  1. Lol that was the first thing I noticed too - the Statue of Liberty in London? Very interesting and conceptual. It's all looking good thus far guys. Me next?
  2. My honest advice to you is try to distance yourself from WWE sigs. You are placing too much emphasis on them, and how to create them. It's as if you can't see the forest because of all the trees blocking your view. Don't look for a tutorial on how to make WWE sigs (there likely isn't one), teach yourself the fundamentals of digital images, how they work, and read up on theories that apply to all images, such as focal points, correct usage of colour, effective use of typography, and so on. What I am saying is that if you learn the fundamental basics and underlying concepts of what a digital image is, and learn how to use the software you are using, those skills will carry over to any images you make in the future - which may well be WWE sigs. But you seem to be trying to run before you can walk, and the best advice I could give you is to slow down and take things one step at a time.
  3. I can only echo everyone else; that price has completely removed any desire I had to buy this game. That's just poor marketing, because they have managed to take a large number of people that were previously chomping at the bit to buy their product, and horribly overpriced it to the point that their potential (and damn near certain to be) customers are no longer interested.
  4. I want a tablet. Recommend me a decent one.
  5. It's just a shame that the ladder is floating in the air, lol - good idea though.
  6. My main complaints are fake copyright logos for no reason whatsoever, and them being too tall for sigs. Everything else is fine and falls under the category of personal taste and designer style.
  7. Stateofmind, that looks amazing as my desktop wallpaper. Good job.
  8. I think the Wii version looks much better. More vibrant colours, more cartoony like it's a game, etc. 360 & PS3 look too serious n such for my liking.
  9. The main problem with the business model is having a retail outlet in a physical location. This limits your customer base to the locals, and rent costs would far outweigh the profits you would make on games that aren't worth much on eBay and probably wouldn't fetch all that much in a shop either. It's an idea that would be really cool to do, but if it were profitable it would have been done to the point of saturation. The fact that it isn't a competitive market suggests that there is no demand. Although to be honest, if ever there was a time to do a gaming shop, this is it. Games are becoming more and more popular, with adults growing up in the digital age, and kids always being interested in games. I read somewhere a while back that games are closing the gap on videos/dvds as sources of entertainment. That's a pie that I'd like a slice of.
  10. Batman Begins for the PS2. I found it to have incredibly repetitive gameplay that went on forever and ever, and my determination to finish the game was worn down by its lack of varied gameplay and boredom setting in. Plus my PS2 is packed away in a cupboard, which means it'll never see the light of day again anyway.
  11. It should be £85 at the current conversion rate (US: $169.99), but by the same logic Guitar Hero should cost £45 (US: $89.99) and yet the retail price is £70.
  12. I'm starting to get bored waiting for this game to get a European release.
  13. The problem with selling old stock for 5p, is that it would impact sales of other items in the store. Some people buy games like GTAIV on release day regardless of any other factors, but I can't imagine the majority of consumers browsing the store (maybe looking for gifts for young relatives) deciding to buy Burnout: Paradise for £49.99 when there is a different driving game on sale for £0.05 I do like the idea of donating them to charity shops. Although that requires time and effort that a retail chain often doesn't have the patience for.
  14. Best game purchase I ever managed was Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus for the PS1. It was £19.99 in GAME (Electronics Boutique at the time), and they had a price-match scheme going on. Currys were selling it for £9.99, and they agreed to match the price. I then gave them a "£10 Off Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus" promotional voucher that they had sent me through the post. I left with the game and a penny (change).
  15. I wish they would hurry up and release more details about the online aspect of the game.
  16. What are the most fun games to play online, with multiple consoles in the room (LAN party style) ? I've got Halo3 (Shooting) and PGR3 (Driving) lined up, can anyone suggest games from other genres with exceptionally good XBOX Live multiplayer OR system link modes?

    Countdown

I watched it recently. I never realised before how tedious the whole "Consonant... Vowel... Another one... Another one... Consonant... Another one" stuff is. I wish they would just get on with it like the numbers, or automate it. After the sixth time of Billy-No-Charisma taking his sweet time deciding what should comes next, it gets annoying. As for the dictionary corner, when I was watching it had June Ackland from The Bill. She told a shaggy-dog story about the snails in her garden. I don't quite know how the dictionary corner works, though. How does a dictionary help them re-arrange random letters into a lengthy word? Even if they spot a long word in the letters that needs checking in the dictionary, they wouldn't have time to look it up. What they really need is a computer to do it for them, and work out the best scoring words.

    PES 2008

How does the face recognition thing work when creating a player? Does it need a vision camera or can you use a photo stored on your PC hard drive?
  19. Dragsy, I agree with you, but I think it is because so many people are familiar with the FPS genre, whether it's Halo, Half Life, Unreal Tournament, etc... that a lot of the lower ranked players are only lower ranked because they have just bought Halo and are yet to work their way up the rankings yet. I get just as frustrated at never being the winner, I'm often never anywhere close to the top of the scoreboard. I find the best way to solve this is to have a private game with friends. I must say though, playing with the better players and such does allow you to improve. When I first started I was hopeless, I have definitely improved through practise. Slowly but surely.
  20. Ahhh, God bless co-op campaign. After a marathon session last night (til 3am) and this morning, it's done and dusted on Normal difficulty. I'm officially a converted Halo fan.
  21. Ahh that makes sense. Thankies. Also a friend of mine bought the Halo 3 Limited Xbox 360 console as his reward for passing his driving test. Apparently it's nice and green.
  22. I had completed four levels of the campaign of my own, then did the fifth level with a friend over XBL. I got the achievement for completing the level, then my friend had to go. We exited the game and I resumed my single player campaign. I thought I would start after the fifth level, on the sixth level. But it loads me up at the beginning of the fifth level again, which I just beat. Do I really have to go through it again? or can I just carry on with a friend tomorrow and get the achievement for completing the game at the end of the last level? Cos given the choice between redoing level five and completing the rest of the game on my own, or continuing from where I left off with a friend... I'd much rather continue with a friend. It's much more fun that way.
  23. I bought this today with no previous experience of Halo whatsoever. I'll be online either this evening or tomorrow, gamertag: DTVincent.
