  1. I went for a traditional 4-4-2 system, it didn't work out.
  2. Whatever Animal tells you is a lie How the hell do you guys get so good at this game!?
  3. AD won 3-1, scoring all 3 goals in the second half after I led the game 1-0 for most of the first half. Was a fair result, since my goal was the only shot I managed all game.
  4. Really liking this For some reason. Think it's done well and hits you strong. I also like Despite not being a big fan of war stuff, I like the way youve focused on the right hand side, which adds distance and perspective to it.
  5. Well the cover of the DVD is very very similar, but without the glow - and HHH has swapped positions with Big Show. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y121/thro...ion/wmx2000.jpg So I'm guessing that's a real poster. The DVD itself wasn't much better. The matches at WrestleMania is split over 2 disks, and the extras are poor in comparison to what you get these days. Quite fitting that it should have a cover of appropriate quality. EDIT- Jesus christ look how much taller Shane is on the dvd. and no hand on Shows shoulder. and Vince is tucked in much closer to Rock, and is lower down. Think Linda has also moved slightly in relation to Foley (look closely at Foleys pointed hand and its location on Linda)
  6. They really do. It's not Christmas without a bit of Noddy Holder (Merry Xmas Everybody). Disappointed that they missed the opportunity to add that iconic track during the festive period. Maybe next year!

    Game Damage

I watched it but wasn't terribly impressed. Sadly, I think that is his attempt at translating the Yahtzee character to TV. It didn't really work, because we are staring at him for 30 minutes. Yahtzee is a character that relies on the brevity of his wit. Maybe it would be better with a set, and not using all 3 presenters in every segment. Their banter / interactions aren't nearly as funny as they think they are. For 3 friends that live together, their chemistry is very poor. Perhaps due to nerves - but going on the pilot, they aren't good enough in that format. They reference Top Gear as a format / style they want to replicate, but Top Gear is not 3 guys sitting together on a squashed couch for the duration of the show. They allow each presenter the space to develop their own distinct character and quirks, which can be exploited for future jokes when the trio meets up during the studio links (For example, Clarkson swooning over Will Young). Top Gear wouldn't work so well if they tried to cram all three presenters into every single segment. I would hazard a guess that the Game Damage presenters aren't professional enough to realise the importance of turning down screen time for the greater good of the show.
  8. Hadn't played GTA in months and months after getting stuck on the first Pegorino mission. Fired it back up today and nailed it on the fourth attempt. It reminded me of why I stopped playing this game though. Four times I had to drive Pegorino and his crew half way across the map, then snipe, then enter into close combat with only the shittiest of guns (and an ever depleting supply of ammo - but I was damned if I was going to spend another 15 minutes buying more from Little Jacob), then enter into a car chase (God, I hate these - I suck at driving and they always get away.. infuriating!), another close combat gun wielding session, and a gentle drive taking Pegorino home. Four times I had to do this. Drove me round the fucking twist. I dread to think how many times I tried it in the past before I gave up with GTA. After that mission, before I had even left the premesis and gotten into a car, Pegorino had another mission for me. This time it was a simple case of driving somewhere and shooting everyone with a red arrow above their head. This was fine, but it felt like I had done it a billion times already and I am just so ready for this game to be completed. Sadly, the stats tell me I am only 65% through this game. Starting to wish I had never bothered. After those 2 missions, I'd had more than enough of GTA. Turned it off.
  9. Crackdown 1 was pretty boss. Crackdown came bundled with my 360, and without knowing what the hell it was .... I loved that it reminded me of GTA. GTA with the bonus of having stuff to collect that improves the abilities of your character (The more agility you collect, the higher you can jump - etc) and had a simplistic story mode (Find bad guy, kill bad guy) that didn't frustrate or confuse. I don't like games that are needlessly difficult and realistic. If I need to consult a walkthrough to get to the next level, it isn't the game for me. For me, Crackdown was a throwback to a time when games were fun. I could switch it on for 20 minutes and entertain myself by blowing shit up, and yet there was still enough optional short-term objectives (Orbs) to keep me coming back for more. Then there was the 2-Player mode, which was all kinds of awesome in a world that was pre-Multiplayer GTA. Nowadays there are other games out there that do this genre better than Crackdown, but at the time... it was the bomb. I didn't have any interest in Halo at the time either, so the beta didn't appeal to me. Then of course I got Halo 3 and fell in love with that. Crackdown was then dumped in favour of the slightly hotter chick (Er, game). Crackdown 2? Hmmm. I dunno if I'd buy it. Already got Crackdown 1 and GTA. What would I want another sandbox game for? Think they would have to go for a really surreal game to counterbalance GTAs grisly vacuum of realism and misery.

  13. I hoard games, because whilst I may never play those games again, I think the 50p offered by retailers is insulting. I can think of lots of others things I could do with old games which hold more value. Last year I gave a box of about 20-30 old PSX games to an 8 year old, who thought all his Christmases had come at once. I could use the disks as frisbees. I could use the instruction booklets to start a fire. I could reuse the covers for DVDs etc. As far as I can see, trading in games is utterly pointless - unless you're 13.
  14. I saw the first episode of Fringe, it was a bit meh. Wouldn't rush to see any more of it. Whilst I could criticise it for not being terribly realistic, I'm a big fan of Lost.. so I don't think that matters on its own, but when you couple that with the characters being boring and the show itself being dull, I didn't like it. Heroes I'd recommend. I watched the first series but haven't gotten around to seeing any more. I felt the end of the first series was enough of a conclusion to the show for me, I don't need to see anymore. Not that I'm against seeing any more, I just never got round to it. Watching the second series now would probably be lost on me because I've forgotten a lot of stuff that happened in the first series. First series was good though. Desperate Housewives I'd recommend as well.. It's one of those shows that you have to stick with though because it doesn't click as a show that appeals to our demographic at first. But stick with it and you'll find it to be very light viewing, nothing unpleasant, and a lot funnier than I thought it would be. After 4 series it has really come into its own stride. .. Now I feel dirty for recommending Desperate Housewives. Definitely check out Heroes. I'm surprised you haven't already because it seems to be exactly the kind of thing you are looking for, and is a highly rated TV juggernaught.. so it's pretty difficult to miss. Of the two though, I definitely enjoy Desperate Housewives more. It's got a quirky charm to it.. it's far more grounded in reality and tackling everyday issues than Heroes.. which I often can't relate to.

    South Park

I didn't think it was funny at all - possibly the worst South Park episode I have ever seen. Indiana Jones? I haven't seen the new film and am not interested in the franchise at all. Cartman VS The Chinese? This had scope to be interesting, but never progressed into anything. I'd like to say it was due to time constraints, and fitting 2 story arcs into 20 minutes - but it simply didn't have any substance. It felt like I have seen this before (for example: the 24 parody show) and done A LOT better. Major thumbs down.

    FIFA 09

I love it. I'm glad I bought it. Lots of different game modes, and an online mode that works.

    FIFA 09

Play.com sent me an email this morning telling me that my copy of FIFA09 has shipped. I'm getting it on the 360. Gamertag: DTVincent
  18. Hmmm. It's never good to announce something like this publically until you've put in a lot of work and are confident that A) it can be finished, B) roughly when it will be finished, and C) it helps to have a history of releasing stuff, if you want people to take you as a credible programmer rather than a fantasist. This won't happen. He's asking all the wrong questions. For example, what match types do we want? Eh? There are a billion more important things for you to care about at this stage as a programmer. Go work on those and release a decent game with one match type if that's all you can manage. At the end of the day the match types et al are just sizzle, which won't mean shit if you don't write a nice juicy steak to begin with. It's like asking us 'How fast do you want to go?' when you're towing us along on a pushbike. We know that realistically you'll struggle to reach 20MPH, even with a decent bike and a lot of effort. Meanwhile, you're convinced that we can go 88MPH and travel back in time. Yet all you've got thus far is the frame of a bike with no wheels / brakes / suspension, etc. I'm not great with java, but even I can pick holes in the source code he has written thus far. String[] component4Items = {"Ewbattleground", "Blueright", "Sun Uk", "New-York Times"}; Forget match types, how about storing these values externally so they can be edited? Simple things like this being overlooked in favour of Hell In A Cell are just one of the reasons this isn't being taken seriously by anyone with a clue. Also, whilst I can't quote what isn't there, there is no code that DOES anything with the information provided by the user. No algorithms. No data being turned into information. It's like going to a restaurant, browsing the menu and asking for a full roast with all the trimmings and being given an empty plate. All that time reading the menu and making a choice was wasted, because regardless of your choice, you're still going to get an empty plate. Nobody was actually listening to your order at all.
  19. Tried PES08 again the other day. Noticed that online mode now supports 2 human players on the same team VS other people. Is that a new feature? I swear it must be the byproduct of an XBOX update? Hmm. Regardless, it was wholly unplayable due to lag. A bit of stuttering I can put up with, but the ball would disappear entirely and reappear at the other end of the field. This game has been out almost a year now and is still fundamentally broken. This can't be just me, right? Online does not work. That's scaring me away from 09. If 08 had that teething problem and was fixed, I wouldn't worry. But 08 is still unplayable online, which tells me that Konami just don't give a shit .....?
  20. I don't mind playing with you guys on RB1 (tag: DTVincent). I can do... Easy: Drums Hard: Guitar Bass Expert: Vocals I don't mind doing anything but drums. I hate drums.
