Yeah, I'm not sure who they picked for voting, but shortly after ticking those little boxes, the volunteers should of been packed into a train and taken to a concentration camp where they'd be gased.

As much as I like Channel4, these '100 greatest' bullshit has to stop, because no doubt it will pop back up again next year and this time it'll be the FastFoodRockers or something.

I was watching that last night, and was racking my brains what number 1 would have been. I expected Nevermind, Appetite For Destruction and Sgt Pepper in the top 10, but I didn't think OK Computer would win. Not too bad, but it could have been better, I guess.

Radiohead at number one is pretty bad, but Oasis at number six and fifteen? What the fuck is all I can simply say. The Verve - Urban Hymns isn't even one of the best 200 albums of all time, let alone one of the top 20.

Terrible list, it makes the list that VH1 did of the 100 greatest albums of all time look good, actually it is. I'll post it up here in a minute to compare the two.

I didn't think the list was that bad to be honest.

Even though I never really 'got' Radiohead, so to speak, its nice to have something different for a change in Top Albums and not just the usual Joshua Tree or Dark Side Of The Moon. So far its about Channel 4's only so-called 'poll' that even remotely looked like it was voted for by they're viewers.

Anybody that votes Radiohead over Pink Floyd as the best album of all time is odd. Radiohead may be a great band, but Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall are works that only come around once a century.

And Black Sabbath's Paranoid at 40 is way low.

But why am I shocked about this result? Honestly, any time a list by a consensus of people is made, there will be biases towards the newer stuff over the all time greats, no matter who the people are. So, bleh.

So rather than having the tired cliche albums at number 1, you don't like having something a little bit fresh and different?

Even I'm not the biggest fan of OK Computer (I prefer The Bends), but I can see why people would vote it so highly. Other then that, I think the list is fine. I can't argue much with anything, as I like a lot of the albums, and think they are worthy of a top 100 placing.

Honestly, people need to stop being so negative about any polls, as the second they don't like something, people are like "this is the sux0r" when its general consensus of the people they asked, so it has some bearing.

EDIT: I bought London Calling as it was cheap...good album, but I definitely prefer Nevermind to it.

If those "tired cliche" albums are MUCH BETTER than the other works, than yes. Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall (though, much more towards The Wall simply for HeyYou and Comfortably Numb) conveyed brilliance that still can be seen today years after the albums' releases and while the Radiohead release was a nice album, there's just no comparision. OK Computer probably deserves number one on a modern best album chart, but not for the best of ALL TIME chart.

But as I said, I'm not surprised about why it goes down this way. People will lean towards what they've listened to lately more than classic albums. And if those people like Radiohead better than Pink Floyd than so be it.

I dislike Pink Floyd, and like Radiohead....what makes my opinion on the thing less valid then yours? Nothing.

If more people thought my way than yours, thats the way it is.

EDIT: And further sweep of the top 10 shows that at a minimum, I prefer U2 - Joshua Tree and Nirvana - Nevermind to anything by Pink Floyd.

Heck, even Jeff Buckley - Grace is a more favourite vote of mine for greatest album. He just has the small problem of having a more cult following than a band like Pink Floyd.

Yeah, go wannabe! Woooo! Internet crusade! Stop people from bitching about things on the internet!

Ugh.

Because maybe that is all people do online?

Just because your personal opinion doesn't PERFECTLY match up with an online poll, doesn't mean that the poll is rubbish. Maybe your opinion is so niched, that no-one would rigthfully vote for what you may want?

Think before you speak.

EDIT: Scanning the top 20, there is no naff album. People have different opinions....so if they deem one great album to be better than another great album, even if you don't, then just deal with it.It's not as if the album doesn't deserve to be around.

Hey, ever think that's why people come on the internet? To, you know, vent? And bitch about things that normally couldn't in real life? Oh my!!

Oh, shit, I didn't think before I spoke. I am so sorry oh great one. Will you ever forgive me?

Yeeah. Give it up. It's what the internet is for.
