And Collective Soul ripped off Metallica's "King Nothing" for their song "Counting The Days".

Oh, and RHCP isn't the only band to blatantly rip-off Tom Petty.

There's a vocal melody in "Fell In Love With A Girl" by The White Stripes that's the same as a riff from "Last Dance With Mary Jane" as well.
