EDIT: And Tristy, sometimes I get the idea that you just don't seem to like more commercialised output from the bands you are into. The Hand That Feeds did its job well, being a catchy kickstart to the "With Teeth" buzz, and "The Widow" isn't going to be overly amazing, as a lot of thier more complex stuff isn't commercially viable.

I don't like when bands change their style just to get radio airplay or MTV airtime.

Couldn't have said it better.

Considering TMV don't "have" a style per se, and NIN have always had the propensity to do up-tempo, dancier stuff (even when it can be a little bit darker in tone), I don't think that either "changed thier style" for those two songs.

The Hand That Feeds was a completely different song from what Trent has ever done. Never before has there been political undertones and overtones in one of his songs. Never.

The Mars Volta... it's meant to be catchy, and it's the shortest track on the whole fuckin' CD. I don't think it's a coicendence.

So, he can't be political for once? I'm just talking about the way the song sounds, which isn't a massive stretch from what they already do.

And a lot of The Mars Volta songs are catchy, doesn't mean that that one is specifically written for commercial purposes. Having not listened to the album for a while, the only song I actually remember any of is L'Via...whatever it's called, so if The Widow is supposed to be thier "catchy" song, it doesn't do its job.

I don't really know much of rap, so I can't really comment that much, nor am I really a fan of Thursday, but the presence of Minor Threat, Black Flag and MOTHERFUCKING Gackt more than makes up for that! Mind Forest is a quality song, as is TV Party and My War.

Wow, what a list. This basically sums up my musical tastes, and when I made this last night I tried to spread things out and not get too much of one artist. I have so many songs because I burnet an mp3 cd, which allows for more songs if they are in mp3 format. So yeah, rate away.

8/10. Of the bands I've heard, I can't really complain (not a big Queen fan, but they're good at what they do, and no matter how many "hardcore rock fans" tell me I have to, I can't like Bob Marley too much, my taste won't let me).

Too much Iggy Pop, and way too much Marlyn Manson :shifty: The songs from the bands I do like aren't the best, but that wasn't the aim of the CD (is it ever?), so it's cool.

Oh..yeah...I need a list too. Uhhh...I'll edit one in later :P

Finally, someone who knows who the fuck Gackt is. The only other person from EWB that I know of who knows who he is is GoGo, and he doesn't really like him. ;/ I have a friend who's obsessed with him though

As for rating yours.. The Beach Boys is enough for a 10/10.
