Wanderlai, only to miss and him to soccer kick me straight in the face as I went to my knees, rocking me. Twas an awesome moment, even to be on the receiving end of. I nearly laugh my ass off everytime I hear the PRIDE announcer's fighter introductions though.
  12. I like that Reims went and got the puck and gave it to Gusty, as that was the first time the Leafs have shutout the Islanders since Belfour did in 2004. Glad to see he's not taking the backup role too hard.
  13. Waiting for someone to post the Anonymous message from youtube today so I can be all "nuh-uh, their twitter denied it."

  14. I'm calling 4 games, bad choices by O-V. Here is Thomas' explanation for not attending the White House trip. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=613279 Good for TT, standing up for his beliefs regardless of what'll be said.
  15. PS3 or 360? I'm on PS3, not sure if its a console-exclusive glitch.
  16. I love that Subban, translated from Swedish to English, is Bitch. Gunnarsson & Monster must joke about it when they play MTL.
  17. I was at first amazed by how many Checks From Behind/Check to the Head/Boarding calls there were. Which explained why there were as many fighting majors as well. Then I noticed the boxscore. Damn, good team effort.
  18. Is that when your loading your saved files, by chance? If so, I was having the same issue and getting irritated. It would load up to 100% then the skater in the background would stop moving, it'd never load and I'd be forced to quit the game. Finally found out that it has something to do with being connected to PSN. Once I signed out of PSN, I was able to load the save with no issues, and haven't had a single freeze since (by signing out when playing BAP). Pretty sure it has to do with either the most recent NHL12 update or the most recent PS update, but either way, it'll probably be fixed before long.
  19. Theres too much blood in my alcohol stream

  20. Happy to see J.S. gettin Giggy with it again. Too bad he wasn't working for us last year, but letting him go gave us a chance to have Monster shine now and Reimer hopefully soon.
