I haven't seen Rangers as shit in a long time. That was abysmal. The tactics were messed up; he had no one covering the far side at all really. Haven't been as disappointed in the Gers in ages.

But then I went to see Linfield play Armagh, and the former won 5-0, so I'm happy enough now :D.

News doing the rounds is Keane will decide this week where he is going, and on Radio Clyde they said the new Rangers manager will be named on Thursday, it's not someone who is in the frame for it (i.e Curbishley, Le Guen etc) and they will have money to spend due to money coming into the club.

Fair play to Rangers. Whilst I may not be the biggest Rangers fan, that's some achievement when you think about the kind of state they're in at the moment. At least now if McLeish does go, he can walk out with his head held high.

It's some achievement as well considering the amount of money David Murray in the 90s gave to other managers like Walter Smith & Dick Advocaat and the calibre of players they brought in, yet McLeish with nowhere near the kind of spending power managed to do it.

His stock's risen and he should'nt have nay trouble finding another job if he goes.

Three times in the last four years we have drawn bloody Hearts in the third round and they always have been away from home. We drew against them last year and then got hammered at home in the replay so I'm not to hopeful.

Anyway, has anyone else heard rumours linking Jim Jeffries to the Dundee UTD job and I hope everyone will be supporting Killie today in our match against Rangers (Y)

Lets get this over with

* "Slightly" biased view by the way (Y) "

Just to get this started, Rangers fans are the biggest wankers I've ever seen, I hate when Killie play Rangers. You could never take a small kid to games against Rangers, as some of the songs they sing are atrocious. Some of the stuff about the UVF and all the sectarianism could make you physically and mentally sick and the Rule Britannia - well they just sing that to rile us up.

Onto the game. We made one change to our team with Nish injured and Gary McDonald replacing him. We were on the back foot for most of the first 15 minutes and they got their reward in the 16th minute when a good Bob Malcolm (Bob Malcolm and Good in the same sentence, never thought I'd see that) was picked up by Lovenkrands who slotted the ball under keeper Combe. However, and I haven't seen any TV showings of this but Lovenkrands looked quite a bit offside. To make matters worse the linesman was Andy Davis, for anyone that doesn't know who this man is then let me tell you. Rnagers - Hearts last season at Tynecatle. Last few minutes of the game, high ball is played into the box, big Kyriakos (sp) tries to get onto the end of it with a diving header. No contact is made with the Hearts player, ref sees nothing and no complaints from the Rangers players. But then Andy Davis with his Rangers scarf tucked into his jersey raises his flag and gives Rangers a penalty.

He hasn't managed a Rangers game again. Till today.

And guess who the linesman was when Rangers got their debatable goal. I think you can probably guess.

Anyway after the goal, Jim Jeffries has a hairy fit at the fourth official and is sent to the stand - oh how I wish he had just ran up and nutted Davis.

You would think it couldn't get any worse but when Kris Boyd rose for a high ball into the ball from Garry Hay, his directed header towards Danny Invincible was blatantly and I mean blatantly handled by Malcolm. Referee John Underhill waved play on and it raged to the other end, where Combe blocked from Buffel at point-blank range after being picked out by Lovenkrands. Rangers got a second after good play by Buffel who crossed into the box for Lovenkrands to hammer the ball home.

Combe superbly parried away a Lovenkrands shot and Chris Burke's effort on the rebound was cleared off the line by Ford as Rangers threatened to run riot.

Half time came and we were should have been at worst 2-1 down. All supporters in the ground gave a warm round of applause to Davie McKinnon who spent his hey day captaining Killie and is a Rangers and Killie legend.

Rangers continued to dominate after the break, but we got ourselves back into the game out of the blue. Steven Naismith pounced after a mix up between Marvin Andrews and goalkeeper Ronald Waterreus before setting up Gary McDonald for an easy finish from four yards. Naismith again was inches away from connecting to an Allan Johnston cross after Watterus had flapped at it. We had other chances to get an equaliser but we were caught on the counter.

Buffel pounced on Barry Ferguson's through ball. The Belgian turned his Simon Ford inside out before Lovenkrands nipped it off his toes to slot the ball into the empty net and seal his hat-trick. But there was to be a tense finish to the game after all when the ball broke to Kris Boyd from a Stevie Murray free-kick and he bundled over with eight minutes to go.

Player Ratings:

Alan Combe 8/10: Kept us in the game early on with key saves from Buffel and Lovenkrands.

Jamie Fowler 9/10: Simply outstanding in the holding role behind the midfield, a performance Makalele would have been proud of. Deserved his Man Of The Match award.

Garry Hay 5/10: Must have had his boots on the wrong feet. His crosses didn't beat the first man and looked shaky when under pressure from Burke.

Fraser Wright 7/10: Another that looked particularly shaky in his first game against the OF. Couldn't handle Lovenkrands.

Gordon Greer 6/10: Far too inconsistent. One minute he was playing a superb 60 yard ball, next minute he was playing it straight to them.

Simon Ford 8/10: Was caught out a few times but overall was a solid performance from the big man.

Gary McDonald 7/10: Got a goal but didn't get involved in the game at all.

Kris Boyd 6/10: Usual, does fuck all in the game and still gets on the scoresheet.

Danny Invincibile 5/10 (56 mins Murray): Couldn't really use his pace which is his one asset and was subbed early in the second half.

Allan Johnston 8/10: Showed some really fancy pieces of skill in the first half, running Ferguson rotten but gradually faded out the game.

Steven Naismith 8/10: Ran his heart out. Never gave up on any loose ball and he didn't deserve to be on the losing side.

Stevie Murray 8/10: Changed the game completely when he came on and was always a threat.

JJ's comments:

I've seen it on television and I still think it was offside. (Rangers 1st goal) But I'm not here to slag the officials for giving an offside goal. I've done my piece and I took the punishment and was sent to the stand. (right) That shouldn't detract from the effort the players put in. They shouldn't be down about a game that they deserved something from. (On Malcolm handling in the box) "I don't think it was a good shout. I think it was a great shout. I am annoyed because I knew there might be something controversial today when I saw who the official was, Maybe the authorities should not give people games if they've been involved with controversy with a certain club."

Only one Jim Jefferies :lmao:

A British club playing Rule Britannia, I fail to see the problem?

Marcos, you sound like a paranoid Celtic fan. Are Killie the only team in the world that gets decisions against them?

Jefferies apoligised after seeing the goal again and accepted his automatic touchline ban without any appeal.

I said that I hadn't seen a video replay of their first goal and now that I have seen it I can confirmthat he was just on side. Simon Ford didn't pull out in time with both Fraser Wright and Gordon Greer. It was the correct decision but I guess I'm like JJ, when I seen who the linesman was I was looking for something to complain about.

If you have seen the incident then you must admit the Malcolm incident was a defenite penalty while the Naisy one with Andrews is debatable. I still would like to point out that in the years 've been watching Scottish football and going to watch Killie, I'm certain that more decisions have went to the Old Firm even if they are wrong than for any team outside the Old Firm.

Maybe ref's need to take a good look at themselves. I know they have to make a decision to a major incident quick as a flash but I feel they are swayed when teams are playing the old firm. Just my opinion, its maybe not anyone elses.

Also on the Rule Brittania point, I wasn't making anything against that. I just said they were doing it to spite us or rile us up. It's the playing of UVF songs and sectarian songs which just takes the pish.

Simply The Best was removed because of some law suit shit.

NOW LOOK WHAT'S HAPPENED. WE'RE NOT THE BEST NOW.

Is anyone else having trouble following the season? I've barely seen a game all season, because the Setanta bastards have every single SPL game on PPV. Why? Nobody's going to get to see the games except people who live to watch Celtic play, and that is their sole function in life. You know the Rangers fans don't want to watch, and I don't think any other supporters could afford the prices. (¬_¬)

I think I could get a season ticket at Ibrox for less than it would take to buy all their games on PPV.

Luckily the Champions League games are on Sky Sports (and BBC/ITV) so I have something to watch. <_<

And Fields Of Athenry is a cool song. >_>

My point still stands about it being a problem. The Rangers Board know what context the songs I mentioned are sung in by the fans, they still play it, yet they will engage in proposals by the government to tackle bigotry. Thats a clear case of double standards.

Setanta can make it money back and then some on the power of The Old Firm derby games alone, thats what will have drawn them to paying for the rights, quite frankly the rest of us are stuck with it. I've only seen a few games this season by going to the pub and even then you are bound to spend more than paying for the game on its own.

If only Sportscene was still on instead of that sham of a football show called Scotsport SPL.
