9.20.05 - SYSTEM OF A DOWN SET TO RELEASE HYPNOTIZE NOVEMBER 22 ON CD AND DUALDISC

Six months after System of a Down’s Mezmerize debuted at number one on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart, the uncompromising and outspoken quartet returns with Hypnotize, part two of a promised two-album set. American Recordings/Columbia will release two versions of Hypnotize, the band’s fifth studio album, on November 22nd.

Both the CD and DualDisc versions feature 12 new songs as well as artwork by Vartan Malakian, father of SOAD’s guitarist/singer Daron. The packaging for Hypnotize is specially designed to physically join Mezmerize and Hypnotize together, forming one unified product with continuous artwork. Additionally, the DualDisc edition will contain a film by Gariné Torossian which explores the making of both records.

More importantly, the albums interlock musically. The final track on Hypnotize, “Soldier Side” completes “Soldier Side Intro,” which appears as the opening track on Mezmerize.

I've already heard "Kill Rock N Roll" and "Holy Mountain" live, and without doubt, this album it sounding fucking immense, hopefully equalling Hypontize.

Hypnotize sounds a nice little track, all the signs so far are awesome - and I love the flashing image that would seem to be the front cover. Vartan Malakian has really been a great choice for the artwork on both albums it seems.

Here is the coverart for Hypnotize...

I like it but I wish they had stuck with a theme similar to Mezmerize in design - ala a black background with the blue figure incorporated like the Mezmerize one. That way it would fit better as a set in my view.

Awesome, I did think soldier side had a great tune to it but was unfortunately short and for cover art I do like the broken up clock which is a sort of continuation from Mesmerize.

I've got it and four tracks in i'm stunned, how the hell can this band keep pulling this quality of music out?! Attack is awesome, Dreaming is even better, Kill Rock N Roll is unbelievable, I mean fucking hell this album is good.
