Some less heavy choices (And I recommend you go with EBG's suggestion of Death By Stereo) but you can still rock the fuck out.

Rise Against

Torches

Black Masks & Gasoline

Tip The Scales

Generation Lost

State Of The Union

Voices off Camera

Halfway There

Stained Glass & Marble

Life Less Frightening

Give It All

Blood Red, White and Blue

Break The Silence (NOOOOOOOOO!!! Dan why did you have to leave...first RA and now BTS. They were my favourite new band of 2004. At least I saw them live. They say a new album is due fairly soon though :D)

Drawbridge

Slaughter Of The Soul

Ocean's Away

At War With Instinct

Six Foot Revolver

Iris

Strung Out (Mostly their more 'rocky' tracks)

Lucifermotordcade

Scarlet

Everyday

Savant (I like both the original and the live version...live one there's some good vocal harmonies and you can hear the bass better. Drums are quieter though)

Bring Out Your Dead (LIAD version is better IMO)

Lost Motel (There's a studio version doing the rounds, but the LIAD version is better)

Cemetary

Analog

Don't Look Back (One of my favourite riffs...the LIAD version has more drive)

Velvet Alley

Her Name In Blood

Ultimate Devotion

Your Worst Mistake

Strike Anywhere

Sunset on 32nd

My Design

Earthbound

New Architects

Blaze

Aluminium Union

Timebomb Generation

Chalkline

Chorus Of One

Clubbing music? Well, there are the usual suspects at the clubs I visit:

Jump Around by House of Pain

Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit

Smack my bitch up by Prodigy

Hitchin a Ride by Green Day

Bro Hymm Tribute by Pennywise

Uhh... my brain is fried from last night, I can't think at all. Don't worry, I'm going clubbing on wednesday, I'll update this...

Take a notebook and pen.

Led Zeppelin?

Mars Volta?

Motorhead?

SOAD?

Million Dead?

God I hate Gwar.

You don't sound like the metal type

Why's that?

I'll run with the liking of Disturbed, and just asking for some rock out music (which makes you sound like you want just that....rock, or relatively mainstream metal).

Just because I can't be arsed with listing hundreds of sub genres. Rock = everything rock based. Metal, hardcore, nu-metal, emo, screamo, post-nerdcore, shitonastickcore. I just want some lively music. Moreso ROCK music. Including br00tal metal, or "zomg, u nu metal fag" stuff.

Does it have to be rock? I mean, some other genres can make you bang your head.

Nah, anything.

I know you, so I know you'd go for metal, but to someone who doesn't, the post made it sound like you wanted rock, rather than anything really overtly heavy.

Plus not everyone thinks that rock = metal, so it depends on how you categorise (like, in CD shops, you have Pop and Rock, and then you have Metal sections).

Whilst I'm at it......ermmm....check out Mastadon's "Remission" album, especially the songs "Crusher Destroyer" and "March Of The Fire Ants"....oh, and from thier "Leviathan" album, get "Blood And Thunder" and "Naked Burn".

Put in a band you want, it plays music from bands like them. So if you know what you like (AC/DC for example), it'll give you more of that kind of style. I use Pandora every weekend, round about this time actually.

The trial runs out after an hour or so, but you register for free, no e-mail shit, no name-taking, etc. It's just basically like logging in.
