What Ever Happened to All those Wrestling Management Sims?

Around the time that Jennings was still doing PW and EWR was probably only in version 1 or so, there were 5 or 6 other Wrestling Management Sims in development, H2H was supposed to blow EWR out of the water, ESWF never did his updated version, TMN7 was around but I don't know much about it. It seemed like everyone and their mother was working on one. Why'd they all die?

They've basically all declined along with the popularity in wrestling as a whole, and probably people just getting bored with it all when they realised how difficult it really was to deliver what they were promising.

I remember after many many promises of releasing PW2, Jennings (after about 3 years of delays) released a "70% finished" demo of PW2. It showed the game would have been pretty good had it ever been finished, but the 30% that was never done was half the features that would have made the game decent.

Eventually, Jennings simply released (yet) another update to PW1.

I remember the whole Promotion Wars 2 debacle as I was a big fan of the Scotsman at the time. He got his hands on a copy of the demo, or near finished copy at least and gave it a harsh criticism. All of the PW fans call him out on it, stating that he was friends with Ryland and a contributor to EWR, so his opinion was invalid on the subject. Then the whole case of the board war broke out, but either way, Scots made some very good points about how amateur Jennings had been in the production of the game, including the most major issue of very faulty coding. which was something along the lines of creating a single record for things that could be compiled into a database, making the process easier, but much harder on the program.
