Sunday Night Heat

Broadcast on the 3rd of February 2002 from War Memorial Arena, Pennsylvania

Tough Enough?

Sunday Night Heat began in chaotic fashion, Marc Mero and Torrie Wilson making their way to the ring to kick the night off with a WWF Cruiserweight Championship Match. Ever since Mero won the Cruiserweight title three weeks ago at the Royal Rumble, Mero has been very selective with the opponents he has faced and tonight was no exception challenging Jeff Hardy, even though by all rights, Jeff should still be on the injury list after damaging his ankle earlier in the week. Due to Jeff’s injury, Mero looked to take advantage dropping Jeff in the early goings and used anything he could to work the ankle. But despite a solid game plan, Mero may have felt himself lucky to come out of the match with his title after Mero missed Jeff Hardy with the Kiss that Don’t Miss (How Ironic!) allowing Jeff to hit the twist of fate. Luckily for Mero, he had some back up in Torrie Wilson, Wilson holding up Jeff for long enough so that Mero could hit the frankensteiner before finishing him off with the TKO. Marc Mero quickly leaves the ring after the match celebrating on the outside with Torrie, Mero surely realising just how lucky he was to survive that match!

After the match, we went backstage to see Rikishi who also seemed to be being cheated tonight; cheated by the vending machine. Enter Billy Kidman to the situation and you know something is going to go down. Kidman began to mock Rikishi over his loss in the previous week to William Regal, Kidman being of the opinion that Rikishi has made the WWF European Title somewhat of a joke. Rikishi tried his best to ignore these bold comments but he’d heard enough after Kidman began to rant on about Rikishi being of such a low calibre that even the Brooklyn Brawler could beat him. Rikishi told Kidman if he was looking for a fight, he just found one and swung out for Kidman, Kidman lucky that other men were around to quickly pull them apart. Rikishi told Kidman that he’d see him in the ring later tonight. Title and all….

Funaki was having a rather bad run of luck as of late having somehow brought on the wrath of his former tag team partner TAKA Mickinoku and tonight was not about to get better as Funaki went one on one with TAKA’s henchman, Taiyo. Taiyo lead Funaki around the ring from get go, fans unsure if they were watching a wrestling match or some sort of odd Japanese ritual. Taiyo suplexed the hell out of Funaki, the belly to belly suplex looking to be Taiyo's suplex of choice before hitting Funaki with his patented argentine neckbreaker. Funaki looked in bad shape, even bleeding from the face as Taiyo seemingly enjoyed this match up taunting Funaki before finally hitting his finisher, the Samoan Driver for the three. After the match, Kazuhiro went to celebrate with his buddy Taiyo, Taiyo fixated on the lifeless carcass of Funaki while TAKA got down and gave him a mouthful. What is TAKA's problem?

While Funaki is still unsure as to why he is disliked by TAKA and co, one man who knows exactly why he is hated is WWF Tough Enough winner Maven. Ever since he graduated the WWF Tough Enough competition, Maven has been certain that he has everything that it takes to hang with the best. However, just like Key showed him at WWF Vengeance, William Regal proved once more that Maven is no where near ready. Despite a strong start from the Tough Enough winner, it was going to take more than a few right hands and a dropkick to stop Regal. William quickly brought Maven down to size with a huge exploder suplex, Maven totally ignorant of what was to come. Regal first hit Maven with a half nelson suplex, followed by a side slam; next came the double underhook suplex; Regal brought everything and Maven could do nothing about it. Regal finished the job with the Regal Cutter, Regal picking up his third successive win on Heat, even if this weeks match was against a lacklustre opponent like Maven. You can be damn sure that Regal will be paying big attention to Rikishi’s match later on tonight!

We head backstage and get our second helping of Rikishi of the night as he has a word with the Coach. Rikishi said that he's been unsettled by the news that a growning number of people that watch this show don’t feel that Rikishi has what it takes to hold onto his European Championship. Rikishi begs to differ. Rikishi says Regal fought well last week and the fact of the matter is that William Regal is a top wrestler. If he wants a match for the title, then he’s just got to ask. Rikishi says he isn’t afraid of no one, whether their name is William Regal or otherwise! As for tonight, Rikishi promises that he is coming home with the gold!

And so it was time for our Main Event between the WWF European Champion Rikishi and Billy Kidman for the title. The announcers noted that Billy Kidman really seems to be taking to this new found troublemaking skill of his. Kidman went into this match at a high pace in the early goings, Kidman managing to dodge the initial shots from Rikishi but was not able to dodge a huge belly to belly suplex. Rikishi was simply too big for the Kidman, and despite much work off the rope, Kidman tried one too many high flying moves, nearly getting caught with a failed sunset flip on the big man. Kidman took Rikishi down with a flying clothesline from the second rope before going up top for the shooting star press, but Rikishi dodged the attack sending Kidman to the ground. Rikishi then hit the Savate kick on the Cruiserweight knocking the lights out of the former champion before finishing him off with the banzai drop for the three! Rikishi retains the title! The only question that remains now is when will Regal challenge Rikishi? Will it be next week? Who knows? We hope you enjoyed the show and hope you will join us again! Thank you and Good Night!

Match Results

Marc Mero def. Jeff Hardy to retain his WWF Cruiserweight Championship

Taiyo def. Funaki

William Regal def. Maven

Rikishi def. Billy Kidman to retain his WWF European Championship

Hardy is decent enough of a 'nothing' opponent for Mero. Glad he's continuing his reign, as he should for a while. A LONG while.

Nice little setup for the Kidman/Kish match. Trouble with the vending machine for Kish ? That's great .... good shit.

Funaki squashed ? Ugh. Maybe a three man beatdown, but just squashed ? BLEH .... Don't like it. Especially to tayio ... I'm just not liking him. TAKA is the only person that could get away with a squash in this thing. Funaki better get good revenge.

Keeping Regal in the eyes of the fans is good. He's going to be your next Euro Champ ........ damnit. Nice squash and well ... Maven can learn from it can't he ? heh

Another Kish segment ? shit. The only thing that should keep him on TV this long is his roast. His literal roast that is. It would take a good day to cook the fat turd. At least he's addressing the fact that he sucks. Now, to the main event where he proves it.

... and he does. It takes a miss from Kidman to give Kish the upperhand. Regal will own his ass for that Euro Title.

Good show buddy. Heat is owning joo all right now.

Good job this week man, lets get going with this thing...

-Unlike most, im actually digging the Val & Blackman team! For some reason i see them working together, though they wouldnt be a long term thing id imagine

-I am actually liking how your using X-Pac and Waterman as Vince's lackeys, but Bulldog? I just dont see it as realistic that in 2002, Bulldog is main eventing a PPV, with little to no build-up, challenging for the WWF Title. There is absolutely no way in HELL that Rock is losing the match at NWO, and Bulldog, being a broken down, drug abusing man that he was by this point, i just dont see it man, though we can blame Warrior's trapdoor for that one

-Im sure Dudleyz vs DX isnt your next big tag team feud, i shall continue to wait and pray that its the nWo!

-Im still loving every single minute of Test-Taker though man, im glad that its getting decent build up still, and Test seems to be getting over as a legitimate threat to the upper echelons of the WWF too, this can only mean good things in the future of Test!

-Daffney? Nope, im still not feeling her as a monster in the Women's division, i mean, she's from Atlanta <_<

-Sabu vs Key is also greatly interesting me, can Key keep ahols of his strao and his push?

-RVD vs Chavo? Great stuff! RVD vs Angle NEEDS to carry over to Wrestlemania, it should be a fantastic match-up, and i like the interaction between the two on the shows too!

-Fairly good main event to say it had Show and X-Pac in it, and again, Pac and Waterman continue to play great lackey roles to Vince. Rock is clearly still irate too, and i wont go off on Bulldog again this time, whether he was on this show or not, Great episode of RAW!

-Smackdown seemed a little on the short side this week unfortunately, though it didnt detract from the show quality itself of course!

-You NEED to push Crash Holly man! Quality, shame he gets jobbed here, to 'Meat' no less! <_<

-I cannot wait to see what match you have in store for us at No Way Out between Test and Taker, it HAS to be a great match, and im sure youll pull through eith a classic!

-Daffney again? Urgh. Its like a trade-up in feelings for you and Bob Holly <_<

-The Dudleyz going to the OVW show? Now THAT is intriguing my friend! I have a sneaking suspicion that DX wont show up there though! Dont ask me why!

-Kane-Austin will be reat when it finally happens, i like how Austin is really making Kane sweat for that confrontation though! Also, kudos on the classic smashed-car skit with Taker! ^_^

-Im still not buying into Bulldog though man, i dont see him as credible even after going over Show for me unfortunately

-Good, albeit short edition of Smackdown, it furthered feuds well!

And all im going to say on Heat is, too much Kish! <_< Keep up the good work man

Raw Preview

Scheduled to be broadcast on Monday, 4th February 2002 LIVE from the La Crosse Center, Wisconsin

And the Stipulations Are...

After a bundle of threats from the Undertaker, last week on Smackdown Test and Lance Storm took out security and a legal restraining order that states that if Undertaker comes within 50ft of either of them, they have the right to have him arrested and escorted from the building. But while Taker was retrained from attacking Storm and Test, it didn't stop Taker damaging Test's car, Taker going all kinds of crazy on Test's brand new Mercedes Benz. With one week left before No Way Out, what will be going through Test's mind. Most of all, what stipulations will he chose for the PPV?

Another man to make an impact last week on Smackdown was the "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith defeating the Big Show in the Smackdown Main Event. Tonight, Smith has been booked to go 1-on-1 with the WWF Champion, The Rock in a non-title match. With less than a week before the PPV, Smith surely is aware that this match could really have a great effect on the Main Event and No Way Out knowing that a win over The Rock could give them a strong advantage in the running to the PPV. Does Smith have what it takes or will the Bulldog finally begin to display his weakness?

Last week on Smackdown, the Dudley Boyz told the WWF fans that later in the week, they would be going to OVW to confront one of the greatest teams in WWF history, Degeneration X. Tune into RAW tonight to find out what went down at the OVW show...

One of the most aggressive wrestlers in the WWF at present is the WWF's women's wrestler Daffney Unger who last week beat the living hell out of Stacy Keilber on Smackdown. Tonight, both Stacy and Terri, who Unger destroyed on RAW, team up to face Daffney in a handicap match. Can the two divas get some sort of revenge against the angry Unger or will Unger show her dominance once more on this episode of RAW?

With less than a week tiil No Way Out, Lance Storm takes some time out on RAW to prepare for his match against when he goes 1 on 1 with WWF Superstar Val Venis. Also in action is the Number One Contender for the WWF Hardcore Championship, the suicidal, homocidal, genocidal death defying Sabu who faces non-other than the Olympic Gold Medallist Kurt Angle. One has to wonder, even with Sabu's extreme talent, that he really will be up against it tonight and with Key and Charles Wright undoubtedly paying much attention to this match up, you can be sure this match up with be off the hook!

Paul Heyman has also guaranteed that Kane will be at the Le Crosse Center here tonight! Tune into RAW to find out hat goes down, only on TNN!

Scheduled Matches

Lance Storm vs. Val Venis

Daffney vs. Terri and Stacy Keibler

Kurt Angle vs. Sabu

WWF RAW

Broadcast on Monday, 4th February 2002 LIVE from the La Crosse Center, Wisconsin

THREE STAGES OF HELL

RAW delivered an action packed night of sports entertainment as we delved into the dark hearts of many of the WWF Superstars. The night kicked off with the Co-Owner of the WWF Vince McMahon coming to the ring with his posse of the British Bulldog, Ron Waterman and X-Pac. Vince McMahon said that last week on Smackdown, Vince made a promise by the end of No Way Out, Vince McMahon would be once again the WWF Champion, a promise that Vince intends to follow through with; and Vince surely has some room for confidence, especially with the British Bulldog on his side at No Way Out. Bulldog admitted that when he returned to the WWF no less than a month ago, he was concerned that his ring rust had finally gotten the better of him but thanks to Mr. McMahon, the British Bulldog is nearly back to his best. Smith promises that, after all Vince has done for him, to pay him back at No Way Out and once again but the WWF Championship around the waist of the most deserving man in Sports Entertainment. The British Bulldog warns all the doubters to watch him in action tonight as he takes apart The Rock, limb from limb in a non-title match. Strong words from the man from Manchester, England!

Our opening match of the night pitched the Psychotic Assassin Daffney Unger against Terri and Stacy Keibler in a handicap match. Stacy and Terri came out first to a huge ovation from the WWF fans but the same could not be said for Unger. Unger made short work of the two WWF Divas taking Terri down with a huge slap before chucking some huge right hands at Stacy, Unger unlucky to not get the pin with in seconds of the match after she made a pinning attempt on Stacy taking her down with a hurricanranna after an irish whip but Terri made the save. Unger didn’t take long to dispose of the tiny woman, sending her to the outside before taking Stacy down with an implant DDT. Unger then finished off her nights work climbing up top to hit the Ungersault (a Moonsault) on Stacy for the 3. After the match, Daffney chucked Stacy out of the ring before posing the fans, despite the excessive booing. Daffney Unger has certainly staked her claim for a WWF Women’s Championship shot!

Next up was WWF Olympic Gold Medallist and former 2 time WWF Champion Kurt Angle who saw action against the ECW alumnus, Sabu. Angle has been having run ins with Rob Van Dam over the past week and tonight’s exercise was to just show Rob Van Dam what people like Kurt exactly do to guys like him; a proposition that had the full blessing of Charles Wright and WWF Hardcore Champion Key. But Sabu wasn’t as easy as Angle thought….Angle started off strong in the early goings taking Sabu with solid amateur wrestling skills, Angle’s aim to get on top of Sabu and keep him on the ground, Angle not taking long to grasp hold of Sabu’s ankle; luckily for Sabu the rope was not far and Sabu grabbed hold of it as quick as he could, not allowing Angle to take control that easy. Angle, who got continuously frustrated managed to score a hatrick of german suplexes but Sabu somehow managed to kick out of the pinning attempt. Angle continued to apply pressure but sometimes, too much domination can lead you up the creak and that is exactly what happened, Sabu ducking a clothesline attempt before using the middle rope to drive Angle into the mat with a Tornado DDT. Sabu decided to go up top and in search for that finishing move but WWF Hardcore Champion KEY stopped any chance of that happening hitting Sabu with a cutter off the top rope while Charles Wright distracted the referee. Angle looked to monopolise on the interference covering Sabu but somehow, he managed to kick out. Angle went once more for the Angle Lock but Sabu used his leg strength to counter the hold into a roll up, grabbing hold of the tights for the win. After the match, an upset Angle teamed up with Key and Wright to assault Sabu only for Rob Van Dam to come down and clear the ring with a steal chair. Van Dam and Sabu look to have formed an alliance…What will come of this on Smackdown?

Our next entrants were none other than Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley who seemed very frustrated from the get go. Ever since the Royal Rumble, many fans have speculated the return of DX, ever excited to see what their antics will be like when they return to WWF TV. However, the same could not be said for the Dudley Boyz who feel that DX are nothing but has-beens who no longer have a place in this business. Last Friday, the WWF Tag Team Champions visited OVW to await the arrival of DX but they never showed and Bubba for one couldn’t believe that DX were such cowards. Bubba just hopes that DX do not treat No Way Out in the same fashion that they treated OVW because Bubba Ray for one is so very excited to meet them. “And if DX aren’t down with that, we’ve got two words for ya!!!!! SUCK IT!”

Next to the ring were Paul Heyman and the Big Red Monster Kane. Paul Heyman said that while he was upset that Stone Cold had previously snubbed his and Kane’s challenge for the Rattlesnake to face up to Kane at No Way Out, Paul Heyman has a very special surprise for them tonight. Heyman then introduces Stone Cold to the ring and out comes a Stone Cold body double. The man gets in the ring and Heyman acts politely shaking his hand and telling how much of an honour it is for him to be in the same ring as the Rattlesnake, the fans remaining totally unimpressed. Heyman talks about Stone Cold’s legacy and how big an opportunity it is for Kane to fight him and the fake Stone Cold talks about how in fact Austin should be thanking Paul Heyman; after all, Paul Heyman made Stone Cold and he owes him big. Heyman says that he doesn’t like to think that people feel they owe him but what the hell, he accepts Austin’s comments. After all Paul Heyman did make…*GLASS SHATTERS* STONE COLD IS HERE! Austin makes his way to the ring and goes straight at it with Kane as Heyman and the fake Austin run for cover. Austin beats Kane down with punches and kicks before sending Kane into the ropes wanting to finish him with the Stunner but Kane grabs hold of the ropes quickly moving to the outside, Kane and Heyman deciding to high tail it. The same could not be said about the fake Stone Cold who decides to get in his face when Austin starts calling for the beers. The Fake Stone Cold is protesting that the real Austin is drinking his beers, snatching open the half can of beer. Austin, very pissed, hits the fake Stone Cold with a Stunner before finally being allowed to get on with his celebrations. Austin is back!

After an already entertaining night of wrestling came Lance Storm is set to take on Edge at No Way Out in just 6 days. Storm’s opponent tonight was none-other than Val Venis who has been something of an odd job man since returning to the WWF a couple of months ago. Before the match started, Edge made his way to the ring to sit in on the commentary Edge adding his Edge-style humour throughout the match up. Despite Val’s reputation, Venis gave Storm a very tough outing, having solid possession in parts of the match. Unfortunately for Val, it was not enough, Venis taking too long to hit the money shot allowing Lance to get move out of the way before connecting with his own finisher, the Super kick, for the win. After the match, Edge got to his feet and clapped for Lance Storm but Lance was less than happy to see him. Will there be anymore between these two before we get to No Way Out?

After all that has gone on over the past few weeks, you can hardly blame The Rock for wanting to get on the mic this week on RAW, The Rock less than happy about the situation that is set for No Way Out. But despite all the obstacles, all the tests ahead of him, The Rock is damn sure that he is going to walk out of No Way Out as the WWF Champion. But, The Rock does have one question; The Rock wants to know whether Jerry Lawler actually has any reason for being in this company. The Rock says that Jerry Lawler talked about fair play and exciting television when he joined the company but all The Rock sees is Jerry Lawler turning a blind eye to everything that Vince McMahon does. The Rock challenges Jerry Lawler to finally get off his royal ass and stand up and be counted or get the hell out Professional Wrestling. Strong words from The Rock.

It was then time for the Main Event and it was between The Rock and The British Bulldog, two of the three men that would be going at No Way Out for the WWF Championship. Bulldog and The Rock both traded punches in the early goings but neither man could gain a clear advantage, both men showing they were up to the challenge. However, it was the Bulldog who gained the first advantage after The Rock was distracted by the arrival of Vince McMahon, Bulldog then attacking from behind. Bulldog brought everything he had to The Rock, nearly stealing the win after a delayed vertical suplex but The Rock managed to the get the shoulder up. The Rock began to turn the game, using his strength to power out of a sleeper before taking Bulldog down with right hands and then a spinebuster. Vince McMahon tried to get in the match calling for the referee but the WWF Champion quickly disposed of Vince with a single right hand before hitting Bulldog with a DDT. The Rock wanted this match over! He ripped off his arm support and through it to the crowd! THE PEOPLE’S ELBOW! The Rock then went for the cover but Vince McMahon pulled the referee out of the ring. But look at The Rock’s stare! The Rock is furious with Vince. The Rock dived out of the ring and began in hot pursuit of the co-owner but Vince got into the ring and Bulldog came to his aid. Bulldog hit the running powerslam on the WWF Champion. Vince quickly got out of the ring and threw the referee back in to huge amount of boos the referee having no choice but to count the three and award the victory to the British Bulldog! After the match, Vince McMahon raised the arm of the Bulldog, Vince grinning from ear to ear. Vince McMahon’s prospects of becoming WWF Champion once again have gone right up!

After the ring had been cleared, Test made his way down to the ring, surrounded by security, ready to make his big announcement regarding the stipulations of the match he would be wrestling in just six days time against The Undertaker. Test said that over the past few weeks, he had been racking his brain trying to come up with a match suitable for The Undertaker. Test he went from every single match from a normal singles contest to a god damn Hell in a Cell match but he said this match was more important than making the 1,2,3 in the ring and he certainly wasn’t going to allow The Undertaker to play his old party tricks in a steel structure anytime soon. Test said he’s seen the tapes of Foley and quite frankly, that wasn’t for him. With all that in mind, Test said that at No Way Out, Test and The Undertaker would be facing each other in a THREE STAGES OF HELL match. Fall One: A Singles Match. Fall Two: A Street Fight! Test’s head dropped for a second. Test then continued talking, remarking that if no clear winner has been decided by the end of the second fall: the third fall would then be an AMBULANCE MATCH. Test promised that come the end of No Way Out, the Taker may still be the Deadman, but he sure as hell won’t be walking! THE UNDERTAKER’S music then hit the arena and the crowd went nuts. The Undertaker came down to the ring, court order or no court order and went straight for Test but the security men managed to slow Taker down. Test quickly left the ring and made his way up the ramp as the security tried to restrain The Undertaker. The Undertaker dropped the first with a big boot, before tossing the second out and third out of the ring. Taker then hit another guy with a big boot before choke slamming the rest. Taker had lost it. The show ended with Test and Taker staring at each other, Test hopefully realising how lucky he is to be walking out of RAW in one piece.

AWESOME RAW!!

I marked out for the alliance of RVD and Sabu. They have so much history, and now they coincidently help each other out.

Great to finally see Stone Cold stand up to Kane, and whoop some serious ass. Austin is the man, and he vs Kane will be electric when it happens.

And finally.....2 out of 3 falls! AWESOME!! Most people save it for technical wrestlers, but this will be brutal and bloody. Taker will go over I believe, but Test will come out looking strong, and should then take the IC Title.

Overall, this is an awesome diary man. keep it up, and cant wait for No Way Out.

WWF Smackdown! Preview

Broadcast on the 7th of February 2002 from the Resch Center, Green Bay, Wisconsin

WWF Smackdown comes to you directly from Green Bay Wisconsin and we have an action packed line up for you tonight!!

Earlier this week on RAW, Test announced that at No Way Out, he would face the Undertaker in a 3-Stages of Hell Match. This match would comprise of three falls; the first, a Singles match; the second, a Street Fight; and if the match required a third and final fall, the two men would take each other on in an Ambulance Match. While Test seemed suprisingly cheerful about the match at No Way Out, the Undertaker seemed less and attempted to attack Test despite the restraining order imposed. Although Test's security attempted to restrain the Deadman, Taker destroyed everyone in his path and Test had no other option than to leave the arena, leaving the Undertaker behind. Taker so badly wants Test now he can taste it but how does Test feel? The Undertaker will be in action tonight, Taker set to take one of the WWF's newest recruits, Lance Storm, a close personal friend of Test, who in 3 days takes on former Intercontinental Champion Edge. Test on the other hand has demanded some air time tonight to get somethings of his chest.

Also in action tonight, in the Smackdown Main Event is the WWF Champion, The Rock who is set to take on the Co-Owner of the WWF Mr. McMahon in a Non-Title Match up. Vince McMahon has been quoted on saying that he intends add to the earlier work of the British Bulldog who last Monday on RAW beat the WWF Champion to take team McMahon 2-0 over The Rock as they enter No Way Out to compete for the WWF Championship. Can Vince pull off an amazing victory here tonight?

The WWF Hardcore Champion Key will also be in action tonight when he takes on the man who faces Kurt Angle in three days, Rob Van Dam. While neither Angle or Key have officially announced it, one can be sure that both men know exactly what is at stake tonight and no one would be suprised to see the two men teaming up again against Van Dam. Will Sabu repay the favour to Van Dam if such thing happens? Tune in to find out.

Trish Stratus will also be in action tonight as she defends her WWF Womens Championship against the former ECW Alumnus, Jazz. The current scoop through the grapevine is that Daffney Unger is not happy and has already planned to meet up with Jerry Lawler later tonight. Will there be a new WWF Womens Champion crowned tonight and if so, will their next opponent be Daffney Unger? Daffney will certainly make a case of it!

In addition, tonight also marks the in ring return of Stone Cold Steve Austin as he immediately gets a shot at WWF Championship Gold in the form of the WWF Intercontinental Championship, currently held by Shawn Stasiak. It has not been a hidden fact that over the past few months, Stone Cold has been somewhat of an object of hate for Paul Heyman and his latest investment, the Big Red Monster. With the title on the line, will Stone Cold be able to out an amazing return and what will Kane and Heyman's reaction be to Stone Cold having a title match so soon?

The Dudley Boyz will also be in action tonight....

Tune into WWF Smackdown! Only on UPN

Awesome RAW.

I love what you are doing with Test. Test is like an all-time favourite wrestler of mine so this is so cool to see him pushed against The Undertaker in the 2nd feud of the WWF (behind The Rock vs. Vince) The 3 Stages of Hell is a good choice as a feud ender, and hopefully you will usher in the new era of WWE quickly and give Test a huge victory.

The Dudleys vs. D-X is a really strong idea. I'm not quite sure who will make up D-X but having The Dudleys as the immediate opponents gives them cred straight away.

RVD & Sabu = *thumbs up* Good decision.

Daffney scares me.

Keep up the good work.

WWF Smackdown!

Broadcast on the 7th of February 2002 from the Resch Center, Green Bay, Wisconsin

Will the Title Return?

With No Way Out around the corner, Smackdown kicked off in a tense fashion as Test alone came down to the ring to kick the night off. Test said that while it wasn’t his original intention to be on the show, Test said that he felt it was necessary after The Undertaker’s cowardly actions earlier in the week. Test requested that the footage be shown:

Test was standing in the ring after delivering the stipulations to his match against the Undertaker at No Way Out when THE UNDERTAKER’S music hit the arena and the crowd went nuts. The show ended with Test and Taker staring at each other.

Test shook his head in the middle of the ring branding the Undertaker nothing but an animal. Test said he understood that Taker had a problem with him but what the hell did Little Jimmy, part time security man, part time loving father ever do to deserve that? Test said that at No Way Out, it was now his duty to put right Taker’s wrong because it seems that the Big Dog needs to be put to down. The Undertaker’s music then hit the arena and Taker quickly appeared at the top of the ramp, the crowd hugely behind the Deadman. Taker started off by commenting that it is a known fact that he’s been in this company for over a decade and that in his whole career, Test’s comments had to be the biggest load of crap that he has ever heard. Taker adds that it doesn’t matter who you are or whatever you do, when you step into the big dog’s yard, you’re gonna get bit. Taker says that ever since Test started this back before Vengeance, Test has been hiding behind whatever he could to keep his distance from the Deadman. But come No Way Out this Sunday, Test has no place left to run, no place left to hide and Test is gonna pay and there isn’t a damn thing Test can do about it! Test looks to have bitten off more than he can chew here! Taker will be in action later tonight!

Our first match of the night pits the WWF Tag Team Champions, Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley against a rookie tag team who are simply announced as Randy and Andy. The Dudley Boyz really make short work of these two wrestlers, Bubba and D-Von slapping around the two rookies before Bubba eliminated Randy from the match on the outside, sending him into the steel steps before hitting the 3D on Andy for the three. After the match, Bubba Ray and D-Von taunt the crowd by doing the DX pose in the centre of the ring. And if you aren’t down with that, we’ve got TWO WORDS FOR YA! SUCK IT!

The next match of the night pitted Rob Van Dam against an opponent who was by now all too familiar to him, the WWF Hardcore Champion Key. Unlike the majority of their previous encounters, this match was match was a single match, a stipulation that did some to work to Van Dam’s advantage in the early going, Van Dam lucky not to get the three from a split legged moonsault. However, Key later found himself in a fortunate position after Van Dam accidentally took the referee down when Key managed to get out of the way of a cross body. While Van Dam was concerned with the referee, Charles Wright quickly passed Key his metal briefcase, who used it against the weapon against the former ECW alumnus. Key awoke the referee before taking RVD down with the Face Eraser but to the shock of the audience, it wasn’t enough for the three! Key decided it would be a good idea to go up top and go for a moonsault but Van Dam dodged the bullet and both men were down before. Van Dam nearly stole the win moments later getting his arm over Key but Key managed to get the shoulder up with milliseconds remaining. Both men started to get back to their feet and trade punches, the match really looking like it could either way before Kurt Angle made his way down to the ring taking out Rob Van Dam with a steel chair. The referee quickly called the bell, the referee awarding Van Dam the match despite the unprecedented interference from Angle. Key and Wright were furious with Angle, Key looking like he was ready to take Angle’s head off but Sabu came to the ring before anything could happen. Sabu went ape in the ring, throwing a chair into the face of Angle before immediately going for Key taking him down with a huge shot. Sabu let go on Angle sending fist after fist before Angle broke it up Angle not happy about being attacked. Angle quickly went for the Angle Slam only to be countered by Sabu somehow managing to drop before hitting Angle with his springboard tornado DDT. Sabu went back for Key but Key wanted no more, quickly escaping with Wright before Sabu could do any more damage! Can Sabu become the WWF Hardcore Champion at No Way Out?

The Rock continues to lay it on to Jerry Lawler this week on Smackdown, The Rock bumping into the King as he was heading back to his office. The Rock said he was happy to see Lawler, but Lawler told him was too busy to get into a conversation about his match. Lawler tried to walk off but The Rock grabbed hold of him, taking his glasses off, The Rock obviously wanting to be blunt with Lawler. The Rock told him he didn’t want to give him a lecture but simply put – he is the Co-Owner of the WWF. It’s time to start acting like he’s the Co-Owner of the WWF! The Rock went off, Lawler not looking happy about the whole pep talk.

Next up was round three of the WWF Women’s Title Saga between the champion Trish and the main challenger Jazz. Just like in previous weeks, both women went into the match in a high pace, Jazz looking to be the more dominant of the two divas, quickly introducing Trish to the floor with her devastating facebuster. Jazz obviously had a chip on her shoulder and wanted to take it out on the blond. However, Jazz should have paid more attention to the new woman on the block, Daffney Unger, Daffney breaking up the match before it even got started attacking both Trish and Jazz with a steel chair. Unger quickly finished the job taking down Trish with her jumping DDT before hitting Jazz was the Ungersault, Daffney making her name known once again. Is Daffney Unger the most dominant woman in the WWF?

One person who is certainly looking to dominate the WWF is Stone Cold Steve Austin, Austin deciding to take a bit of time out to talk to The Coach after making his return earlier in the week on RAW. Austin said that he was glad to be back where he belongs once again and that he only wished it were sooner. Austin says that ever since the Royal Rumble, he’s had to sit at home nursing his stupid little knee injury as Paul Heyman has been posing around the ring, running his mouth about how Kane is the meanest S.O.B. in the World Wrestling Federation. Hell in Heyman’s eyes, Kane could take down an entire army with his two bare hands and still have time for lunch. But Austin says he’s feeling slightly sceptical and that come No Way Out, Monster or No Monster, Heyman or no Heyman, Stone Cold is going to open a can of whoop ass on the Big Red Machine and that’s all he’s got to say about that. As for tonight, Stone Cold has been booked to 1 on 1 against the WWF Intercontinental Champion, Shawn Stasiak.Austin started laughing to the Coach’s surprise, Austin quickly commenting that he couldn’t believe that the Intercontinental Title had been degraded so quickly to someone so pathetic! “The man kept running into walls for the love of God!” Either way, Stone Cold felt said that if he gets a chance to add some more Gold to his collection, then he says Oh Hell Yeah! Stone Cold is Next!

Shawn Stasiak looked to have taken great exception to what Austin said in the next, Stasiak getting into the ring and slapping Austin across the face. Austin laughed back in his face but didn’t laugh so much at the second on. Austin started the match off with a huge beat down, Austin throwing a load of punches Stasiak’s way before stomping a mud hole in him in the corner of the ring. Austin tried to finish off the match there and then quickly going for the Stunner but Stasiak countered the mood and quickly head out of the ring, Stasiak telling everyone it was over. Austin however didn’t agree and went straight after Stasiak sending him hard into the surrounds, welcoming Stasiak to the audience. Stasiak gained the advantage after countering a whip into the steel steps, sending in himself. Stasiak took Austin back to the ring and began with some cheap moves choking away at Austin before just missing out on the three after a pump handle slam. Stasiak couldn’t believe it! Stasiak went for the WWF Intercontinental Title belt but the referee tried to stop him but Stasiak broke through only to be stopped by a spine buster by Austin! Austin got back to his feet mouthing off to the crowd before the mood changed as Kane made his way to the ring, Heyman following behind. Both men proceeded to attempt to enter the ring, the referee the only line standing in the way of three angry men. Stasiak quickly took his opportunity and blindsided Austin with a shot with the title belt to the back of the head before the referee jumping back into action, as Stasiak quickly covered Austin for the three. The ref had no clue what happened! Stasiak quickly grabbed his belt and left the arena as Kane and Heyman stood their watching Austin as he held the back of his head missing out on a big opportunity. Can Austin take on both Heyman and Kane at No Way Out?

Backstage, Test was chatting to Lance Storm. Test wished Storm the best of luck but told him that he had to head off as he had another engagement. Storm wasn’t happy that Test was leaving him to deal with Taker all by himself but Test had already ensured that Edge couldn’t interfere in the match tonight. Test told him he had utter faith in Storm and that he could easily beat Taker! Lance Storm didn’t look so convinced….

When the match came around, one might have sympathised with Storm’s concerns as Taker began to dominate the Canadian Wrestler in the early goings, Storm getting beaten in both corners before being planted in the middle of the ring with a running DDT. The Undertaker went for all of his spots, hitting the Old School early on in the match up, Taker unlucky not to pick up the win after that match. Storm however picked up the fact that Taker had a dodgy knee and began to get to work on it, delivering a chop block to the back whenever he could. Storm finally managed to get Taker down to he knees to enable him to deliver the shining wizard, many fans feeling that Storm was unlucky not to get the three. Storm immediately went for the finish and quickly locked in the Boston Crab, but Taker’s strength and will power enabled him to get to the bottom ropes. Storm continued to fight on but it was evident Taker started to feel a second wind, Taker eventually getting back to his feet dropping Storm with some right hands before taking Storm to the mat with a sidewalk slam before finishing the job with the dreaded chokeslam of doom for the three. The Undertaker’s celebrations were however short lived as the man, who, 10 minutes ago, told Storm he was leaving the arena returned to the ring to attack The Undertaker from behind. Test delivered a hard beat down to the Deadman choking him out in the corner with his boot. Test wanted to end this here and now but Taker had different intentions, countering the pump handle slam before dropping Test with the second chokeslam of the night! But was Taker gonna leave it there? Like hell he was. Taker sent a boot to the face of Storm before grabbing hold of Test one more time and hitting the Canadian with the TOMBSTONE, the crowd going ballistic! It looks like The Undertaker has the momentum! Can he take it through to No Way Out?

Backstage we join Vince McMahon who is with his group of lackeys, Ron Waterman, X-Pac and the newest member, the British Bulldog. Vince McMahon says that tonight is crucial in the result of No Way Out. Why? Because tonight is the night where winners take that momentum and losers panic and Vince hates losers! Waterman tells Vince that he and Pac have got his back but Vince declines. Vince tells X-Pac and Waterman that the two of them have the night off because just like at No Way Out, both him and the British Bulldog are going to dominate The Rock and bring that WWF Championship gold back to camp McMahon.

The Main Event of Smackdown between Vince and The Rock took a similar shape to the match at the Royal Rumble, The Rock starting off at a pace too high for Vince to match, The Rock nearly ending the match with a belly to belly suplex. However, Bulldog quickly became the difference maker distracting both The Rock and the referee’s allowing Vince to hit the low blow and gain some advantage in the match. Vince beat away on The Rock using mostly basic brawling work to keep his advantage but he couldn’t find the right combination. As the match progressed, Vince’s advantage looked less and less likely to stay on top, The Rock eventually breaking out of a sleeper and dropping Vince with a back body which The Rock followed with a belly to belly suplex. Bulldog quickly dived into the ring shooting past the referee to try Vince, The Rock moving out of the way of the Bulldog’s clothesline attempt before chucking him out of the ring before setting up Vince for the People’s elbow dropping him with a spinebuster. The Rock wanted to end this match right here right now, but British Bulldog had different ideas, grabbing hold of The Rock’s WWF Championship before taking The Rock down mid move. The referee quickly moved for the disqualification but after what Bulldog and Vince did to The Rock next, it was doubtful that the Great One would be celebrating! Waterman and X-Pac quickly made their way to the ring and both they and Bulldog laid waste to the Champion, X-Pac and Waterman holding The Rock up as Bulldog dropped The Rock for a second time with a title shot. Vince got back to his feet acting all cocky slapping away at the People’s Champion before mockingly making the pin fall, X-Pac counting for the three. However, what happened next wouldn’t have pleased Vince McMahon; as Vince celebrated in the ring with his two lackeys, the British Bulldog went back for the WWF Championship belt that earlier he used as a weapon, Bulldog holding it in front of him glaring down with admiration. The British Bulldog could be WWF Champion in just 3 days! Will Vince McMahon be able to trust the Smith? Find out in three days!

THE FINALISED LINE UP FOR NO WAY OUT 2002

THREE STAGES OF HELL MATCH

Test vs. The Undertaker

(The First Fall - Singles Match; The Second Fall - Street Fight; The Third Fall - Ambulance Match)

I think Test deserves this win. He would hurt him more to Main Event a PPV and then lose out to The Undertaker. Hopefully, Test will win to end the feud and move onto the IC belt.

WWF CHAMPIONSHIP 2-ON-1 HANDICAP MATCH

The Rock © vs. Vince McMahon & The British Bulldog

I want The Rock to face The Undertaker at WM so therefore the face comes through this against all odds match.

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Kane (w/Paul Heyman)

Kane is a monster! I'm a huge Kane mark as well so hopefully he gets a chance to shine in this diary.

Kurt Angle vs. Rob Van Dam

I guess that RVD should take this. This feud isn't over and I will be disappointed if you finish it here. RVD deserves the early win so that Kurt can take the war.

WWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Key (w/Charles Wright) © vs. Sabu

Key deserves to retain. Sabu will take the belt evenutally but just not yet... please.

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWF WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP

Trish Stratus © vs. Jazz vs. Daffney Unger

Daffney has been built up to deserve the belt. It doesn't make sense for her not to take it.

Edge vs. Lance Storm

Because let's be serious for moment... Lance Storm is just better.

PLUS THE RETURN OF DX!!

WWF HEAT MAIN EVENT

Funaki vs. TAKA Michinoku

Funaki needs to win this. TAKA has been all over him for a while. Funaki needs a nice win to end things.

THREE STAGES OF HELL MATCH

Test vs. The Undertaker

I wish I could go with Test here, but the Taker/Rock match is going to happen no matter what. Test will have one fuck of a showing though, and it will propel him smack dab at the top of the IC scene. This is a great deal for him, and all he has to do is look strong. He will, but Taker goes on to march towards the Rock.

WWF CHAMPIONSHIP 2-ON-1 HANDICAP MATCH

The Rock © vs. Vince McMahon & The British Bulldog

See above. The Taker/Rock match is going to happen. McMahon screws it up for himself and Bulldog.

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Kane (w/Paul Heyman)

I know that Kane is a freakin train and I really like him in this diary, but damn. Austin kidn of 'has' to win this one. I can't see Kane going over him despite how he's been booked. Perhaps a little Heyman screw up, or turn ?

Kurt Angle vs. Rob Van Dam

I see a double countout or DQ here. Angle is going to go over in this, but RVD losing here would kill the heat of this rivalry. I see things being left unfinished.

WWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Key (w/Charles Wright) © vs. Sabu

Key is a no brainer here. Sabu puts up a good fight, but Key is going to hold the Hardcore Title for a while.

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWF WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP

Trish Stratus © vs. Jazz vs. Daffney Unger

You have to give her the belt. I could see her costing Trish the match and giving Jazz the belt, BUT where do you go from there ? Exactly, Daff wins.

Edge vs. Lance Storm

Edge sucks. That's all.

PLUS THE RETURN OF DX!!

WWF HEAT MAIN EVENT

Funaki vs. TAKA Michinoku

Funaki will take the war now that he's finally got TAKA. No more hiding and numbers. Sho reigns !

THREE STAGES OF HELL MATCH

Test vs. The Undertaker

Taker will walk away with this. Test will however nearly beat him getting a fall making it 2-1 to Taker. However i'd be good if Test wins but Rock/Taker is gonna happen as i don't just see Test/Rock doing great at Wrastlemania

WWF CHAMPIONSHIP 2-ON-1 HANDICAP MATCH

The Rock © vs. Vince McMahon & The British Bulldog

The Taker/Rock match is going to happen so that's why Rock wins this. McMahon messes up big time for the BB and himself

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Kane (w/Paul Heyman)

I feel Kane will just win this thanks to Heyman screwing Stone Cold. I like Kane to win but i can also see Austin winning. 50/50 here for me so i'll go with Kane.

Kurt Angle vs. Rob Van Dam

Double countout, Double DQ it's ending with a draw no matter what. Keep things going and blow the feud at Wrestlemania with a gimmick match.

WWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Key (w/Charles Wright) © vs. Sabu

Has to be Key. He'll win the battle this time but Sabu will eventually get the gold!!

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWF WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP

Trish Stratus © vs. Jazz vs. Daffney Unger

Daffney for the fact the way you've built her up. If she doesn't win than i can see her being screwed and winning the belt at Mania. But Daffney wins here tonight

Edge vs. Lance Storm

I'll be different and go with Edge. Lance is better but i think Edge somehow pulls it out.

PLUS THE RETURN OF DX!!

WWF HEAT MAIN EVENT

Funaki vs. TAKA Michinoku

Funaki... for the reasons A) It's Funaki and B) I can see this feud continuing slowly.

THREE STAGES OF HELL MATCH

Test vs. The Undertaker

(The First Fall - Singles Match; The Second Fall - Street Fight; The Third Fall - Ambulance Match)

-He's gotta look strong going into Mania, but Test should lose valiantly, keeping him looking strong as well

WWF CHAMPIONSHIP 2-ON-1 HANDICAP MATCH

The Rock © vs. Vince McMahon & The British Bulldog

-Plain and simple, i refuse to see Taker vs Vince or Taker vs Bulldog in the main event of Wrestlemania

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Kane (w/Paul Heyman)

-This match shouldnt be happening until Wrestlemania, so Kane has to win this one to have the rematch at 'Mania, thats how i see it anyway

Kurt Angle vs. Rob Van Dam

-This is a pick 'em, so its just random

WWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Key (w/Charles Wright) © vs. Sabu

-Key scrapes through as champion, but RVD gets involved, and then we see RVD challenging for the belt at Mania

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWF WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP

Trish Stratus © vs. Jazz vs. Daffney Unger

-If Daffney wins i riot <_<

Edge vs. Lance Storm

-Storm seems to be starting a push (hopefully!) so him going over Edge going into Mania just makes sense

PLUS THE RETURN OF DX!!

WWF HEAT MAIN EVENT

Funaki vs. TAKA Michinoku

-Who is meant to care about this match? <_<

Great stuff so far man, cant wait for No Way Out!

THE FINALISED LINE UP FOR NO WAY OUT 2002

THREE STAGES OF HELL MATCH

Test vs. The Undertaker

(The First Fall - Singles Match; The Second Fall - Street Fight; The Third Fall - Ambulance Match)

Its been a great feud, and Im glad to see Test finally being used properly. In 2001, Test was being groomed into a main event player, no doubt about it. He will look strong, but Taker will win it ultimately. I see Test winning the street fight, so he looks like a bad ass.

WWF CHAMPIONSHIP 2-ON-1 HANDICAP MATCH

The Rock © vs. Vince McMahon & The British Bulldog

Rock vs Taker will be your Mania main event, so despite every underhanded tactic, The Rock will defy the odds and walk out with the belt still around his People's Waist!

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Kane (w/Paul Heyman)

I see Kane winning this, with the help of Paul Heyman. This could lead to a gimmick rematch at Mania, which would rule. Austin will give Kane a real beating though, but Heyman will ensure his client walks out with the victory.

Kurt Angle vs. Rob Van Dam

I see this being a draw. Both men will be made to look strong, and a rematch will ensue at Mania, which will be a classic. Please use RVD correctly. He was so popular in 2001, still is, but back then, when he first came to the WWF, he could of really been a major player.

WWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Key (w/Charles Wright) © vs. Sabu

Sabu doesnt need the belt for people to know he is hardcore. And Key is fast becomming a dominant champion, and adding Sabu's name to the list will make him seem even more unbeatable.

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWF WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP

Trish Stratus © vs. Jazz vs. Daffney Unger

I see Trish pinning Jazz, which takes her out of the equation, which leaves Daffney to take the belt from Trish at Wrestlemania.

Edge vs. Lance Storm

I think Edge will take it. he came off a big defeat to Stasiak last month, and needs a PPV win to regain his momentum. Storm would be great to push, but Edge is more established, and needs to look good heading to Wrestlemania.

PLUS THE RETURN OF DX!!

Could be good, but Im never too keen on DX returns in diaries. They are all the same. But with your writing, and the build up so far, this could turn out to be awesome. I hope so.

WWF HEAT MAIN EVENT

Funaki vs. TAKA Michinoku

Not really too interested, but Taka is the better wrestler. And should be made to look like it.

THE FINALISED LINE UP FOR NO WAY OUT 2002

THREE STAGES OF HELL MATCH

Test vs. The Undertaker

(The First Fall - Singles Match; The Second Fall - Street Fight; The Third Fall - Ambulance Match)

I want The Undertaker to win. Personal preference, really. I like Test, but I don't think he's the guy to put over, especially with Taker.

WWF CHAMPIONSHIP 2-ON-1 HANDICAP MATCH

The Rock © vs. Vince McMahon & The British Bulldog

Although it's probably better to have a face and heel go over in the top two matches, I'll take a wild stab in the dark and say that The Rock OVERCOMES THE ODDS~~!!!

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Kane (w/Paul Heyman)

I like Austin, but pushed right, Kane can do big things. Austin doesn't need a win here.

Kurt Angle vs. Rob Van Dam

The pattern here is personal preference, so I'll say RVD.

WWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Key (w/Charles Wright) © vs. Sabu

I'll be honest - I haven't read far back enough to find out who Key is, yet he seems to be one of the more noticable names on the roster. So I'll go for him.

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWF WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP

Trish Stratus © vs. Jazz vs. Daffney Unger

Ahh, Daffney, how I love you. I think at least one title should change hands, and Daffney is the love of my life. So I give the nod to the screamer.

Edge vs. Lance Storm

Let's get some Storm love. The numbers suggest a Storm victory.

PLUS THE RETURN OF DX!!

WWF HEAT MAIN EVENT

Funaki vs. TAKA Michinoku

I'll shoot for Funaki, not because I like him more, just because it seems to be the best payoff, all things considered.

THREE STAGES OF HELL MATCH

Test vs. The Undertaker

(The First Fall - Singles Match; The Second Fall - Street Fight; The Third Fall - Ambulance Match)

Test has had a good run, but I can't see him beating Taker here. This match will allow people to start taking Test seriously. I don't care if he got runner-up in the Rumble. We'll see what Test does at Mania.

WWF CHAMPIONSHIP 2-ON-1 HANDICAP MATCH

The Rock © vs. Vince McMahon & The British Bulldog

As much as I want to see a Vince/Taker match at Mania ... ;)

Not a big Kane fan at all, actually. This is just me hoping Austin wins.

Kurt Angle vs. Rob Van Dam

Great match coming up here. I'll go with Angle.

Key (w/Charles Wright) © vs. Sabu

The winner ... and NEW WWF Hardcore cha...

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWF WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP

Trish Stratus © vs. Jazz vs. Daffney Unger

Meh. I don't see Trish losing the belt.

I'm probably wrong here, but I'm a huge Storm mark. Hopefully he can beat Edge here.

THE FINALISED LINE UP FOR NO WAY OUT 2002

THREE STAGES OF HELL MATCH

Test vs. The Undertaker

(The First Fall - Singles Match; The Second Fall - Street Fight; The Third Fall - Ambulance Match)

REASON- I'm not totally sold on who will win this. The 'booker' in me, says that it makes sense to have Test win this one, then have 'Taker win at WM, but if it is the end of the fued, then I expect Taker to win. I had to choose so I went with Test since it would help future establish his character, and push the fued on till WM.

WWF CHAMPIONSHIP 2-ON-1 HANDICAP MATCH

The Rock © vs. Vince McMahon & The British Bulldog

REASON- If this was a different time of the year, I wouldn't mind seeing BB win this, but I don't see any way that BB wins this and keeps the Rock out of the main event at WM. Rocky-Rocky-Rocky-Rocky

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Kane (w/Paul Heyman)

REASON-No 'legit' reason... I'm just a huge Steve Austin mark and can't bring myself to ever choose against him. Ha.

Kurt Angle vs. Rob Van Dam

REASON: Kurt Angle needs the win to give him the precious 'mo' heading into WM, where I hope he'll steal the show.

WWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Key (w/Charles Wright) © vs. Sabu

REASON: I'm not a crazy Sabu mark, but giving him a run with the title belt, would help give the belt some more crediblity.

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWF WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP

Trish Stratus © vs. Jazz vs. Daffney Unger

REASON: If you give the title to Jazz, I'll kick you.

Edge vs. Lance Storm

REASON: If this was WM, I would look for this match to steal the show. Could go either way, I love both.

WWF HEAT MAIN EVENT

Funaki vs. TAKA Michinoku

REASON: I don't know if I am suppose to pick this, but I did anyways.... I just picked TAKA because its been so long since I've seen him, I probably forgot how much I disliked him.

Sunday Night Heat

Broadcast on Sunday, 10th February 2002 from the Bradley Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

NO WAY OUT IS JUST LESS THAN AN HOUR AWAY

An action packed night of wrestling kicks off with Kevin Kelly and Al Snow welcoming us to a very special LIVE edition of Sunday Night Heat. We are just one hour away from WWF No Way Out; the stage has been set and we are all ready to go. Al Snow says that later on in the night, the Sunday Night Heat team have a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT to make….make sure you stay tuned to find out what happens!

AM I NOT WORTHY?

Our first segment of the night involved Raven and Justin Credible making their way to the ring to speak out on politics in the World Wrestling Federation. Raven claims that he and Justin Credible are the victims of discrimination within the World Wrestling Federation and that has got to stop! Raven says he’s sick of being overlooked. Raven says that he and Justin Credible, as former ECW Champions, should be respected and treated accordingly. But they’re not! Raven says to that to Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler, Raven and Justin Credible are nothing more than additional bodies, wrestlers who they can throw to the lions when they don’t know who to book. But Raven will not stand for it anymore! He adds that he and Justin Credible are of the school of thought that when people don’t give you the respect you deserve, you have to beat the respect out of them. That is why tomorrow night on RAW; Raven is challenging the WWF Champion to a match for his precious WWF Championship belt.

Rikishi quickly hits the arena to put an end to Raven’s opening speech clearly amused at the WWF Superstar’s comments. Rikishi is quick to put to remind Raven that the real reason that he is currently in the lower mid-card of the World Wrestling Federation is certainly not because he is being discriminated against. But, after much thought and literature research, Rikishi does believe he has found the real reason why Raven has no respect! Simply put…it’s because he SUCKS! The crowd go wild at the Kish is remarks but Raven and Credible are not so impressed. Rikishi tells Raven that instead of making fantastical remarks about challenging the WWF Champion to a WWF Championship Match, a match that is as likely to happen as Rikishi is to lose 200lbs by tomorrow night, how about Raven fight Rikishi for the WWF European Championship, right here, right now! We have a match!

WWF European Championship Match

Rikishi © vs. Raven (w/Justin Credible)

Rikishi gets into the ring and the bell rings signifying the start of the match. Raven quickly tries to take control delivering Rikishi with some hard right hands echoing through the arena but they serve him little good as Rikishi reverses his Irish whip attempt before bringing him to ground with a huge belly to belly suplex bringing in an early roar from the crowd. Rikishi takes control of the match dropping Raven with a couple of shoulder blocks before sending him into the corner. Rikishi quickly capitalises splashing Raven in the corner! Rikishi looks in total control!

Rikishi went to capitalise on Raven but Justin Credible smartly pulled Raven out of the ring, Credible trying to pull him out of the match but Rikishi is not going to let that happen! Kishi climbs out of the ring and chases after the tag team, knocking Credible to the ground before dragging Raven back to ring. Raven gets back to his feet in the ring as Rikishi gets back in and quickly takes some control by sticking Rikishi with a thumb to the eye before following up with a raised knee, Raven quickly making a pin fall attempt but Kishi easily kicks out.

Raven keeps on top of Rikishi dropping him with some elbows before going for another pin cover but Kishi kicks out again, Raven having to quickly resort to a sleeper. Kishi looks to find a way out of the sleeper but Raven sticks his knee in for good measure. Rikishi some how manages to get back to his feet but Raven doesn’t let go, Raven paying the price for his unwillingness to give up, Rikishi slamming Raven hard against the mat. Raven gets back to his feet and looks for a way out but he gets hit with a Samoan Drop for his troubles. Kishi could end this now but Credible gets onto the apron and halts the match, Credible distracting the referee from the pin. Kishi gets back to his feet and swings for Credible but he ducks and hangs the big man on the ropes, the referee quickly ordering Credible out of the arena. Raven goes for the roll up but only gets the 2.

Raven gets back to his feet and hits some clubbing blows over the back of Rikishi before dropping him with a bulldog; Raven once again goes for the cover but Rikishi once again manages to kick out. Raven gets back to his feet and taunts Rikishi as he struggles to get back to a vertical base. Raven goes for the Raven Effect but Rikishi counters the move pushing Raven away before dropping him with the Savate Kick. Rikishi hovers over Raven before sitting down on him for the pin! Rikishi wins this one!

Winner and still WWF European Champion Rikishi

TAKING OUT MY FRUSTRATIONS

We head backstage to find The Coach who is live with Billy Kidman. The Coach asks Billy Kidman how he’s doing but Kidman tells The Coach that he would prefer it if they could just skip the pleasantries and get down to brass tacks. Kidman says that he understands that for people like Rikishi and Raven, Justin Credible and Funaki, a match on Sunday Night Heat is like their own personal pilgrimage. But for Billy Kidman, appearing on a WWF B Show isn’t something he relishes. Kidman tells The Coach that despite not holding the WWF Cruiserweight Championship, Billy Kidman is simply the best cruiserweight in the World Wrestling Federation and that there isn’t a single superstar in this business that could prove him wrong. Kidman says that unlike Raven’s comments earlier in the night, people like Marc Mero and himself have reason to be unhappy at the fact they were not included on the No Way Out card. As for tonight, Kidman tells The Coach that it looks like he’s going to have to take his frustrations out on the “Lethal Weapon” Steve Blackman. Blackman vs. Kidman is NEXT!

After a short advert break, we return to ring side to see Billy Kidman making his way to the ring. The fans certainly don’t like Kidman and you can’t blame them…ever since the invasion, he has been nothing but a jackass. After Kidman gets into the ring, Blackman’s music hits and Steve Blackman makes his way down the ramp way ready for the match. Blackman returned to competitive action in prior to the Royal Rumble and has been running somewhat hot and cold since his return. Can Blackman build some momentum tonight?

Non-Title Match

Billy Kidman vs. “The Lethal Weapon” Steve Blackman

Both men glare at each other as the referee explains the rules, everyone in the audience realising immediately that there certainly is no love lost here. When the bell rings, Blackman immediately shows his strength driving Kidman into the corner of the ring, blasting away at him with some hard chops and stiff kicks. Blackman takes some time out to get the crowd behind him but does so at the expense of his early possession, Kidman wisely dodging his next shot before turning the tables and delivering Blackman some right hands. Kidman continues to work on Blackman thrusting him into the corner with a tackle, the young Kidman very confident in the early goings. Blackman wanders out into no man’s land and gets floored with a huge drop kick, Kidman going for the cover but only getting the 2. Damn that was close! Kidman is looking aggressive tonight!

Billy gets right back on top of Blackman and beats him down with some right fists before landing a standing moonsault onto the Lethal Weapon once again going for the cover but Blackman kicks out. Nice move there by the former WCW Cruiserweight Champion. Kidman continues hitting Blackman with a decent snapmare before delivering another drop kick; once again, cover but only the 2. Kidman can’t seem to capitalise on this possession, even with a springboard leg drop once again getting the 2. Kidman quickly loses his cool and begins to choke out Blackman on ground, Kidman lucky not to get disqualified right there and then. Kidman evidently doesn’t give a damn! Kidman drops Blackman with a scoop slam before heading up to the top rope. Can Kidman hit the Shooting Star Press? No! Blackman gets out of the way! Both men are out on the floor.

Both men begin to get back to their feet and begin trading punches. Kidman’s are tough but Blackman’s are stronger! Kidman takes a cheap shot hitting Blackman with a thumb to the eye but that doesn’t stop Blackman reversing the Irish whip attempt, Blackman taking Kidman down with a back body drop! Kidman gets back to his feet and gets hit with a vertical suplex before being covered but Kidman kicks out. Kidman gets back to his feet and gets hit with some huge back hand chops, Blackman driving Kidman backwards before hitting him with a Russian leg sweep. Kidman gets covered again but once more gets the shoulder up. Blackman doesn’t lay off him though and gets him straight back up to his feet once more before going straight to work on Kidman’s torso with some sharp back hand chops. Blackman tries to end it all with the bicycle kick after an Irish whip but Kidman smartly holds onto the ropes and pulls himself to the outside of the apron. Blackman goes in pursuit but gets hit with a hangman’s neckbreaker for his troubles before being floored with a missile drop kick. Kidman quickly gets over to the corner once more this time and finishes the job, this time not missing with the shooting star press, Kidman crashing down hard on the Lethal Weapon before covering him for the three.

Winner – Billy Kidman

After the match, Kidman stands in the ring and raises his arms to the crowd despite the excessive jeering; Kidman is clearly delighted with the victory. Kevin Kelly and Al Snow remind us that the huge Heat announcement is up NEXT!

THE ANNOUNCEMENT

After the ring his cleared, Kevin Kelly gets up from his usual announcing position and makes his way to the ring with a microphone. Kevin Kelly thanks everyone for coming to the arena and that tonight is going to be a huge night in Sports Entertainment. Kelly adds that in all of his years, he has never seen a year of promise so great in wrestling as this year. However, tonight’s announcement is not about the future of the World Wrestling Federation but about the future of Sunday Night Heat! “Ladies and Gentlemen please welcome….Mr. McMahon

Vince McMahon’s music hits the arena and Vince makes his way to the ring. Vince is given Kevin Kelly’s mic who quickly rejoins commentary as Vince thanks all the fans for coming to No Way Out, where in one hour’s time, he will become a three time WWF Champion. However, like Kevin Kelly said, tonight’s announcement is not about No Way Out, it is about WWF Heat. Vince says that when Sunday Night Heat was created, Heat was meant to be a show case show, a show where the World Wrestling Federation could show case it’s talent as a supplement to RAW. Heat was meant to have the top names in the business on it. Hell, Heat used to have stars like, Triple H! The Rock! Stone Cold Steve Austin! Mick Foley! But as time went by and with the arrival of WWF Smackdown! WWF Heat’s dropped from being an important that showcased talent to being a b-show that showcased the mediocrity in the World Wrestling Federation; the Superstars that couldn’t make it on to RAW and Smackdown. But Not Anymore! Because as of tonight, I, Vincent Kennedy McMahon am officially CANCELLING WWF Heat! The crowd and announcers were stunned. Al Snow was in complete uproar, asking Kevin Kelly how long he knew about this but Kelly protests his innocence stating that he only knew what the topic of the announcement was and not the nature of it!

Vince McMahon calls for quiet, some areas lowering their noise levels while others simply refuse to oblige. Vince continues rhetorically asking the audience what will happen to the superstars that make a living out of Heat. Vince says that as of now, 75% of the World Wrestling Federation is on contract watch and this includes Kevin Kelly and Al Snow. Vince explains that there is a reason that he is such a successful business man and it's because he knows all about value and worth of things and people. Vince says that it is time to clear out the deadwood and that it's going to start tonight, right here in the Bradley Center. Who is going to be the first casualty? Well, that would be The Rock. After all, when The Rock loses the WWF Championship to Vince tonight, what use would he be to anyone? Vince says that he cannot wait to look The Rock straight in the eyes and say "YOU'RE FIRED!" Strong words by Vince! The Final Main Event of WWF Heat is NEXT!

THE MAIN EVENT

After Vince left the arena, Kevin Kelly and Al Snow talk about their futures in the World Wrestling Federation. Al Snow tells Kevin Kelly that he feels sorry for him because at least he is a former Wrestler. Kevin Kelly is just an announcer….Kevin Kelly thanks Al Snow for the motivational talk but who cares right! TAKA Michinoku is on his way to the ring and he is joined by Taiyo and Kazuhiro. Next up is WWF’s favourite underdog, Funaki! Funaki jogs down the ramp and high fives some of the crowd before getting into the ring and going face to face with TAKA. Over the past few weeks, TAKA Michinoku has had a grudge against Funaki and no one knows why? Both men look set to get going when…….

Marc Mero’s music hit’s the arena and Mero quickly becomes visible at the top of the ramp with his manager and love interest, Torrie Wilson. Marc Mero gets heavily booed by the audience but Mero doesn’t seem to hear it. Mero announces that he feels, as it is the last night of Heat, and Heat being his show, he owes to all of his fans here at the Bradley Center to give them one final match that they’ll never forget. That’s why he’s putting his WWF Cruiserweight Championship ON THE LINE! (the title is on the line? ). However, there are going to be some ground rules and they are that Marc Mero wants TAKA’s henchmen out of here! TAKA obliges and Kazuhiro and Taiyo depart from ringside so it looks like we’ve got ourselves a Cruiserweight title match!

A Triple Threat WWF Cruiserweight Championship Match

Marc Mero © vs. Funaki vs. TAKA Michinoku

As soon as Mero drops his belt and heads for the ring, TAKA Michinoku attacks Funaki from behind and kicks off the match in a very cheap fashion. TAKA quickly goes for a roll up but Mero breaks up the pin fall attempt. Mero rakes TAKA’s eyes before throwing him out of the ring, Funaki then attempting a roll up, Mero having to kick out himself. Mero gets up very angrily and drops Funaki with a huge stiff clothesline following up with some with kicks to the body. Mero sends Funaki to the corner and delivers him with some hard shots. Mero then sends Funaki into the opposite corner and attempts to go after him but TAKA grabs hold of Mero’s ankle on the outside. Mero kicks TAKA off but doesn’t prevent the drop kick from Funaki, Sho quickly going for the cover but TAKA breaks it up.

TAKA hits Funaki with a stiff uppercut before using the ropes to aid a slam to the mat, Funaki kicking out on the two. Mero goes for TAKA but TAKA sticks him with a thumb to the eye before throwing Mero on top of Funaki with an overhead belly to belly suplex. Mero rolls off of Funaki and TAKA goes for another cover but Mero is clever enough to break up the pin. Mero grabs hold of TAKA and throws him out of the ring again. Mero quickly hits a springboard leg drop on Funaki and goes for the cover but Funaki somehow manages to get the shoulder up. On the outside, TAKA approaches Torrie Wilson and grabs hold of her by the hair, causing a reaction from Mero but TAKA plays it cleverly, taking down Mero instead with a right hand before sending him into the steel steps. TAKA tries to get back on the apron but Torrie won’t let him get backing on, Funaki taking advantage hitting him with a drop kick to the outside. Funaki quickly capitalises on the move dropping both Torrie and TAKA with an Asai Moonsault.

Funaki takes TAKA back into the ring and covers him but TAKA manages to kick out on the two. Funaki drops a couple of elbows, before taking Mero off the apron with a dropkick, Mero crashing into the outside barricade. TAKA tries to attack Funaki from behind knocking him into the corner but TAKA’s second corner attack ends up badly, TAKA eating Funaki elbow before Funaki climbs up to the top of the turnbuckle hitting TAKA with a top rope tornado DDT! Funaki hooks the leg……1………..2………….Marc Mero breaks up the count. The crowd were stunned! Marc Mero looks severely pissed off! Mero grabs hold of Funaki before hitting him with the TKO for the 3. Marc Mero was lucky to escape with his title here tonight!

Winner and still WWF Cruiserweight Champion, Marc Mero

Immediately after the pin fall, Mero climbs out of the ring and snatches his Cruiserweight Championship belt from Torrie Wilson and raises it to the crowd. Can anyone beat Marc Mero for the WWF Cruiserweight Title?

NO WAY OUT IS NEXT! BUT IT’S GOODBYE FROM HEAT!

Kevin Kelly and Al Snow thank us for joining the show. Kevin Kelly humbly says that his time on Heat has been one of the most enjoyable parts of his career and how it’s been a pleasure to work alongside Al Snow; Al Snow agrees that it’s been an enjoyable ride. Tonight is truly the end of an era. So what does the future hold? Find out on WWF No Way Out…Coming Up NEXT!
