  1. Who voted for Arctic Incident besides Melkon and me? It is a great book, and my personal favorite in the series. Glad to see it on the list.
  2. Great Big Sea's Folk music is very good. Also The Irish Descendents are pretty good as well. I obviously know a lot of Newfoundland folk music, but I mainly know song names, like "Saltwater Joys", and not so much band names. I usually get them mixed up.

Are the chances of "Chinese Democracy" being releaed in 06/07 very likely? I remmeber several months ago, MuchMusic stated that it'd be released in fall 06, but I haven't heard anything of it.

I'd like to see new albums from: Avril Lavigne - but with her recent marriage, may not happen this year. Sum 41 - I loved Chuck, wanna see how they take it from there. I loved their love album too, I just need new songs. Green Day - Wanna see how they do post-American Idiot. I really didn't like it as much as their earlier stuff though.
  5. Goldeneye was a superb game, and I don't even like shooter games. No Mercy was just kinda "meh" for me. Didn't like how it played. Super Smash Bros was pretty awesome, better than Melee for GC. Star Fox 64 I kinda enjoyed. I also loved the mini games in Pokemon Stadium. But overall I felt that N64 and GC were a step down from NES and SNES. But I have a feeling that Wii will be Nintendo's best console since SNES.
  6. Songs I hate? This'll be fun. Every song from Pussycat Dolls. Every song from Hedley. Every song from Ashlee Simpson. Every song from Jessicae Simpson. Every song from Fallout Boy. "Lips of an Angel" from Hinder is just terrible. "Crazy" by Gnarles Barkley is extremely annoying. Black Eyed Peas 2004-2006. Every song Fregie has done, and every song she'll make in the future. The noise that comes out of Paris Hilton's mouth. Every song from Simple Plan. Every song from Good Charolate. Beyonce 2005-2006 And sadly, they all get stuck in my head because their so catchy. "Lips of an Angel" was playing on the radio on the busride to school, and suicide became a realistic option for me.
  7. And to the person who said Fight Club's ending was weak....YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE NOVEL! Try reading the book sometime... Fight Club's a very good film, even if it does seem to be making some kind of overly clever point. It's not really, it's saying men are being forced into becoming less masculine by an increasingly feminine-centric society. Some men are upset by it.
  8. Great list. Pulp Fiction was superb. And R.Dogs and F.Club are on my "must watch" list.
  9. Wizard of Oz bitches!!! Other than that one, nothing. I thought Godfather and Emire would be the top 2.
  10. Archie Bonker from "All in the Family". Half the characters from "The Simpson" (too many favorites to mention). Dean Winchester from "Supernatural". Darlene, David, and Roseanne from "Roseanne".
  11. I found Family Guy Seasons 1 and 2 to be good. Season 3 to be mediocre. And past that, just to be awful. And ever since their obvious Simpsons insult on a later season episode, I've tried my best to boycott Family Guy.
  12. Clerks and Empire Strikes Back = 2 awesome movies Never saw Goodfellas but people have called it a classic. I honestly have no idea what'll be in the Top 3 as I never read other peoples nominations. And I'm pretty sure by now Wizard of Oz won't make the list. Aw well. Still satisfied with the list.
  13. Only book that I voted for that I can see make the list is The Stand. Well, here's hoping. And I tried to read The Hobbit once, but I don't like Tolkein's writing. Aw well.
  14. I find recommending horror movies hard, especially a non-gore one. So obviously avoid Saw, Hills Have Eyes, Hostel, Devil's Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses, and many like those. Avoid Blair Witch Project 1 and 2, their just terrible. And when you say "she isn't into old stuff", clarify. Like for me 60's-00's is new, and 10's-50's is old horror. For non gore classics, Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde ('31), Cabinet of Dr. Caligari ('19), but she probably won't like them. Psycho ('60) is fantastic, not violent, and by today's standards isn't really scary. Exorcist is fantastic, and scared the crap out of me. The Shining is supposively scary, I didn't find it though. Halloween (for a slaher) is hardly violent at all. Carrie is a wonderful movie. Poltergeist is another great one. But like I said, I'm not sure what she classifies as "old" though, as they were all 60's - 80's. A current one would be The 6th Sense. I hated it, but a lot of people seemed to like it.
  15. Watched 3 movies on TV last night. The Wedding Singer: 7/10 Not much to say, a good comedy. One of Sandlers' better movies. What About Bob?: 7/10 A good psychiotic comedy, I love watching again and again. Donnie Darko: 8.5/10 Maybe it was because I missed the first 20 minutes, or it was 2am and my mind was shutting down, but this movie confused me. None the less, still a great movie.
  16. Redemtpion and Sin two superb movies. Never saw Monty Python. Besides Empire Strikes Back, I have no idea what'll make the list.
  17. Today I just popped in a VHS tape I recorded several years ago. Dragon Ball Z (1): The Dead Zone Pretty enjoyable flick, though voice acting is weak compared to later movies and the show. 6.5/10 Dragon Ball Z (2): The World's Strongest Not one of the better ones. Story was weak compared to others. 6/10 Dragon Ball Z (3): The Tree of Might My favorite of the first 3. Funnest story, and longest one. This one actually reaches 60 minutes. 6.5/10 Dragon Ball Z (TV Special): Bardock, Father of Goku Of of the 19 DB/DBZ movies, this one ranks in the top 5 easily. Superb story, and very emotional. Also has very good fight scenes. 7.5/10 Dragon Ball Z (TV Special): History of Trunks Did a good job at explaining the story of Future Trunks, this movie was needed. Gave us an understanding of what he went through. 7/10 Coming soon, Lord Slug, and Legendary Super Saiyan.
  18. Shaun of the Dead was very good. Not awesome though. If only 1 zombie movie should have been on the list, should have been Night of the Living Dead. Maybe Dawn. Damn, spots are getting low. Things are looking bad for Wizard of Oz.
  19. The Hills Have Eyes has a much better storyline than Saw, in my opinion, and certainly a better storyline than the entire Mortal Kombat franchise (and I'm an MK fan). Little mining town refuses to abandon their livelihood despite the nuclear testing in their area, as a result they're adversely affected by the effects of the tests, and cut off from society. Over the generations, the necessity of in-breeding tied in with the radiation causes them to become mutated, and they can only live off whatever they find. Genuinely scary situation, that's what I want from a horror movie. The Hills Have Eyes is one of the finest American horror movies ever made, and the remake's only slightly worse, but balanced out because the violence is a lot more realistic and brutal, and not in a stylised Hollywood sense. It's a little bit hypocritical, in my opinion, to lash out at someone for assuming you like one thing only because of the violence, and then state that all another product has to offer is violence.
  20. IV A New Hope: 2 Thumbs Up. 9/10 VI Return of the Jedi: 2 Thumbs Up. 9/10 Scarface: 2 Thumbs Up. 9/10 Office Space: never saw Usual Suspects: never saw I'm loving this list more and more. Wait, only 14 movies left. *crosses fingers for Wizard of Oz*.
  21. You've got to be shitting me. You think the mortal combat games are better than the tekken games? Thats laughable. The tekken games are actually much more techinical and complex and deeper then any and all of the Mortal Kombat games. Let me guess, you're just in it for the blood and gore right? Only someone who knows jack shit about tekken would even say that its gameplay engine is crap. I can actually back up my arguement if you'd like.
  22. People voted for CSI Miami!? Damn. The only good CSI show is the original.
  23. Kinda early, but from what I've seen so far, this is the best list I've ever seen on EWB. Just hoping for Wizard of Oz.
  24. 1. The Tekken engine is better than the MK engine. Hahahaha, funny. People think it's better, because they supposively try to make it really advanced. But it's not even fun to play. Just a pain. 2. The developers have admitted that they intentionally make some of the MK characters cheap (ie, the aforementioned Moloch in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance). I don't mind cheap characters a whole lot. Sure I could never beat Moloch in DA, but that's only because I suck as MK games. 3. Take out the fatalities\animalities\friendships, etc, and MK might as well be Street Fighter with better graphics. I don't even do Fatalities a whole lot in the game. And I wasn't fond of all the other "alities", they were just icing on the cake. I love Mortal Kombat, because of its in depth storyline and characters.
